First time seeing the channel? I'm HALF PEEPS (aka peeps4321 or Samuel). I make video game animations here on RUclips, mainly using SFM (Source Filmmaker, animation software running on Valve's Source game engine) and S2FM (Source 2 Filmmaker, the updated version of SFM running on Valve's Source 2 game engine). Most of my videos are related to Valve Software (mainly Half-Life and Portal) but don't be surprised if another franchise pops up occasionally. Starting RUclips back in 2013, in 2020, I hit my first 1,000 subscribers (took me long enough, I know...) and subsequently hit 10,000 in 2021. My ultimate goal is to reach 100,000 subscribers. As unrealistic as that may be, I would love it if you subscribed and joined me on this journey! I hope you enjoy the content!
Half-Life is a series of first-person shooter (FPS) games developed and published by Valve. The games combine shooting combat, puzzles, and storytelling. The original Half-Life, Valve's first product, was released in 1998 for Windows to critical and commercial success. Players control Gordon Freeman, a scientist who must survive an alien invasion. The innovative scripted sequences were influential on the FPS genre, and the game inspired numerous community-developed mods, including the multiplayer games Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat. Half-Life was followed by the expansions Opposing Force (1999), Blue Shift (2001), and Decay (2001), developed by Gearbox Software. In 2004, Valve released Half-Life 2 to further success, with a new setting and characters and physics-based gameplay. Portal is a series of first-person puzzle-platform video games developed by Valve. Set in the Half-Life universe, the two main games in the series, Portal (2007) and Portal 2 (2011), center on a woman, Chell, forced to undergo a series of tests within the Aperture Science Enrichment Center by a malicious artificial intelligence, GLaDOS, that controls the facility. Most of the tests involve using the "Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device" - the "portal gun" - that creates a human-sized wormhole-like connection between two flat surfaces. Edit: By Genuine I didn't mean it was a real half life trailer. I just meant it was a convincing fan made trailer rather than being a meme trailer. Also thanks for the likes. :)

You know, Valve doesn't even have to make a good trailer for HL3. GabeN dressed in an HEV Suit holding a crowbar slowly going on the E3 Stage (not speaking a single word) whilst a Lambda sign with the number 3 appearing in the background as the soundtrack plays is probably enough to make a hype train comparable to that of No Man's Sky's if not more.

i actually have a theory that gman's true form is something so immensely awful and disgusting that he morphs into what he believes is an average business man look to approach anyone he speaks to
it's why his look is so uncanny, why he wears a suit, why he's often seen with a briefcase, and his weird speech. he's unfamiliar with the human race, so his gman look is what he sees humanity as - not a perfect rendition of a man, but still person looking
This video hits me differently.
Gman portrays myself rummaging through old boxes stored in the attic, wondering of memories long forgotten.
I come across a console, a childhood favorite of mine. The music peaks and my mind is filled with nostalgia. Memories of simpler times. I inspect that console, worn and scared by time. The music starts to fade and I question myself, "Where did that time go? Where did all those people I've befriended have gone?"
A deep sigh to myself and I put that console away, wishing I could go back one last time to experience that joy again.
Imagine if this was actually half life 3 trailer and valve actually making a game that goes to the 3rd game and doesnt just stay on the 2nd game

@@gabrielabramoff3270 This is incorrect. Similar to Nintendo in some ways, VALVe has publicly stated that they don't want to make a game that wont push the boundaries of gaming. The release of the 1st and 2nd game fundamentally shifted gaming forever. Nowadays, its nearly impossible to get that opportunity since well most of what you can think of has already been developed. They released Half Life: Alyx because of the slowly increasing trend of VR headsets, they saw what VR games had to offer currently and completely revolutionized VR games.

Love that the 3 imitates the scan lines in the first game's HUD.
Very good. One minor suggestion, at 0:13 G man’s hair looks too dark, compared to the light being cast across the rest of him from behind. It makes the hair look like one solid object, rather than multiple thin strands (which would kind of have a translucency to them).

Yeah, I think that's an issue with the current S2FM build, not easy to fix unless Valve releases the rest of the tools. Maybe Garry Newman will figure it out, fingers crossed. 🤞

The quality is amazing! The only thing that bothers me is that you made Gman look like a normal guy who is just the boss of the military or something, it would've been cool to see him at the end watching from far away or waiting inside an office, just a glimpse of him like we used to get. Anyway this is beautiful, great work.

Ok so this actually makes sense in a way, the Gman's motivation is to get his own HEV suit. Think about it: he sends a theoretical physicist into situations said physicist should not survive constantly and now he's kidnapped said physicist's non-girlfriend girlfriend. He's either after Gordon's suit or Gordon 🤣

The thumbnail and the clip got my imagination running so hard dude. Immediately what popped into my head was "The G man took the suit, somehow became involved with a disaster in the Borealis, and became supernatural, leading to all his apparitions"
A little tiny mote of hope will always remain somewhere in my soul, that Valve will make HL3 or something epic within the HL series that will give us fans the closure to Gordons' story arc.

Half-Life 3 was in development between 2013-2014, and it was meant to run on Source 2, but the engine was still unfinished and the game got canceled.
Half-Life 3 has been in development half a dozen times
@@HALFPEEPS Yeah, it somehow got confirmed in 2022 when they were talkin about Steam Deck, then Gaben got asked about Half Life alyx, and he said something about that is hard to continue an ending, but he think the progress they made is great. So we can expect something about Half Life in the next Years, or maybe this year.
@@HALFPEEPS it all started back in 2004 and valve announced it in 2006 with a release planned in 2007, and it was meant to be Half Life 2 episode 3,and this should've end the Half Life 2 story and in 2011 got canceled untill source 2 will be complete, in 2013-2014 they started working on it again but in 2017 got abandoned again, then they started working on the VR half life alyx that we got in 2020.

I think I made a Half-Life 3 story with something like this happening for lore. You played as Barney after Epistle 3 and Arkane's Return to Ravenholm. The G-Man was basically hinted at being an agent of the universe's CIA or something. But he was mainly set aside for lore and comics. I might do a reading of the script and even get some text-to-speech AI to do voices at some point, but those things will take time.
No idea, I thought this trailer and the Portal 3 one were really good. You get an A+ from me, probably would've been an A because of the GMan's hair, but you can't fix that without remaking those shots in S2FM, so A+ it is. Looking forward to more movies as well. Good job!

Dude imagine they did it for the 20th anniversary, and they made a VR mode (like Alyx) and a normal mode, and imagine that they completely revolutionize gaming AGAIN SOMEHOW, but i doubt that might happen since most of the things to invent for gaming have been made already. Or so that's what we thought back in the eras of early gaming. It is all dependent on what new technology comes out, no not new GPUs or CPUs, I mean new types of tech. This is why VALVe made half life alyx, because it was finally a platform they could revolutionize, and they did, VR games before it weren't even too comparable

I like to imagine myself like some Eldritch horror, just like the Gman is. The difference however is that while the Gman is a professional businessman, I am pretty much a psychotic child. All I want is to have fun with the realities I play with. See who can reach me by leaving the world behind by ascending both in brawn and brain, and who will stay chained to their current evolutionary form. Who gives me the most pleasure and therefore must be preserved in order to maintain the quality for the next play. I grant them knowledge and power. All I ask in return is that their hearts and souls live up to the body's quality. Only the beautiful and interesting ones can have a chance to take control and become my rivals. But I can only find those through emotion and psychology. The body definitely helps in the experience, as it's a form of expression, but it's not the product whose quality I seek to test.

After the events of Half-Life 2, the Resistance finally reached the Borealis and obtained the ultimate secret of local teleportation. This technology allowed for teleportation not only within the same planet but also between different planets. Alyx, driven by her father's wishes, believed that this secret needed to be destroyed to prevent its misuse by the Combine. She engaged in a heated debate with Mossman, who wanted the Resistance to use the technology against the Combine.
In the midst of this conflict, the enigmatic Gman appeared and took Alyx captive. Gordon, determined to rescue her, embarked on a relentless search. Eventually, he discovered that the Gman had handed Alyx over to the Combine, who transported her to their overworld. Fueled by anger, Gordon took command of the Earth Resistance and led them into numerous battles against the Combine, all in the hopes of saving Alyx.
During his quest, the Gman reappeared and provided Gordon with crucial information about Alyx's whereabouts. With this knowledge, Gordon launched a grand assault on the Combine, aiming to seize control of one of their dimensional teleporters. Along the way, the vortigaunts granted him new abilities, including the manipulation of electric currents and the ability to emit a powerful green energy beam, similar to their own powers.
Gordon successfully infiltrated the Combine's high-security prison, where he freed Alyx and the remaining rebellious Advisors. In an epic confrontation, he ultimately defeated the Master Combine Advisor, but not without consequences. The dying Advisor managed to fatally injure Alyx and severely wound Gordon. However, the remaining Ally Advisors transcended the physical world, similar to the Gman, and intervened.
The Gman then appeared once more, taking Gordon back to the test chamber just before the infamous incident at Black Mesa. Frozen in time, the Gman presented Gordon with a choice. He could either end it all by shooting his past self, erasing the events that led to the Combine invasion and Alyx's death, or he could continue his journey, but with the knowledge that he would live a half-life without Alyx.
The game ends on this cliffhanger, leaving the player to ponder the consequences of their decision. The idea of Gordon sacrificing himself to alter the course of history and save Alyx raises intriguing questions about the nature of time and the price one must pay for freedom.
So the Gman was seeking to control the Combine, is that it ? Makes sense. His actions do make it clear he prefers to obtain resources and control them from within rather than start open war campaigns that might destroy potential investments before their expiration date.
So, I'm curious. What would you choose ? The choice he offers makes it clear this won't bring our Alyx back in exchange for your life. The Overworld is located in a different dimension, and therefore works accordingly to a different timeline. A new Alyx is going to be created. And who knows if she plans to be the person you fell in love with. As far as you know, maybe she becomes a monster who brings suffering to many. And that is going to be the Alyx everyone remembers. Not the martyr.
On the other hand...You would prevent our world's suffering. Although, if the Gman gets any ideas, wouldn't it be a good idea to have people be aware of his kind for future invasions ?
@@JabamiLain you have a great point, but I think that the gman would prefer working in the dark instead of letting people know that they were manipulated by another race preventing any kind of resistance to obtain ultimate freedom, like how the gman worked in previous games giving people the illusion of choice to do what he desire.
But who knows ....
@@thelord4200 this is why I prefer to imagine myself like a Eldritch creature in my fanfics. A Bill Cipher like one, whose only interest is to play. I get to expose myself to my victims, making things funnier as it is hard to turn predictability into unpredictability, but not impossible. A being like the Gman removes that challenge by simply working in the shadows.

conidering that most fan made trailers are just scenes from other trailers mixed into one video, this is actually a really good trailer. if it wherent for the music being from hald life 2, the logo more like the old ones and the removal of the half peeps at the end this would have been the most belivable trailer
