BMW 750LI (2008) It was loosing jug of coolant every week. Yes this works but i did add some extra popyseed with it. in two day the car was running like new. thanks for uploading great video❤
It can work. I had a lot of Volkswagen t3, at least 10 had cooling system problems. I always used chemical products like you. As long as the engine is running and not overheating, I prefer this solution. Don‘t forget to check, if there is water in the oil. If it doesn‘t work immediately, don‘t worry. Sometimes, it takes some days, it is a chemical reaction.
Sodium Silicate , Water Glass ! The copper is added as a filler . Sort of like when a few tree branches cover a drain Culvert. Then the smaller branches cover the bigger branches, now the culvert is clogged . Water Glass is easy to make . Soda Ash, fine Silica and Water .
This is the first day l've had off from my "e"type in over a month . That's probably why l'm sat in front of my tablet. Thanks Adam . It looks slightly warmer ! Take care and stay safe.
Over 60 years of car ownership and many years as a mechanic I have found all these so called magic fixes to be useless and you wondered why these products are still made, it's simple. As Barnum said " there's a fool born every minute" A worthwhile experiment just to show that there ain't no easy fix for a major problem. Love your videos. Now I need to fix my Stype heating issue. Need to replace the distribution valve which seems to be seized. Not the easiest job to get to!
Sorry mate I am using this stuff have been for years recommended it to friends they can't believe it works........ as I said here earlier it's been in my 3.8 V6 for about 4 years an 60,000 kilometers and still running fine.......the guy sold me the car because it was overheating lol.........$65 fixed the problem....all the best to ya!
This helped my 2007 Saturn Vue 3.5 for a few months, well it helped the coolant burning anyway. The engine was still running sketchy for a while. It's started running much smoother over time, but the smoke has come back, and coolant is slowly being burned. I'm going to try Blue Devil next.
It can't be easy at those temperatures to discriminate between smoke from incorrect mixture and simple condensation from combustion. (That's likely the source of the water dribbling from the exhaust.) They look very similar, but I expect you can tell by the smell.
Another great video Adam. I’ve tried something similar before to good effect, but I drained the coolant out first before putting the sealant in with fresh water. After the problem was fixed, I drained the cooling system again and put fresh coolant in. I did this about 5 years ago and the car is still in daily use! I suspect it depends on how bad the gasket is as to whether the sealant works or not.
Exactly I got my wagon cheap because the seller knew it had a blown head gasket I put the Nulon version of this stuff in it that was 4 years and 60,000 kilometers ago it certainly works....in my experience...the guy I purchased the wagon from keeps asking is it still over heating I just smile and say nope I put Nulon in it......
Thanks for giving it a try and sharing the results! I seem to recall that those cooling system sealants are better at things like a head gasket leak than an internal fault like a cracked block.
Hi Adam, that particular product is a good one, I have had success with it in Jaguars and other engines before. Shame you are not in NZ, I have lots of good engines...
Adam, I had a 1986 XJ-6 with low compression on 2 cylinders and coolant in the oil. i used a different brand of head gasket can fix. I had to drain the oil and the coolant. The directions said to do it all twice. It worked and still works now two years later and 5 k. miles. Check consumer reports for the best stuff which is much more involved. I think this was a Lucas product but let me double check as I forget which brand., but I think it was made by Lucas. Don't give up--try try again.
I bet it is a crack in the top of the block. The 4.2L engines can sometimes develop cracks between the cylinders if the engine has been overheated in a really bad way.
@@jensenhealey907efi Think you're on it there, considering the symptoms. As a performance engine minimising the cast steel in the block compared to an engine from 'the big three' (Ford, GM, and Chrysler), it is more susceptible to internal cracks with overheating...
Adam, the only time I've had success with one of these sealant products is in an emergency situation on the side of the road. They can be helpful in improving for a brief time, but, in the way a spare tire is meant to be temporary. Thanks :)

Head gasket sealer does indeed work if it's a leak into the coolant system from the head gasket. That bottle worked for a few weeks to a month, I switched to head seal, let's see how long it goes for.

We will all look forward to an engine change on the Jag later in the year when the weather and your pocketbook can accommodate it!
I suggest pressuring your cooling system to cap pressure and firstly keep your eye on it. Then start your engine and if the cooling pressure increases you have a combustion leak into the cooling system. I can't remember if you've also tried a coolant analyser whilst running. I have no experience of them but the first test is pretty good.
i would suggest checking head bolt torque especially with rebuild and new gasket .with all the effort youve put into that engine you deserve some better luck.

Unsure if that exhaust "smoke" is just steam condensing in the cold ambient temp? When gasoline burns, water vapour is a combustion product. For headgasket check, you need to do a compression test.
