    I got that board almost two years ago when it came out. Still my favorite one (till I don't have to do strong duck dives)

    Showing my age, i still see the fish & this as from the kneeboard genre.

    I went BIG with mine, 5.11 41ltrs, I'm 75kg. Loves to get in early and is nice and fast might be due to being oversized but I find it doesn't like a late drop - great grovler, handles chop and up to head high.
    I'd buy another one with less volume for better days too

      I'm the same age, 78kg, and surf a 5'7 seaside in everything from clean 2 footers to chest high. It is the only board I really ride anymore. Took it out yesterday in 1-2ft clean short period swell with machado keels and had a blast. My expectations were low since the waves were so small and weak, but I ended up catching more waves then the guys on mid lengths and long boards. Even had a few nice lefts where I was able to pull off a couple quick bottom turns and snap off the lip. I also have a 5'6 but I only take it out when it is chest high plus and I'm not wearing much rubber to make duck diving a tad easier. The 5'7 just paddles faster, catches easier and it is noticeably faster once you're up and going. At our age a little extra volume is a good thing. The tail is so refined on this board that no matter what size you get, you will be able to whip it around with ease. But if you really want the 5'6 you could get away with it, just don't go any shorter.

    @dubbs1923 5 лет назад +4

    Definitely recommend going in more liters if you plan on surfing it in smaller waves. I have the 5’6 at 32L and feel like I could of gone up in size to a 5’7. I’m 77 kg

    I got this board a few months ago. Helium floats and paddles very well. It was waist height and kinda mushy the first time I rode it and thought it was great. Really fun board. I rode ir as a quad and also as a twin. I liked it more as a twin with the Machado keels. I am 77kg and got the 5’8” 35.4 litres. However, when I surfed this board in bigger surf, shoulder to overhead it became really hard to dig the rail in the water for bottom turns or cutbacks. It got me really frustrated. I am thinking about selling it and getting the 5’6” 32.7 litres. that would probably work better for my weight.

      Maybe try a really loose pivoty quad set like a med reactor or performer set when its bigger?

    Hi, I'm 5'7 '' 140 pounds
    my level is intermediate advanced, my usual table is a no brainer 5´4 and gamma 5,6 on somewhat larger days
    But now I wanted to buy a seaside and I doubt between 5.2 and 5.3 . Which one do you recommend?
    Thanks a lot.

      That dude is around your size 5'8 and 145lbs. He seems to be doing well on the 5'2. His only complaint is how short it is.

      The FireWire website has a volume calculator.
      I am 76.2 kgs and the 5'8 with 35.1 litres is about right for an experienced surfer on weak to average small waves .

    How does the helium perform in choppy onshore mush compared to a PU board? Just seen reviews where they surf it in clean faces.

    Hi Ian, I have an original 6.2 Pukas 69er and a 7.0 Pukas La Cote and I surf in the North Sea (NL). Does it make sense for you to buy a 5.10" Torq Channel Island Pod Mod? for my quiver? If so, with one you would use for small surf in The NL and which one for traveling? Cheers!

    I have this board and highly recommend. I've had classic twin keels, hybrid fishes, CI Skinny Fish ect... and this board does "hybrid" better than any other fish board. Most of the "hybrids" ive surfed/owned suck ass (except for the ci skinny fish). Also there is no sticky backside feeling that you get with many other fishs. Great Board.

      I've had about ten surfs on mine now and it's the first fish that I've felt that surfs with a high degree of performance. Fast like a Tomo! Turns really nicely and gives you a splice of Rob's stylemaster grooveyness😁. Perfectly suited to FUN surfing.

    Hi Boss! I want to ask the most asked question! I am 84kg and 184cm and beginner/intermediate. I want to get a size that is easy to paddle but I can use longer when I improve my skills further. I was thinking about the 5’11” or 5’10”

    Seaside vs Hypto Krypto?

  • @arrzfr
    @arrzfr 4 года назад

    I‘m looking to transition over from a 5.7 Chumlee, just can‘t deal with that massive tail which keeps sliding out on me on steeper faced waves. I just probably don’t need that much of groveler I guess. How would I size the Seaside? On my Chumlee I find it very easy to paddle into waves and get going, so the volume is sufficient. Cheers!

    • @benjaminm5232
      @benjaminm5232 4 года назад

      Had a 5'9 chumlee and switched it out for 5'7 seaside. It pretty much covers the same wave range. I like that the seaside is more stable on sloppy take offs due to the fuller rails. When the waves are a little bit better, instead of using a shortboard these days I've been using a 5'6 seaside. It paddles better, catches waves easier and gives me a more stable platform than my shortboard. So for you, a like for like swap in terms of range would be the 5'6 but you could go 5'5 if you wan't a little less foam.

    Hi - I just put an order in for a 5'9 (37.3) seaside and am debating if i should change the order to a 5'10 (39.4 L). I'm 6'2 and weigh roughly 205 (93.5KG) and have a untitled haydenshape (38.15 L). I would say i'm just above intermediate and am in pretty good shape. I don't have any issues paddling/getting into waves on my untitled. I am just concerned about the board feeling too corky when compared to what i am used too. I called my shop today and when i mentioned going up a size they told me someone returned a board for feeling too corky.
