I truly love this community and this fandom, mainly because the writer, created and director of this series is so open and close to his audience, and when you're wondering about stuff most other fandoms will have to literally pray to get answers for, there's the big guy himself, telling you about why production has been slow, and that makes all the delays and the lack of content so much more bearable, knowing that he's trying his best and that he's gonna talk to his fandom about certain situations directly. I have gone through a similar health condition that affects my appearance heavily this year, having to learn how to not care about what I look like and honestly I’ve just avoided looking at myself, pretending like it doesn’t exist. But seeing Thomas take a good look at his self confidence with his condition makes me feel like I can too. One of my personal success was going to therapy for the first time and just- talking it out with someone else who genuinely cared. One of my failures was- I was not able to keep a job for more than a month, because of the cold water effect- after two years of not working and going into the job, without taking care of my own person first. I was unaware of the changes in the education environment that had occurred during and over the 3 years I had not worked. But I am seeing this as an opportunity to work on myself and make me a better person, so I can go in and teach the littles, while hopefully making them better people.
I know you don’t need a random stranger saying this, but congratulations on going to therapy! You should be proud of taking such a step. I know life can be hard. With school, and working, and just trying to take care of yourself, but you’ll get there.
As another writer, one of the best pieces of advice given to me was “don’t write the work you think everyone wants to read (or in your case watch), write the work you want to read.” I struggled with that a lot in my current novel, which is why it’s taking so long because there’s so much that I only had in there to satisfy my readers or avoid what they won’t like (almost exclusively my family lol). All this to say, I get it and the most important thing about your art is that you enjoy making it. I’ll keep on supporting you and you’ve been one of the post positive internet influencers I engage with. Thank you for your help in my own mental health and best wishes to your own journey!

Sanders sides was my first major introduction to all the other aspects of queerness other than gay people, like I didn't know what Non-binary meant before watching Thomas' content. So glad I learned about that stuff from such a lovely community of people, most of which belonged to the queer community :)
Edit: asides videos are so amazing, i love them so much, they're so character driven which is enticing because it's what us people LOVE to psychoanalyze. And sometimes we need a break from plot to enjoy the beach episodes you know? I've been through those feelings for my artwork too and it takes a lot to be like hey ok I don't need to internalize all the negatives, I'm also doing this for me because its what I enjoy. And it's weird when all those feelings hit you! I'm glad you've been able to figure all this out! It's so good to feel connected to your work again, I've been trying to get there myself and this video gives me hope.

Even with the highs and lows this year of your videos have been one of my favorites! Especially because this was the year I stared watching Roleslaying with Roman which really helped me and my sister connect more and also brought us a lot of joy! And never forget, even with the highs and the lows, it’s like a roller coaster which are fun and scary but the chances of death are low and you’ll get through it!!!
This is such a hopeful video for me. I haven't written anything in _years,_ initially because of my depression, but now it's more because of the guilt I feel about my readers waiting so long, which made me fall out of love with writing. It's nice knowing that someone else has gotten out of that rut, because that means there is a way out.

Virgil not liking Other Anxiety (what we call the Anxiety from Inside Out 2), and the Secret Santa with the dark Sides. And, of course, all the Shorts and other shenanigans we've seen from you! Picani was so nice to see again. You may have failed in some areas, but you've 100% succeeded in many other areas as well. i was not expecting to be nearly brought to tears by this video. i have been going through a very similar creative and mental funk for around the exact same time. 'my internal monologue was just a tad bit louder' is EXACTLY what I was feeling throughout 2022. complete funk with no motivation for anything purely because of the mean voices in my brain. i don't publish my content but I've had an issue for years where all the art I made was to service the goal of Getting Good tm at art. I've taken the last year or so to slowly rediscover my love of just making silly things and I'm so glad I did! still got a lot to go through. thomas you're not alone and its so encouraging to see someone I look up to going through something similar to me

Last year I cried when I saw your update about your skin condition. Then I had a crazy year and spent a lot of time in treatment for mental health. I’ve grown a lot but I also wasn’t allowed my phone for a long time. This is my first time getting back to your channel since then and I’m just so incredibly proud of you. Your channel has helped me so much throughout my teens, to see you starting to actually love and take care of yourself makes me so so so happy.
Hearing you talk about your struggles of dealing with writer's block makes me feel a little more reassured, comforted (?) about my own doubts with my own writing. Sanders sides was my first major introduction to all the other aspects of queerness other than gay people, like I didn't know what Non-binary meant before watching Thomas' content. I've been through those feelings for my artwork too and it takes a lot to be like hey ok I don't need to internalize all the negatives, I'm also doing this for me because its what I enjoy. And it's weird when all those feelings hit you! I'm glad you've been able to figure all this out!

Even with the highs and lows this year of your videos have been one of my favorites! Especially because this was the year I stared watching Roleslaying with Roman which really helped me and my sister connect more and also brought us a lot of joy! I also stared watching more videos of yours and I remembered why I love them so much!!! I can’t wait to see the amazing stuff that comes next year! And never forget, even with the highs and the lows, it’s like a roller coaster which are fun and scary but the chances of death are low and you’ll get through it!!!
This is such a hopeful video for me. I haven't written anything in _years,_ initially because of my depression, but now it's more because of the guilt I feel about my readers waiting so long, which made me fall out of love with writing. It's nice knowing that someone else has gotten out of that rut, because that means there is a way out.

i think i can speak for a lot of us when i say that regardless of how large-scale the sanders sides episodes are, a huge portion of us will still enjoy the content you bring and still love the art you offer us even purely on the merit of it being something you worked hard on, apart from the fact that your writing and presentation of the things you make is so full of personality on its own. your work without joan is different, of course it is, but it is by no means worth less because of that. your creative spirit and love for these characters is what continues to draw me in over and over and over again even as the years pass. you have so much to offer, thomas, and we will always appreciate you sharing so much of yourself and spreading both the positive and the more realistic vibes. we love you, man ❤️

Throughout the entire years of tears, fears, and random fandom discourse, I can say you've made us smile a lot this year! The Asides episodes were so fun to see again! Virgil not liking Other Anxiety (what we call the Anxiety from Inside Out 2), and the Secret Santa with the dark Sides. And, of course, all the Shorts and other shenanigans we've seen from you! Picani was so nice to see again.
You may have failed in some areas, but you've 100% succeeded in many other areas as well.
Either way, no matter the creations you put out there or if there's a 'lack of' posted content, we still enjoy being here. The fandom is generally kind and fun to be around, you're a comfort creator to a lot of us, and most importantly: *ya don't have to produce anything to have worth.*

i was not expecting to be nearly brought to tears by this video. i have been going through a very similar creative and mental funk for around the exact same time. 'my internal monologue was just a tad bit louder' is EXACTLY what I was feeling throughout 2022. complete funk with no motivation for anything purely because of the mean voices in my brain. i don't publish my content but I've had an issue for years where all the art I made was to service the goal of Getting Good tm at art. I've taken the last year or so to slowly rediscover my love of just making silly things and I'm so glad I did! still got a lot to go through. thomas you're not alone and its so encouraging to see someone I look up to going through something similar to me

Last year I cried when I saw your update about your skin condition. Then I had a crazy year and spent a lot of time in treatment for mental health. I’ve grown a lot but I also wasn’t allowed my phone for a long time. This is my first time getting back to your channel since then and I’m just so incredibly proud of you. Your channel has helped me so much throughout my teens, to see you starting to actually love and take care of yourself makes me so so so happy.
Hearing you talk about your struggles of dealing with writer's block makes me feel a little more reassured, comforted (?) about my own doubts with my own writing.
