Of all the youtubers "will it run" videos , I like yours the best Brent , you don't constantly repeat the "we are gonna get this blah blah running thats been parked since 1812 and drive 50,000 miles to Antartica , its just you chillin working and having fun
They often say what they plan to do, film doing it, and then say what they did. Brent does a good job of keepin things rollin 👍
Just good old fashioned wrenching, old school style. No BS.
Brent, you are part of a lost breed. You have that "old timer" knowledge and know-how. Always enjoy your videos.
Best part Pablo going for a ride can’t beat that
I'm not sure just how many 1958 Fords are still around Brent, but I'm glad you snagged this one up. Cars back then were built solid.
Working and Pablo is happy, as always thumbs Up 👌👍
That tired old Ford still had enough life in her to show us that things were made to last in the 50’s. Really good video with you, a 58 Ford and Pablo.
And the General!
Good old-school mechanical skills and determination! Great to see. Plus 21st-century tools. And a healthy store of rusty parts. What a life.
That 58 Ford you bought is the exact mate that the parents of my best buddy purchased in 1958. even to the turquoise paint but I think it was a V8. My BUDDY is now 79 years old and I am 80.
I can't think of anyone that does these better than you. Thanks for sharing.
Nice to see "The General" back on duty. Thanks for sharing.
Brent it is just great that you just laugh at all the obstacles and carry on regardless. Thanks for sharing and take care.
it would be a perfect budget build. body work, floors, electrical, paint. would make a nice show car.
Skill, experience, persistance, a pile of used parts and "its a running and driving car". Perfect!
Nice old Ford, Brent. Little TLC and she would be a keeper. 👍 Take care and stay safe.
I’m in my late 60’s and remember those fords when i was a kid. I love seeing the old drum brake issues of my youth. I have gotten used to disk brakes but still keep my old drum brake tools including my cylinder hone and 2 spare sets of stones. Cant give up on the old cars till we run out of parts to repair them! Thanks for sharing this classic!
Brent I'm 68 you do things just like my dad did Great video thank you
Another great video Brent !!! Thank you!
Old Fords never die. They just take a nap sometimes till someone wakes em up.
I love these will it run and drive videos, especially on the old cars.
You and Pablo should do a video with Mortskie and Duff that would be awesome.
Great video Brent!
Pablo is great!! Glad he got to go for a ride. :-)
Brent , you are a marvel. Bing bang boom, another one lives again.
Love the patina and color combo
Sweet ride you and Pablo, glade to see the old ford drive again!
Amazing how these old car really want to run! Always learn something when I watch your channel.
Great patina. Pablo is a Ford guy after all.
Well that was fun, it ran pretty darn good in the end. Thanks Brent.
Always fun when they run
It is VERY CLEAR Pablo LOVES riding in that truck!
Pablo is the man.!
The more I see it the more I like it. Congratulations
That is the fun part of doing these "will it run and drive" videos when you investigate as to what is causing a problem. It is satisfying to figure out why a part fails and fixing it as with that starter Bendix. It seems as though once you got the valve train working and the engine has been running, it seems to run pretty good. That is a good six cylinder engine from Ford. That carburetor is a Holley carburetor with the thick glass bowl where you can actually see the float level. My Dad owned a 1955 International R120 series and it had the same carburetor. I remember looking at it when I was a little kid. That and the painted red valve cover (Dad always cleaned up everything and would paint parts) got me bit with the mechanical bug, a bug I have had for years.
You don't see that year, make and model very often.. looks good going down the road,
patina is just right. You got her limping back to life always good to see
Nice find! That Pablo is always ready for a ride! 👍😎
Only you can take a dead car and bring it back to life. Thanks Brent for the video
That 9" rear fits under a first gen mustang perfectly--great upgrade !! Check for a metal tag on one of the bolts,it will tell you the ratio of it !! A 6-stick might have a 4-11 in it !!
The self bleeding feature was very funny Thanks for your seance of Humer.
Brent, nice solo car rescue! Congrats! No worries re: the junk in the trunk, it's just a reminder that you probably have an LS in your stash! I had a Canadian 57 Ford 4 door V8 stick in Seattle in 1974 and it served two owners after me. In Nevada in 1971 I bought a very clean original US made Ford 4 door for $185 with a 3 speed stick and a factory T-Bird Interceptor V8, 4 barrel, dual exhausts and a near perfect original white over yellow paint scheme! Don't let the price fool you, it was a great looking and running ride! Good luck with your 58!
Another great video ! Thanks for bringing these cars back to life and share that with us !
Hi Brent and Esther, I had a white 58 Ford 352 Interceptor engine. Mine was an automatic trany. It was quite fast but not from the line. The era of couch seats! The GMC Roadster looks great!!Very glad you got to running! As always, God bless and take care from your long-time California subscriber 🙏 🤲
Minty !
Thank You for sharing your video, and letting us hang out .
Later ...
This is what I like the most of your videos: Bringing an old car home and make it run. Always a good lafther when you make it work. Thank you from Norway!
That's perfect music for a ride in a 58 Ford. Thanks Brent.
Such a good variety off builds
Love to see you do a complete refurbish on that old ford. including paint job. Steve
Love to see Austin's car back in the shop Brent
Pablo approved good job well done.
A complete car.... its complete with everything it comes with at the time!!!
I was born in '57 and my uncle had a junkyard he just had built it when I was three or four years old I worked down there all of my young life and learn lots of things I suppose you did too thanks for your videos
My late Maternal Grandparents bought a Red and White 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Fordor, new, back in 1958! Grandmother drove that car until 1969, when they replaced it with a brand new White 1969 Ford Galaxie Fordor! Ford used to call two door cars "Tudor", and the four door cars "Fordor" cars.
I enjoyed this episode, love seeing Pablo getting to cruise with you, Brent!
Love the 58 when I was growing up my mother bought a new 58 ranch wagon,I took my driving test in it. Thank you for the content
Another Gem Saved, So Freaking Neat!!!...
Brent you are the man. Getting the 58 Ford to run and drive. Nice job.
That cool Karl just repaired those fenders too funny
That a good video for sure and Pablo got a good ride.
When i saw the 223 six cylinder in there i knew it was going to run.the parts in the trunk was a bit concerning but as you said maybe they were planning on giving it a rebuild.great video as always.and i wish our dogs were half as cool as Pablo.
A new project? ... and it's a Ford Fairlane? EXCELLENT. I wouldn't think this is old enough for the category you usually work on. I keep hoping you'll do a Thunderbird at some point... but a Fairlane is ALMOST as good. It'll be interesting to see what you come up with on this. I remember Andrew Dice Clay in some movie when I was a teenager... and in that movie he had a beautiful Fairlane. I think there was one in Grease too. The ultimate 30s Cruiser. This is going to be fun to watch.
I'm still looking for the build series on the Buick... is it a playlist that I'm missing? or did you make it private? I didn't find it... but maybe I'm just missing it.
@@tylerbarrett6652 "Money, money, money WEEGEEHEEEHEEEWEEEH!!!" I quote that every so often come payday and no one ever knows what I'm referencing XD Ford Fairlane, Rock and Roll Detective
@@thequietestengine - I do... good one.
Brent, I am sorry I could not stop laughing it became crying. When you opened the box with the crankshaft. Wow .
I'd love to see the Fairlane more door revamped into a two door hard top. But that's just me....good luck on the new project...Mint!
Love the old cars had a 56 Fairlane when I was 17 it was a 6 cylinder 36 ,ooo miles bought from a friend cheap loved that car
. This brought back memories. Thanks Brent alwas great watching you work on these old car.
Let’s of fun !! That roadster truck SURE stand out - on the good dide
You can make anything run Brent! You never cease to amaze me! It's a runner!
After a BIG build, nothing beats joy like a throwback will-it-run - and this one harkens back to your best ones from way-back-when. As a matter of fact, this '58 Ford is a spiritual twin to the '58 Pontiac, two rides that deserve some good rat rod treatment and floors. No paint, no gussied-up frills, no upgrades - just DIY / path-of-least-resistance floors, brakes, lights, Mexican blanket seat covers and GREAT patina goodness. Those two '58s would be the pride and joy of any runner's row fleet - cheers!!!
That's cool. Didn't think it would work out so nice.👍
Great job, Brent - as usual. Always enjoy your “will it run/drive” videos. I think you should teach Pablo how to drive and give him the ‘58.
Amazing Brent....another one for ' runners row'....nice job.
👍🤠
Brent this brings back so many memories ! I learned to drive with a Ford , 52 , 6 cyc , 3 on the tree , and 2 door. Just before l got my license my daddy through a friend up traded to a 58 , Ford , small V8 , automatic , and 4 door . It took me a little time to adjust something with more power . The car was a light green with small white wall tires and l tried to keep as clean as possible living on a dirt road . My daddy said look boy don't worry so much its just a car ! I would get it on Friday or Saturday night to cruise a little with friends . A that time gas was only 19 to 22 cents a gallon and we would put our money together to buy gas because my dad said don't bring the car back empty boy ! So many great times to remember in this car with some young ladies ! Enough and great to see the 58 !
That 's a slick rig you've got there Brent..
Best build yet me thinks ??
I loved your bleeding technique through the floor and those old ford 6 bangers are almost unstoppable
Great job
I see favorite pickup sitting on the lift next to a Ford there. I love those Apache pickups
I did not realize that the 1958 had rear fins just like the 1963 Fairlane, I think I like the taillight covers are cooler on your car. The older cars and trucks had some really good body designs. Good one!
thx for sharing
Worth considering some love. Maybe floors?
Wow, this brings back memories. In school, learning to rebuild starters and generators. Some where I have a textbook on the subject. That and owning a 58 Edsel. Happy to see you get it sort of running and stopping.
Man, I hope you take that rebuild on full force. Thanks for another fun time.
Wow , That 58 Ford turned out to be a little gem , A diamond in the rough , so to speak . A little sketchy at the beginning but easy to work on and now back road drivable . Love that factory paint , It looks like its found a home . Thanks for the video , Stuart in Ontario ..
Let’s gooooo 👍👍
Awesome good pick
You amaze me. Other channels would have thrown in the towel with 2 dead cylinders. All the glass looks good, extra parts for the shelf, looks like all the trim is there, and Pablo got to go for a ride.👍. Thanks for another great video.
Super freaking cool. What a great car.
I'd spray engine parts in the trunk down with fluid film (or eq.) and store 'em inside to keep the rust off.
Great job on this, wish the floors were better shape, cuz I love a three on the tree w/a six popper.
Amazing how you can take an old relic and transform it into a run and drive unit in no time! you make it look easy!
Great video!
That did not take a lot to make it a runner. I drove a 59 Ford thru high school and beyond. This brings back memories. Thanks.
Way to go Brent, another runner, great fun watching you working you magic. Cheers.
I like your attitude and the way you go at a build. I also like big trucks, two tons or so. Thanks for sharing
Cool project
Brent friggin amazing how much you have been able to get this running
rockauto has the master cylinder and repair kit great work love watching every thing you do stay safe have fun
I like watching you get these old jewels going simply because you will fix and make work with what you have. For instance the wheel cylinders you fixed them and didn't run to the parts house and buy new ones. That is what sets you apart from the others
Great old ford, I'm happy to see it running!😊
That's a good looking car
They should have paid you to haul it away but good luck with it. Looking forward to what you do with it!
Great video fond memories of the 58 Ford when I was in high school my brother had and I used to drive it great Cruiser I wish I had it today and it was a four-door it was a two-tone brown color thanks for your videos
Good work
very enjoyable
This channel is great I look forward to seeing you
I really appreciate your content thanks again 👍🇺🇸
Brent jumped right back into a new project. I like the 1958 Ford. You da Man. Something that old is going to have host of problems. But there’s none better than you. You got a car to flip if you want. Love ya brother. 💯💕👊👍
