Austin is a very lucky young man to have you as his grandfather. Thanks for keeping another old car on the road.
Ah-ha! I always wondered how they were related! lol
I like that you are teaching your grandsons how to work on cars.
I like when your green arrow is lit up! ↪️😬
Can't wait to see what you will do to that t-bird--Great classic !!!!
Coming along nicely!
Can't wait to see that car driving
Brent bring the Phoenix back in, u promised I got it on video
I have to first finish my truck first. then it can go on that hoist.
Watching you have a small segment of moving things around the shop seemed great as to the old shop! It gives you much more freedom and comfort to work. You helping and teach two young men says a lot about you to help in their future! "Great"
Really glad to see you and Austin working together that way.
Good to see Austin working on his car. Your an awesome grandfather. Keep up the great work Brent 😊
Enjoy the slippery slope known as the car hobby Austin! Sweet ride!😎
Amen! Lol
Dg
Top man, Brent, with a heart of gold and a font of knowledge to boot. My favourite channel on YT by far. 😊
Been watching ya on the big screen lately so maybe not commented as much cuz it sucks to type on my little wireless keyboard, lol... switching over to watch this one now QUICK!
Been doing the same, find it impossible to comment on TV screen
Really cool watching you and Austin working together. Austin will be the envy of his school mates with that car. Take care and wish you all the best. 👍👍
First video Austin appeared in vs today's video = Austin is growing up.
I'm sure I've missed this along the way but Austin and Ryder... are they kids/grandkids or just young guys interested in old metal? Glad to see them enjoying time to work on custom classics. Keep up the good work, enjoy your channel!
Austin’s the grandson & Ryder’s a neighbour’s son.
You are still Grampa to both of them, in their eyes. I know how that goes.
Brent your Shop looks Amazing ! You’ve got things in Great Shape! Let the good times roll! 🔥🚗📹❤️💯
wow you must like your new fork toy ,AWSOME
In 79 I bought a 66 Chevelle my Dad helped me do a tune up and time it. One of my fondest memories. These are the times Austin will never forget.
That forklift has become a excellent aid in the shop. You're makin great progress with Austin's Buick. And we'll catch you on the next on Brent. cheers
Well hello sir I did not realize that young man was your grandson only thing I can say for sure sir that you are a blessed man you have all the equipment big garage Machinery to do all your heavy lifting I am encouraged about watching your mechanic shows might as well calling mechanic shows that shows the viewers me on top of that the mechanic work I found out Austin was your grandson by reading the comments keep up the good work there sir God bless you and your grandson Austin all your family j u a n . c. F u e n t e s. Sr. All the way from Joplin Missouri
That gonna be one sweet ride! Wish I had something like that at his age… Heck I’d like to have it at my age! 🤪
Love seeing the old Buick coming back to life and teaching your knowledge to the younger generation as they are the future of the hot rodding/classic car movement. Can't wait to see it drive.
That little lift is irreplaceable now isn’t it. What a year eh!!’😎👍
Any plans to make that a 2-door conversion?
No plans on it Austin likes the car as it is.
That Buick is a thing of beauty.
I like the idea of converting it to a 2-door. A couple of ways to do that. Move the B pillar back and find a couple of doors from a 2-door donor car or lengthen the existing doors with material from the back doors. You know both ways. Fun and semi-easy project for you both. It will improve the look of the car...especially for a guy Austin's age who will drive it to school.
2 doors and a set of mini tubs. No wheel spacers needed than.
Totally unnecessary and just more work, it looks all original now.
Nice Buick I got a 64 Skylark with a Chevy 350 but I burned my 4l80 an can't find a replacement😮
High Five Brent, you are teaching your grandsons how to problem solve, create ,and make things work. Those days with gramp's in the garage will always be rememberd. Nice Work
Instead of you. Driving the vehicle down the road at the end of the show. You should let your dog drive the vehicle down the road with you in the passenger seat. You're sick, ha ha
Good to see y’all, happy Saturday
Hey, momma, I was thinking maybe you're a born again. Christian, is that true because I am?
That was a moment of inspiration when Austin felt tdc for the timing his face said it all, since he started on the buick he seems to have grown the leg length to fit the seating position. Great project
YYEEAASSS, love all your vids but seeing that bad boy sitting in the back ground for soo long definitely had me wanting to see it come back for more. Thats a bad mammajamma for sure!
I'm glad you're working on your half ass music sounding better
Hi Brent, just a suggestion if I may. I used a bottle like yours for years to squirt gas into the carb. They'll stay running awhile longer if you squirt into the carb's vent tube to fill the fuel bowl. Oh wait, It looks like you already knew that. Lol! Great video with Austin!😎❤👍
I think the new shop is Trent’s times more efficient to work in than the old one. 👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🤘🏻🤘🏻
Its always exciting when you do a first start especially on your first car!
In 50 years Austin will be out in the shed building hot rod hoverbikes or something with his grandchildren while telling them stories about building hot rod ICE cars with his grandfather. 😊
I think your dog is cool you should put him in the show more often
I would have killed to work on my grandfather's Buick with him before he got sick. I love all your videos, but seeing you teach the grandkids is awesome!
And first comment
Well... Cool. Looks like Austin is getting knowledge on a little bit of everything. Kudos to you for teaching him. Car is coming along nice.
I remember being the kid with an old car and having an experienced gearhead helping me put it together. Looking back now, I appreciate the patience you have in showing him how to do this stuff. I was just like him, not knowing what I was doing, but I can see how I could have been better at anticipating the next step to help the job go smoothly. Kudos to you for passing it on to the younger generation. He may not realize it yet but he's getting a valuable education and will appreciate it as time goes by.
Dang. I never knew the distributor bump it around trick. I always crawled up there with a screwdriver.
That's quality time right there!! Take care
What are you doing in the '62 T-bird?
Can you u upgrade front rotors to match the s10
I’m happy you built such a nice shop for yourself 😊 I have enjoyed your channel for a long time. Thanks for the entertainment and the knowledge you share.
Number 51
Good one sir Brent you do have room in this shop.Great to see Austin back at the Buick and she runs cool Hope you get the diff in there with what to have .Well done guy's thank you for sharing
Hey Brent, what is the black box that you are using for a remote starter. Another great vid. Keep them coming.
it's some starter/ignition box I got in a used toolbox, though there is no brand or anything on it.
Austin is going to have one serious lead sled! Got to love the 50's.
excellant patina on the buick, its comin along. love your new shop.
keep it up Brent , great way to keep the young generation at foot, learning to be car smart and exercising their muscles and brain building their own big toys ... 👍🏼✔
Thanks to you and Austin for sharing that cool moment between grandfather and grandson!!!! How awesome 👌
Good work, Austin....you have a runner!! Brent, those lift tables and fork lift are proving invaluable.Mint😎👍
That’s so cool that you can work and help your grandsons like you do
This is coming along so cool Austin & Brent ! Thanks definitely enjoy this build !
It's good to see a young man interested in old cars! Who needs video games when you cab build cool stuff like his Buick. Looking forward to seeing as well as your custom truck on the road!
It's great u spend shop time with both your grandchildren..keep making memories
It's so awesome that you're willing to show your grandkids how to do all of this stuff. I hope they know how lucky they are. Not all Grandpa's do that. Plus the time you get to spend with each other is priceless 👌
The old Buick growled a bit. It is always wonderful to see a generational span working together.grandfather to grandson.
Using the Panhard bar and the coils and the triangle links is certainly the simplest way to go. You can run the open driveshaft where the torque tube used to go.
It’s coming along nicely so far
Another rear axle mounting system is the old tried and true Nascar rear suspension. Ford and Oldsmobile used it.
I hope Austin appreciates all the help you give him with that car. I really like seeing you work in your new garage it's really working out for you. The nice lifts and the smooth floor so you can roll cars around easy. Wish I had one like that.
Hey Brett I saw on another RUclips channel a guy with an old record truck with a sloped rear end like you're doing looks great keep up the good work and the great videos
It's a mental check list every time. Good to see y'all working together. Ronnie.
the look on Austin"s face when the motor fired uo is priceless
Austin car is getting closer! Enjoy watching and listening to you Brent!
I sure hope those grandkids know how lucky they are to have a grandpa to hang out and help them with their old cars. My grand parents On both sides where gone by the time I was six.
Your warmth and humanity shine out. Keep up the good work!
Awesome you two...Great work...👌🤠
How many times has that little forklift payed for itself ?
Lots haha
Austin is a handsome young man...
He will always remember hangin with grandpa building the Buick..
Some of my best memories was working with my dad on old cars, trucks & tractors..
He's 85 & his eyes are bad ...
But he'd still be up for some shop work if I asked him. Lol
Hi Bent, I could not help but notice the 63 or 62 T-Bird in the shop. Man that is my favorite car of all time. I had a 62 my senior year in High School mack in 1970. I am hoping ya can do it in Burgundy with a cream white interior. I almost got to buy a fully restored 62 T-Bird a few years ago but the Wife shot that down "it looks like an old mans car". dang.
Anyway, i look forward to your videos every day. they are a pretty big part of my now retired and lazy days. Thans!
That pile of rust that Austin swept from beneath the Buick is far smaller than the multiple piles of rust I’ve swept from beneath a vintage VW Beetle - those cars shed rust like a dog sheds his winter fur coat in the spring. Ah the joys of working on unibody cars.
Pablo ~ Careful Austin, don’t sweep up any of my dawg treats.🥶🇨🇦🤪
My Dad was a carpenter long since passed. Just sometimes I wish Dad was a mechanic. Backthen in highschool I wouldn't of been unpopular. Hopefully your kids share interest.
Man, that was good to hear the old girl fire up, Brent. As you say, she's one step (well, a couple now) closer to being able to move under her own power again......and I bet Austin can't wait! Speaking of the young fella - he's certainly getting more confident with the tools and around the workshop in general.....and that's great to see. It's a lot to learn with a steep curve on the learning process, but if he can walk (drive?) away with the rudiments and a basic know-how of what makes the car do what it does and keeps up the interest factor, he'll have a lifetime hobby that will keep him entertained until he's older than either you or me.....and it will always be something that he can enjoy the fruits of all his hard work as well. Keep going, Austin. You're doing fine, buddy - no matter what you may think of your efforts right now. Practice and experience will give you the speed and knowledge that Brent has....and I'm sure the "old fella" would be happy to offer advice if you are ever stuck. Just relax, go with the flow and never be scared to ask questions or put forward ideas. Brent will be able to tell you if they are possible or explain why they aren't and maybe you can come up with something else together. The Buick will be one mean cruiser when she's finished and that engine sounds strong.....so be glad there's a diff out of a 4x4 going into the beast, buddy! All the best.
Now to my original thoughts, you have the market cornered on lifts, 4 post,2 post, scissors, tables, fork lift and a lull, I feel like a caveman still using a jack and stands 😂😂, you must be in heaven with your new shop, it's awesome and I'm happy for you brother
Austin. Looks. So much. Like. His. Grand mother. Her. Genes. Are. Really. His. Thanks
So what engine/ transmission is going in the Buick?
It's in there already. 350/th350 combo.
Coming along nicely!
Nice to see Austin getting his car in the shop and fixing it up Brent!

Hi, a great episode, thank you! May I ask? There’s a music sequence from @ 27.00 that seems to have been left off your music list, can you tell me what it is please?
Austin is sooo lucky....my I never knew my grandparents.....
And I love old cars...never had anyone to hand me down anything
Never had anyone to teach me how to drive either....
Hope he appreciates this time
There’s nothing like a old Buick I’ve had to never had to do much to them feed um regular maintenance sure miss my 67 Buick Electra 430 4 barrel those were good old days
Da engine runs. N da swap meet 4 bar's tack'd ta a 4X4 S10 rear end. Special's grounded n bouncy sans shocks. Teamwork.
Dark outside when you brought Austin's car in. 'm guessing you're in amongst your shortest days of the year...we've not long passed out longest days, (summer here). Curious as...what time do you start work & finish?
I've developed my Dad's Disease...getting up at 4:45am is now sleeping in & I feel guilty about wasting time hahaha
Good stuff Austin, rockin an old car. He's only gotta keep that car 30 years & he'll be driving a 100 year old car & he won;t even be close to 50 hahaha
This video is rated “GS GD” (Grandson & Granddad). Contains intense heartwarming moments along with life lasting memories. Good on you Brent.
Excellent video Brent :) , Austin :) worked together on his Buick car and nice job guys also super 👌 👍!
Hey Hi again Halfass Costoms Brent and Ester, Austin great job on Buick you're going to be on the Road🎉👍🤩✌️
S-10 wheels look good on it but maybe a couple of inches higher. I from that 70's era we put air shocks on the back of everything :)that
Great progress on the Buick and in Austin's future! The shop is now back in it's comfort zone as if it's always been there. Quite a transformation in a very short time! Looks like you're back in the saddle again! Congrats, Cheers and all the Best!
Brent, you're a very jovial person and it makes your video so much fun to watch ! And you're a great grandpa. Have a beautiful week. Namaste🙏
This car is going to be nice Austin is learning a lot life skills he is so lucky to have somebody that will teach him you are totally awesome I enjoy watching everything you build
hope this is helpful for you and the young man , when you install the carb "put all the bolts in and open the throttle all the way and sung a couple to make sure that the butterfly's don't stick - next when you installed the distributor when after a few turn and drops you were 180 degrees away "you could have pulled out and turned the rotor" , and finally: when the dist is in and pointed to #1 put a spark plug in the #1 wire and ground it to the engine turn on the ignition power and turn the dist slowly back and forth , until the spark plug fires "snug the dist down just before spark" and the engine will start right up .... having fun is the most important part of the project your a lucky young man
Well if it isn't Mister Fancy Smancy three lift shop guy! You're a good teacher. Austin's getting better.
I'm really glad for Austin that he has such an amazing opportunity. A great learning experience and not just about vehicles.
