    Well done man. I was really able to see what you were talking about. Very helpful.
    • Maybe you could do a similar video but for Dan Mann instead of Machado. (No Brainer vs Twice Baked)
    • Or a Machado vs Mann match up! ....... (No Brainer vs Glazer) & (Seaside vs Twice Baked) I feel like those fill similar niches.

      I moved to North Alabama and surf Gulf Shores every rare occasion there are waves. I own a seaside and it rips with waves anywhere from 2ft-8ft and even on vert sections. I use a 5.2 26.5L standing at 5.9 and 150lb. I am going to copy paste what the shaper at firewire told me before I ordered the board and asked him for advice so you get some kind of reference.
      "Hello,
      Thank you for reaching out.
      Stoked to hear you are after the Seaside model, this board works insane!
      The seaside will work best at the same volume as your everyday shortboard volume.
      With that said I think the 5'2 would be the right call for you.
      You don't want to bump up to much in this board (5'3) as the board carries the width and thickness through the nose. If you are jumping up to much more then your everyday board it can tend to feel a little boaty and sometimes catch to much rail coming of the top."

    Hey mate, big fan of the board reviews.
    Over the last couple of years I've progressed from beginner to intermediate with the help of your channel. I'm looking to progress from my fish to something with more performance that I'll still be able to get waves with. As such, would you consider a video comparing the Firewire Dominator 2.0 vs JS Bullseye? They both seem pretty similar and more forgiving to intermediate surfers. Would be interesting to see what you think!

    I was tossing up between these boards and I watched your other vid about how you loved the seaside. You have completely sold me! I’m torn between the 5’2 and the 5’3 I’m 6’1” and 74kg and most my boards sit around 5’9/5’10 27.5-28.5L but I thought it might be worth going the 5’2 because the board is so condensed. Thoughts? ((I’m a strong intermediate surfer).

    • @offthewallsurfer1
      @offthewallsurfer1 3 года назад

      So the seaside is a great board, definitely go down but not too far down in your liter range. I HAD the 6’0 which was around 45L, now I’m 6’3 at 195 lbs intermediate surfer, I personally didn’t like the seaside in that size. My range is anywhere from 35L in good waves to 41L in weak waves, I found that the seaside was way too boaty for my liking, honestly it felt great and took off in the waist to head high range, but I didn’t find it to be a solid groveler in anything below waist high. If I get another seaside, I’ll buy it in the 5’11 size. Hope that helps.

      @@offthewallsurfer1 , great video. In terms of volume - wouldn't more mean a better groveller board? What the biggest concern regarding more volume?

    • @offthewallsurfer1
      @offthewallsurfer1 2 года назад

      @@ninoaniceto you’re correct, however the biggest concern with more volume is the lack of maneuverability. Sure you can get into any wave, but you sacrifice performance, it’s really a personal preference. I like to be in between.

    Iv been looking into a more higher preformace board. Currently I’m riding a 6’6 pod mod at 47.6 liters I got it when I was around 210 lbs now I’m 190lbs and I want to get a smaller board I was looking into the glazer, and the lost puddle jumper. I surf typical central Florida waves. The volume calculator on fire wires website says I should be surfing 36 liters.what would you recommend?

    • @HowtoRip
      @HowtoRip  3 года назад +1

      I think the seaside is a better board in junky and weak smaller waves. 47 to 36 litres is a substantial drop in volume, you could always meet somewhere in the middle around 40? It is hard to say as there are many factors that contribute to this.
