You're awesome!
I didn't know Toy Story and Judge Dredd came out in the Super Nintendo days.. They seem like PS1 or PS2 era games
Toy Story on SNES is really blowing my mind.. Watching them play it now...
I'm 37 and I don't believe Toy Story is old enough to be on SNES... I was at least a teen when Toy Story came out. I was a kid when SNES was out..
I feel like I woke up today in another dimension.. Mandella Effect?
Im about to research this
@@interceptorgt7762 I've felt that way too, but it's probably because it came out in 1995, when Playstation and Saturn were already out
holy cow, u need to get a life.
Oh, man, that quick dismissal of SoulBlazer just breaks my heart.
It's like Actraiser meets Legend of Zelda.
Soul Blazer is one of the best games on snes and deserves another try.
Agreed. I haven't played it myself but it looked promising. I think he got annoyed over the menu mechanics.
Lol he just turned it tf off without getting to the action
Shadowrun one of the best games on the SNES, great music too.
Agreed, it is NOT a kids game, too complicated and hard, but it's a wonderful action RPG.
My heart dropped when somebody suggested it because I knew he wouldn't like it.
@TheHawkeyeful Same here man.
4 years later, and a perfect to start Christmas Eve. Hope all is well, Mike 🙏
Want to say thanks for the streams and getting me back into gaming
Helping me get through a divorce watching you play these classic games. Makes me feel better about life. Thanks Mike.
Pantera fan? :)
Stay strong game on!!
@@sleevelessace thank you brother!
Best of luck to you champ, keep your chin up🤟🏿
😂😅cuk
Didn't really give poor old Uniracers much of a chance, its considered a classic
MrTwinbee ehh i just couldn’t ha
@@mikematei That's fair enough it does take a while to learn. I think you would really like it if you learnt it
"hey guys tell me what to play and I'll ignore the good games you suggest so I can bitch that there no good games to play, then when you and 10 other people suggest the same game my mods will ban you for 5 hours" - Mike Matei, 2019
Maximum Carnage, too difficult eh?
his face at uniracers lmao
Soul Blazer was one of my favorite games on SNES it is part of the (Illusion of Gaia & Terranigma) games
Legend of the Mystical Ninja has a great style to it. It ages very well.
Wish I was live for this. Would love to see you try True Lies, a playable LJN game
Every time Im playing SNES on my flashcart, I end up switching games all the time like this xD
Hahaha same
1:28:20 Just for reference, you can use all your limbs as weapons in Plok. That's what makes it so cool.
Did you show Gilbert Gottfried your Iago impression?
The music in Plok was sooo good! Almost as good as Capcom? I like throwing the limbs around until you're bouncing around legless due to it.
I remember a friend asking, "What's a Plok?" I'm like I don't know. Ever since I can remember, I always wanted to be a Plok!
Wow, Plok and a Sailor Moon game in one stream? This has to be the best live stream ever. I really hope Erin does a whole playthrough of Plok. Is there any way to find out what Erin's schedule is for live streams?
At 50 min I'm just smiling. The music maies this too jolly :D
03:20:46 - Holy crap!! At the end they played Butthole Surfers to SNES footage!
That’s the epitome of the 90’s right there!!
Mike, play New Adventure Island for Turbografx. It’s way better than SNES version, which is not bad.
The Turbo version allows you to hold down jump button to speed run. The game relies more on momentum and the enemy placement is hard without being unfair.
It’s a very creative game.
I remember playing a lot of Uniracers as a kid. That soundtrack is awesome!
Glad you like skyblazer I found it randomly its good
You guys are in your fucking glory eating that mac and cheese! Love this stream. Watched it a few times. You guys need to do more of these types of streams together. Yes I realize this is four years old. Lol.
There's something about the way how bitter and mean Mike can seem sometimes that really cracks me up, I know people says this all the time but he truly is like the real life angry video game nerd.
He always was. James was just acting.
Plok is one of my favorite SNES, good to see it on your stream!
erin and mike are like the sweethearts of retro streamers
I didn't know that Addams Family Values was basically a Fester's Quest sequel on the SNES, now I'm interested.
lol didn't even bother to learn "Soul Blazer" at all. Well Mike's the one that misses out on a great game ..
SoulBlazer was one of my favorites on the SNES. Powerful story for a little kid to digest. Solid music too
Mike is only in it for the gameplay in his games. If the game don't starts in 10 seconds with loads of action he is not interested.
Ive been checking out all kinds of emulated snes and gba games the past few weeks and finding some really good ones
You brought me back to a lot’ve old games from my childhood that I didn’t even know the name of... 😑
You know what's great about the older games. You don't have to wait 10 years for it to update and than another 5 years just to load. Also why I enjoy the Switch because it doesn't take long to update either. And you can still play the game without having to update.
That logo is SUPER AWESOME!
Mike: "I'm gonna go get a drink"
*Comes back with a bag of chips*
Lol
I haven’t seen the whole video, but you should try super Alfred chicken! I loved that game!! My grandma bought it for me as a kid, and I thought it was so fun, hard too, but satisfying
Yep,Turrican was big in Europe...on cassette! If you had an Amstrad CPC, C64, MSX or Spectrum most likely, you had a copy of it.
True Lies on snes is actually good game despite being LJN. God forbid Mike would really give this game a chance and learn the controls...
He's physically allergic to more than 3 words on screen at a time and games with more than a d-pad and two button inputs for gameplay.
yea it lookslike a game iwould try rare ljn published beetlejuice and that game ia personal challenge to me as i have a personnal vendetta with since my childhood ljn on the nes was not the best bublisher but thye made a few good ones
Mike you are killing civi...
*completely ignores*
1:54:16 It's one thing to do the elmo voice, it's on an entirely separate level to do it while maintaining eye contact with another human being...
You know I always could see an adventure island and Bonks Adventure crossover. They are both hudson games, have similar art styles, and there are even dinosaurs in some of the adventure island games that you ride on. Quite possible that they take place in the same world at different times.
There was a Revenge of the Joker for the SNES but it was unreleased
Seeing you play goemons great adventure around the 25 min mark is awesome. You should definitely play a whole playthrough of it!
I hope one day you give a full shot at Axelay, is a great shooter for the SNES (if you liked it of course, I won't force you to play it if you don't want to), heck, if you're on the randomized stuff, you should try the combo of Super Metroid with Zelda A Link to the Past.
You played a bunch of SNES games (most of them I didn't played or heard about them at all), of the few ones I had played before this video (aside from Axelay which I mentioned that if you liked it you should give it a try), the Sailor Moon game you played can be challenging (unless you play the Chibi-Usa mode, and said mode can be played with 2 players... but you have to use a "kinda" cheat? code? to be able to do so), DOOM... well, the game looks bad (but the music is awesome in this version) but that's well known at this point, Mystical Ninja was a great game back in it's days, a shame that (under normal conditions) it wasn't included in the USA/EUR SNES Classic Edition, Toy Story... well, while the Genesis version (for me) is better, I can't say too much about the game (except that overall is fun, and with the invulnerability+unlimited lives cheat anyone can have fun with it, great to do it when you have kids playing it and you don't want them get too frustrated).
Okay, Soul Blazer talks about "The Master" in the sky sending his servant or whatever. This has to be related to ActRaiser 1 and 2
Plok was my absolute favorite SNES game next to Super Metroid. Glad to see you appreciate it too. And the music was tits.
Plok has one of the best soundtracks on the SNES. Tim Follin's best work in my opinion. The boss theme is Hotline Miami as hell for example.
I don't know if you have the game or can get it, but I always loved and still love "Pop'n Twinbee - rainbowbell adventures", I guess you should definitely try it, cause it's awesome and fast. Erin would love it for sure.
PS. It's not a twinbee shooter, it's a platformer or however you wanna call these games.
Also "jelly boy" is another pretty good game imo.
Ah man, there are so many great games on the Super Nintendo, but I don't know what else I could recommend to you, since I don't know yet which games you all played yet besides the obvious.
Lol, mike, you're crazy. In a fun way.
You and Erin are the best
too bad I missed the stream, I would really love to see you play adams family. one of my favorite snes games
I tried it out. One hit deaths right?
@@mikematei - no you start off with 2 hearts and earn more when you beat bosses. It seems weird at first but once you get into it, its a fun game
@@mikematei- Its an open world plat-former. With lots of false walls and secrets . It was a challenge when I was a kid similar to the original zelda where half the time you had no idea where to go
Soul Blazer is an amazing game but it's to much of story, atmosphere, puzzles and music for Mike.
Yes it is. Not everybody wants that kind of game. Deal with it.
The goal of the game is to get home to the bathroom so he can take his suit off hahaha
Gonna have to check out SkyBlazer
Ya know, I think those enemies in Batman:ROTJ are using the same voice lines that the enemies in Boogerman did when hit/killed...
When yall were playing legend at the end of the stream, did anybody else hear turtles in time boss music. Its not exact but they definitely used the same exact patterns just w/ diff notes. lol
Cybernator is a really good game. And it *is* related to Metal Storm.
Lol I was talking to the screen saying....is she talking about Tosh.O? And then once she said he has a show on Comedy Central I was like yup!! She's definitely talking about Tosh.O especially after Mike guessed Dane Cook? And she said no that only left Tosh lol
Mike Played Doom For 3 seconds and said F thattttttttt 😂
have you played lost vikings? that's kinda the beginning of blizzard fantasy style
He's gotta try Chuck Rock eventually!!!
Skyblazer looks like a really fun game. Would like to see a playthrough.
I'm not a huge fan of castlevania chronicles but I do like it. I did buy it the day it came out on playstation. Some games I buy the day of release instead of waiting incase it might become hard to find later like panzer dragoon saga, the US version of gravity rush for ps4 and other Saturn games for instance sense the system didn't sell well in the US.
lol the gadget joke
Haha, the complete disrespect to Soul Blazer and Shadowrun... Incredible games.
i was trying out games briefly. maybe id play them more someday later
@@mikematei Shadowrun has always been my favorite SNES game, I'd love to see you give it a proper go. :)
Shadowruns awsome. Really should give it a chance
okay mike, you got me, i subscribed
ryan h thanks!
The nostalgia feelings! Thank you for your gameplays you're the best Mike.
Awesome
Revenge of the Joker is soooooo much better on NES. Give it a try.
man there be plenty awesome snes games
1:23:07 Smarterchild was fun to insult.
Mike hates in Super Turrican you can only shoot forward, but thats pretty much every mega man game.
@@tartuffethesprywonderdog5883 I just played Pocky & Rocky and I never played it before. One of the best SNES games I have played. Skyblazer is awesome. Never played it before this stream.
Super Turrican is good, but if you're used to Contra I can get that you wouldn't like it. Growing up in Europe I never cared for Contra because once you've experienced the expansive level design of the Amiga Turrican games Contra just feels too basic. The Amiga ones are far better than the SNES games.
The way you get frustrated and quit SNES games in 5 mins is how I get when I'm going through my GBA libraries of games lol! :D
I have actually beaten Sky Blazer! Good game but with a few flaws
Outside of North America, Adventure Island was known as Wonder Boy.
So...Disney's Hercules...
Legend of the Mystical Ninja is one of my favorite snes games.
Cat House games just released a translation sailor Moon cartridge for the Genesis. Not sure if Erin knew about that or not.
Matt Roga ok i told her

@@mikematei I was shared this as I wasn't aware this discussion came up. I'm the owner of CatHoues Games. Send me a message and I'll send you a complimentary copy. I also have a copy of Mega Man: The Wily Wars if you are interested.
Hey Mike to get out of the game try up and select. It works for my nes classic. It may work.
Mike, you should have checked out Hyperzone. It is a F-Zero, Space Harrier gameplay. A game I discovered on accident playing on my usb drive hacked SNES classic.
that fighting game looks just as cool as golden axe
Erin makes me hungry talking about food
1:11:50 Nick Swardson?
Soldier of Fortune is Chaos Engine everywhere else. A great game by the bitmap bros
You gotta stream bad dudes one day for the Nintendo
It hurts soo much watching you play Plok! you missed soo many secrets and you never use the big spin jump? lol XD
Does anybody know a good online store to buy snes?
You should play Athena.I love that game.
mike мне приятно было видеть как ты играешь в fm towns marty продолжай в том же духе
Great stream
Call me nosey, but when you and Erin took a break I wondered what the hell you two were doing lol
Hotdamn, after this stream upload all I want is shells n cheese 😢
dang man soul blazer looked really cool you shouldve had more patience
Great stream, you should try to beat Mr Nutz!
It's very easy to tell Mike prefers instant gameplay and satisfaction rather than story and development then a lot of satisfaction :) People are different that way i guess, still interesting to see what he thinks about my favorite games :) Maybe sometime he has more patience it would be interesting to go back to some of these for him :) We had a lot more time back then, and a lot less games XD
I definitely want the game on immediately. I dont want to wait or listen to any bullshit. If they want to give me story elements, they need to earn it after I’m already invested in the game for a long time.
@@mikematei I get that, yet some of the games you jumped over has some good gameplay coming up but you dismissed them because they weren't giving instant gratification :) I think you might enjoy the whole Soul Blazer saga for example. It develops into Illusion of Time/Gaia. Very zelda-esque. But yeah i suppose it is alot of text to begin with. SNES for the win
@@prefix331 Yup. Very true.
Mow the lawn slash cooking stream. ;)
Name s and Mike play Contra 3 on Hard mode! Or maybe start on easy mode, then normal and then hard so you guys are warmed up and ready.
Mike, you don't need to be a circle, just red...just really really red. And some sun-glasses.
Daniel Tosh is the bear on Brickleberry really funny show
Tyrannicon intro at 2:42:30!
