Alex Hirsch stated once that they had a fully fledged out idea for an art book. It was totally all planned out and everything was ready. LITERALLY. Everything was ready. Then it was canned without any explanation. Even Alex Hirsch had no idea why it was canceled.

Yes, Gravity Falls ended "perfectly," and season 3 could end up being a disaster, that's why I want extra little stories without an overarching plot, like the shorts between S1 and 2, maybe make extra shorts about mini adventures, more comics like lost legends, or somehow finally getting to see what happens "next summer," etc. But the main arc ended pretty well, and adding another season could just end up tainting the show's reputation.
I mean the thing about GF is that there was plenty of unexplored story potential-and some of them can only be conveyed via animation or an expansion of the story.
I agree with this completely. Like obviously if there was a season three the fans would watch it, but would it be good? Id love a christmas special or some shorts with the sea grunkles or something like that though

I have a book called “Dipper and Mabel’s Guide to the Unexplained (and fun)” or something like that. it’s basically a book where Dipper and Mabel take turns writing in a book. Whenever I feel like reliving the magic and nostalgia, I read that book. it does such a great job of capturing the characters’ personality.
Hirche said he only meant for two seasons. And considering how many animsyed series get cancelled right on a cliff hanger, im glad the whole story was told. Fun fact, the two seasons translate to the two months that summer vacation lasts

There’s one book I have, I think it’s called “don’t color this book” it’s a gravity falls coloring book with story, made by Alex, it’s pretty good honestly, and they’re are other little books about other stories, plus journal 1 & 2
I watched Gravity Falls just a couple years ago as an adult and still think of it as one of the best shows I've ever seen; it has insanely good writing, easily lovable characters, and tells a kind of story that's appreciable by people of all ages
The song gets more depressing when you remember that this was sung to people going to war to encourage them not knowing if it would be the end and the comments on the song bring me a smile

My whole family still regularly watches gravity falls. I don't think I've gone a week without watching at least one episode of it in the past year. It'll always be so special to me and it really makes me happy that the fans are keeping the show so alive even after it ended YEARS ago! (Also, we watch it on Hulu cause we don't like that the diney+ version removed the symbol on Stan's hat, like ehem, no.)
The term is Story Consultant, which means he (if you squint a little) basically wrote the story with other people’s help. If he didn’t like how a line or joke was portrayed, they would have to rewrite it. He may have done a few original jokes here and there, but the majority was written by the main writers for the movie. (Also can we all agree this title is a lot better than Connected? The whole thing give me Scott Pilgrim vs. The World vibes)
Dipper’s journal, at least for me, came with a little thing to keep it safe. On a side of it you can open it up. I went to the one part wrote my the maker of gravity falls. Many letters got greyed. Hmmmmmm. Edit: it says ‘stayweird’ Nice one, Alex Hirsch! *Mom where is a pen?!*
I just watched the full series for the first time, and I'm sad I'll never live with the hype of the live releases. I honestly think the show ended really neatly, just one summer of events with the hint these characters would continue on in their lives. "See you next summer" doesn't feel like a promise of another season to me (obviously I came in later and know nothing else is coming, but still) it feels like a nice bookend to the series. It opens at the beginning of the kids' summer, and ends on their travel home. Cathartic ending with a feeling that these characters won't stop once the cameras are off and the animators leave, which is really hard to nail. I would love, love, love more GF, but I respect Alex Hirsch's need to only make 2 seasons even more. From an artistic storytelling perspective, it's pretty clear Alex had a lot he wanted to tell, but the workload steamrolled him. Aside from the Book of Bill coming out later this year, I'd love if Alex chose to continue the universe in some way, small things like Alex's confirmation that the GF universe wasn't ravaged by COVID thanks to McGucket made me laugh. And honestly? I think GF lives on through the fans.

Honestly a lot of shows get funnier the longer they go on, too. Like Bob's Burgers and Boyz 4 Now - where Louise develops a crush on One Direction/98 Degrees' youngest member Boo Boo. Hell, just how the band is staving off girl fans is hilarious now considering that they and boy bands in general are no longer mainstreamly popular anymore outside of, like, K-Pop or some kind of gimmick attached. Even the mockery of boy bands is kind of dead, too.
I was watching Gravity Falls with my mom (I finally dragged her into animation, she's hated cartoons since I was a kid) and I almost forgot how old the show was until that bit... I felt old for sure.
I hope the other 2 journals get created in real life at some point but I also think their entries aren’t fleshed out enough to make such a thing easy. It would be cool both to see the way larger set of entries not in the show from 1 and 2 as well as the blacklight secrets (provided a limited edition gets made of them too) of both though.
I've read lost legends. I did more than read it. I went through the entire book, finding every single secret codes message in it, decoded it, and then made so many theory's based on it. Its a great read, gives so much more content and SO MUCH more lore on the gravity falls universe.
The fact that it ended so perfectly and was just executed so indescribably extraordinary makes me SO MAD because if they did anything else with the show specifically it'd feel like a cheap cash grab and it hurts because I want more content :(
I’m afraid that soon we’ll be needing “Pretending Infinity Train Isn’t Over.” If you haven’t watched Infinity Train, WATCH IT. It’s AMAZING, and needs all the support it can get so that maybe it can continue.
You know technically, the owl house, amphibia, and gravity falls are connected not only cause they share at least one actor and at least one writer and at least one animator (although it may only be one of each depending on the show) along with references and easter eggs within each show. So, if disney ever really wants to, they could do a huge crossover maybe as a video game. Maybe as a big crossover event. And God I hope they do.

I' really love a SU: Future. Take a massive timeskip; give us a film and a short epilogue series to give us one last adventure and just show us where everyone went. But let it be the number of years that's passed in the real world.

Because Gravity Falls has been over for about 5 years now, the only thing keeping me going is the different AUs. There's a lot of nice fan-made content and the perks of technically-being-a-new-fan is that there's a lot left to consume. The show has a good ending.

Gravity falls has such a perfect ending but the universe of it makes you want to see so much more of everything in it... That curiosity is part of what makes this one of my favorite animated shows of all time.
Just a cool little thing, Alex Hirsch and Shion Takeuchi are working together on a brand new show called Inside Job. It has a very similar artstyle to GF from the teaser image shown, and is about a group of people, living a normal life, only for it to be turned supernatural, with conspiracies galore in a world where there's no one you can trust. BOY DOESN'T THAT SOUND FAMILIAR? It's not GF Season 3, but dammit it's absolutely the next best thing.
To the people asking how to create your own episodes when you sleep here is how: first you choose whatever episode you want to continue on or you could start at the end of the last episode then decide to add any characters such as yourself or characters from movies and or shows you have seen then the rest is up to you

Honestly a lot of shows get funnier the longer they go on, too. Like Bob's Burgers and Boyz 4 Now - where Louise develops a crush on One Direction/98 Degrees' youngest member Boo Boo. Hell, just how the band is staving off girl fans is hilarious now considering that they and boy bands in general are no longer mainstreamly popular anymore outside of, like, K-Pop or some kind of gimmick attached. Even the mockery of boy bands is kind of dead, too.
I was watching Gravity Falls with my mom (I finally dragged her into animation, she's hated cartoons since I was a kid) and I almost forgot how old the show was until that bit... I felt old for sure.

I hope the other 2 journals get created in real life at some point but I also think their entries aren’t fleshed out enough to make such a thing easy. It would be cool both to see the way larger set of entries not in the show from 1 and 2 as well as the blacklight secrets (provided a limited edition gets made of them too) of both though.
I've read lost legends. I did more than read it. I went through the entire book, finding every single secret codes message in it, decoded it, and then made so many theory's based on it. Its a great read, gives so much more content and SO MUCH more lore on the gravity falls universe.

I was so happy when I saw the title then I saw the word "Pretending" and I was like "OH back to crying in the corner".
I wanted season 3 so bad I convinced myself there were 3 seasons and was therefore confused when he said there were only 2 seasons

The fact that it ended so perfectly and was just executed so indescribably extraordinary makes me SO MAD because if they did anything else with the show specifically it'd feel like a cheap cash grab and it hurts because I want more content :(

You know technically, the owl house, amphibia, and gravity falls are connected not only cause they share at least one actor and at least one writer and at least one animator (although it may only be one of each depending on the show) along with references and easter eggs within each show. So, if disney ever really wants to, they could do a huge crossover maybe as a video game. Maybe as a big crossover event. And God I hope they do.

reality sucks, clinging to a show that makes you nostalgic is a coping method.
Because Gravity Falls has been over for about 5 years now, the only thing keeping me going is the different AUs. There's a lot of nice fan-made content and the perks of technically-being-a-new-fan is that there's a lot left to consume. The show has a good ending.

Gravity falls has such a perfect ending but the universe of it makes you want to see so much more of everything in it... That curiosity is part of what makes this one of my favorite animated shows of all time.

Just a cool little thing, Alex Hirsch and Shion Takeuchi are working together on a brand new show called Inside Job. It has a very similar artstyle to GF from the teaser image shown, and is about a group of people, living a normal life, only for it to be turned supernatural, with conspiracies galore in a world where there's no one you can trust. BOY DOESN'T THAT SOUND FAMILIAR?
It's not GF Season 3, but dammit it's absolutely the next best thing.

To the people asking how to create your own episodes when you sleep here is how: first you choose whatever episode you want to continue on or you could start at the end of the last episode then decide to add any characters such as yourself or characters from movies and or shows you have seen then the rest is up to you
