Over in New Zealand we don't have The Good Morning Show so I cant comment about what Phillip is like on it. The only show I've seen him on is The Cube which I really like, and to be honest Phillip comes across as a genuine nice guy, nothing like what people are saying about him lately. I just mean that it aroused my suspicions that there was some reason that he was coming out at that particular time. I might be right, i might be wrong. But my opinion was that there was a reason that he was coming out then - and I (as we all are) am entitled to my opinion. I used to watch BBC children's tv in the 1980s and it was obvious he was gay; all the tell-tale signs were there: he was far too good-looking, he was squeaky clean, there was not a hair on his body - all classic signs of gayness. (I speak as a gay man myself even though my average looks, lack of saintliness and excessive body hair mean I do not fit the usual mould!). I remember some show he appeared on maybe 20 years ago, some guy wanted to kiss him and Schofield replied: 'When Hell freezes over!' To me, such a denial clinched his gayness! He was desperately in denial so as not to lose all those millions of blue-rinsed haggard robots who watch that crap show and who would not recognise a gay man even if he wore a shirt emblazoned with 'Gay Pride" - I am not exactly sure what 'gay pride' is, well, I am 66 and all that modern 'woke' shit has left me high and dry.

I think there's no denying that PS was regarded at a lofty level amongst the audience of the show. There are certainly qualities and attributes PS possessed that was generally admired, otherwise he wouldn't have survived for 2 decades presenting the show as well as being the face of it for such a lengthy time. If he hadn't revealed about the affair with the bloke, then I don't think the public would have ever known. But he chose to share it and followed it up by doing the right thing; stepping down from the show! Humans all make mistakes and because PS is a public figure, he is recieving such high level of backlash. Otherwise, if he was just some random bloke that lived in your neighbourhood, people wouldn't careless about his marriage and what he did. We need to review where Holly made her fame and how the national television audience have come to know of Holly Willoughby. She was slowly creeping into the British public eye I think from a sense of feeling sorry for her. When she was on Keith Lemon show, she was constantly and ruthlessly being annihilated by Kieth. And sat there in the show panel stage sulking in every shade and insults thrown her way. She just sat there like a sad puppy and was treated like a typical blonde bimbo.

Philip Schofield, for some reason, has always made my flesh creep - in a similar manner that Jimmy Savile did. There's just something a bit... 'off' about him. Indefinable, but enough for me not to want to watch him. He always seemed far too nice. Nobody is that nice. Yes, he's gay, but that does not bother me in the slightest. I used to watch BBC children's tv in the 1980s and it was obvious he was gay; all the tell-tale signs were there: he was far too good-looking, he was squeaky clean, there was not a hair on his body - all classic signs of gayness. (I speak as a gay man myself even though my average looks, lack of saintliness and excessive body hair mean I do not fit the usual mould!). I remember some show he appeared on maybe 20 years ago, some guy wanted to kiss him and Schofield replied: 'When Hell freezes over!' To me, such a denial clinched his gayness! I think there's no denying that PS was regarded at a lofty level amongst the audience of the show. There are certainly qualities and attributes PS possessed that was generally admired, otherwise he wouldn't have survived for 2 decades presenting the show as well as being the face of it for such a lengthy time.
If he hadn't revealed about the affair with the bloke, then I don't think the public would have ever known. But he chose to share it and followed it up by doing the right thing; stepping down from the show!
Humans all make mistakes and because PS is a public figure, he is recieving such high level of backlash.

There is always some moron who defends Philip Schofield who will say something like "You only feel that way because he is Gay! YOU HOMOPHOBE!" ... And you just proved that point!
Say GAY at all, You are a Homophobe... Unless you are LGBTQ+... NO! That is not how it works...
I actually understand what he is saying... Sexuality be damned... Brian appears to be an older person such as myself who maybe grew up watching Schofield in the Broom Closet on the BBC... And while I was a fan of the Silver Fox... Yes, I get it... Philip Schofield was so Squeaky Clean... So "Butter would not melt" that you always ended up singing Adam and the Ants... "Don't Drink, Don't Smoke? What do you do? There must be something inside!"
For once in Philips defence - The Culture at the BBC demanded this back then... They were not just covering up Jimmy Saville, There was an "Image" to protect... No one Openly Gay could be seen presenting a Kids Station, The News, Have major presenting roles... it was "Just not British!" - Only in hindsight do I see he was hiding as when you know, you can see tell tale signs of discomfort!
And honestly, The BBC has not changed...
However, I hope by highlighting that - @brianartillery can see a boarder picture... If Schofield was to get anywhere in the Industry, what he had been taught was "Stay Hidden! NEVER admit you are Gay!" - That was the culture his career began in... He has been living that for 40+ years now. And 27 years married... While our society is far more accepting, Coming out is not that easy! Especially when it has been your life to stay hidden...
@@stargazer2019 - Your jumping to conclusions is more worrying. He was on BBC Children's TV in the late 1980's and early 90's, and he gave off a creepy vibe even then. He was just too nice, too squeaky clean. Nothing to do with being gay - he only came out recently, but something that just didn't feel right. You either know what I mean, or you don't. I suspect the latter, as you were so quick to label me a homophobe.
