The value of this content is unmatched. Running Icewind Dale right now and this deep look into the lore has added layers to the game far beyond the campaign design. Well done!

The crystal shard wasn't destroyed after the battle of 10 towns. It was just buried in an avalanche

Sounds like the wiki needs a bunch of corrections ^^

And Aegis Fang was made for Wulfgar. It had nothing to do with the decision to reclaim Mithril Hall.

One location I think is vastly underexplored in recent editions is Westgate. Might make for a good video
Something else that I think would be useful for us DMs is mastermind level villains who aren't deities
Examples: Larloch, Zhengyi, Shoon VII, Xanathar (the history of the title and guild since there are many), Manshoon (all of the current clones), Slarkrethel, Tyranthraxus, the various drow villains, the various Malaugrym, some of the major chromatic dragons

Errtu is and was not a Demon Lord, this is actually an important distinction in the Forgotten realms setting. He is a Balor and (despite his appearances in the books) noted as being a strong Balor. However, he is not a Demon Lord and nearly eery Demon Lord would shred Errtu.

You are 100% correct, sorry for the error. One day I will make a better version of this video and fix that. Thanks for pointing it out.

Hmm placing Mithral Hall in Icewind Dale or the Tundra Frontier doesnt really fit. Last Time i checked FR Maps it was in the Area of Silverymoon, Citadell Adbar etc. on the "South Side" of the Spine of the Worrld.. Else very good Video with lots of Informations.

I have never understood why Aruil would be considered neutral evil.
A frozen unchanging world is would be a near ultimate expression of Law.
I think who ever wrote that character doesn't understand Morrcocks system that DnD was based on at all.
And even if someone makes an argument that it isn't law it is impossible to call it neutrality.

I hate how similar the whole Mithral Hall story is to the events surrounding the mines of Moria in LotR. I know D&D is heavily inspired by LotR but this story is lifted almost beat for beat.

True, it can be fun to add a twist or subvert tropes, but doing a straight homage is boring.

Can you link to the sources for the images in this video?

    • @Lorepaedia
      @Lorepaedia  5 месяцев назад +2

All the images are custom made for the videos with a couple AI models I made specifically to be accurate to DnD and some editing by me if they screw something up. Then I upscale them so they don't look terrible zoomed in.
At some point I would like to provide the upscaled images, scripts and new episode topics to supporters, I'm still improving the quality of the content, but I will definitely make a way to access the images in the future!
