  • This was my personal experience about using this product, for me it was effective, I have almost a couple of years of problems with my car overheating issue, after using this, my car never deals again bout overheating, even when I have stuck in heavy traffic or even on a long ride, I'm very happy and satisfied I've tried this product before deciding to change my entire engine, well actually this is my last resort if its fail I have probably spent more money to change my engine, but it's not, in fact, I've saved more:)

    So far its working on my 2012 Chevy Sonic. Blew the head gaskets due to a radiator hose busting. Had coolant in the oil. White smoke coming out of the muffler. Had a loss of compression. Would have to crank the car for like 5 minutes to get it to turn on. Sometimes it wouldn't even turn on. Which was my biggest concern because most of the videos the vehicles turned on right away. I did change the oil before I put the sealant. But it's going to need a flush at a lube Express. Car still struggles a little bit to turn on. But only like 30 seconds under a minute for sure. I'm hoping some new spark plugs could fix that. It definitely has compression now. No more smoke

    Hi, so i can do this without a thermostat? My concern is that without the thermostat the product will flow into the engine while its cold , is there a risk that the product mixes with the engine oil and gets inside? That would be a disaster?.
    Because with thermostat the product will only reach the engine when it is hot and would seal inmediatly ? Please help

    • @Matt-nj
      @Matt-nj Год назад

      The lack of a thermoset is an asset, you want to get the sealer into the coolant surfaces in the engine. The heating/cooling cycles should find, mend, and bond (hopefully) to the compromised gasket area. Good luck!

      @@deneshiamattis2740 I think he means as you add the warm water/Bar's mix, I turned the engine on and the radiator burped so I could add more of the mixture. All of the 3 liters warm water + 1/2 bottle of Bar's was too much for my 1.7L engine. I will add the remainder as I doo the run/cool cycles. My Honda Civic overheats and blows coolant, but I have high hopes this fix will work.

    UPDATE: Last Nov 27, 2021, my overheat indicator shows up again, probably the seals burst once more, so I intend to do the procedure to reseals it using the remaining half bottle, I made the procedure the same as it was, but on the last part, after leaving the system drained for 24 hrs, I flushed it again with running water and filled it with distilled water, sadly after driving a couple of KMS the old overheating problem persists again up to now, therefore the remaining half didn't work.
    4,421kms total mileage from May 31, 2021 (ODO: 100609) - Nov 27, 2021 (ODO: 105030)
    I'm planning to use other products again probably k-seal pour and go and I will also make a video and share the experience of using this I'm hoping for a positive outcome.
    Stay tuned!

      Were you supposed to flush the heater core also? Was that why it didnt work? I have the exact same bottle and it says ALL coolant must be removed.

    • @fixedan
      @fixedan  Год назад +1

      just flush the cooling system properly, then fill it with bar leaks and distilled water, then follow the instructions on video, the idea is, the cooling system must be cleaned from contaminants that may reduced the ability to seals, and also let the solutions circulate on the system so that the solution will penetrate properly, thats why the procedure was turning and shutting down the engine from time to time with enough time and interval to cool down, for sure thats the way how the solution works

    It worked on my Honda Civic 1.6 ltr. Once the engine overheated due to a faulty thermoswitch which caused the cooling fan not to turn on, the head gasket probably cracked, and some water made its way into the oil. I poured 8 ounces of Barr's into radiator, ran. engine at high speed with the heater at full blast for 15 minutes. No more white smoke coming out the exhaust pipe and changed oil and spark plugs. After 4 weeks of regular driving, i cleaned the oxygen sensor with a wire brush and installed it back. No more check engine light, and compression reading was 155 lb per cylinder. #1 was reading 120 back then. No more coolant consumption. Barr"s is the magical treatment. Saved me time and money. Barr's gave me plenty of time to save money and replace the cracked head gasket with a new one. The engine is on its way to 600K miles as of May 2024. Barr's was recommended to me by a highly experienced engine technician . I therefore highly recommend this magnificent product!

      the auxiliary fan is the fan attached on your radiator, on cold start with ac off, run the engine on idle and for about 20 mins to 30mins the fans should automatically start, thats the indication that the engine reach the normal operating temperature and by this time your thermostat should already opens if this is functioning properly. with this, the solutions that you filled on the radiator circulates from radiator through engine

    PLEASE HELP!!
    I'm from India, Here this costs 7000 Indian money where as an OEM head gasket costs 5500.
    For replacing the head gasket I got the following quotation:
    For the *Mechanic* to disassemble and refit the engine: 5000
    for the Machine shop to resurface the block and head: 5000 (if it goes that far)
    OEM VAG head gasket : 5500
    So basically head gasket 15500 and 7000 for this Bar's leak. Just twice as much and not a huge difference like in the US.
    My coolant and oil are mixed very badly, the Car overheated a lot to the point where it shut off after 15 minutes yet very little white smoke though. After I noticed this problem I haven't used the car again! So This problem just occurred within 2km away from the current odo reading.
    Asked some Skoda superb and other VW owners and they say it could be an issue with oil cooler. But I personally fear it could be the gasket. So will the car emit white smoke if the oil cooler has gone too? Or is it just a minor leak in the head gasket that there was only very less white smoke? please clear my doubts as I brought this car against my parent's will and the whole family hates me now.

    • @fixedan
      @fixedan  2 года назад +2

      for me I think your already have blown head gasket, cracked head or block that needs to be ovehaul just like you've shown quote to us, why dont you give it a shot for a 1 bottle? if you have 4 cylinder engine you will just use a half bottle, if its not? do the procedure twice, maybe it will work somehow
      before i came up to this procedure, my engine was overheated and overhauled, they change all oil seal, head gasket, resurface the engine block ang and cylinder head, after the car was repaired I used it and I noticed this problem, I asked the mechanic and they said that they think that the block and cyl head was resurfaced before, thats why theres still compressions that causes the problem
      in other words the engine block and cyl head resurface was overdone already and even if they retight it
      as of now the coolant is not mixing on the engine oil, but i have notice some oil was building up on my rad cap after driving (like creamy whitish), i think there's still little leak coming from engine so i planning to use the bar leaks engine oil seal next

Since you mentioned that the heads can't be resurfaced twice, can this bar leak's be used twice. it actually worked. my Honda Civic FD was experiencing slight coolant leaking somewhere i couldnt find. Everytime i go for a drive for 40km and up, i end up with lesser coolant everytime. I checked my engine oil cap and the oil is normal, the coolant does not even contain oil contamination, its still clean. Its been like that for months. I decided to try this because the only sign i have a problem with my head gasket are bubbles. I can see slight bubbling in my reservoir when the engine gets heat up after a long drive. I also see rhythmic bubbling when i open the rad cap to observe. I followed every single bit of instruction this video had and it worked. From 95-98 degrees celcius of temperature when i drive to 83-90 degrees celcius only. The coolant level is not dropping anymore as well. it maintains the max mark for 4 days now after doing this procedure. I hope this works well for a long time, haha. Thank you for the video!
