Evening guys, I have an M140i and due to my wife and I expanding our family wanted to check how firm you think the ride of the X2 m sport compares to my M140i that doesn’t have adaptive suspension

Ps l drove this car with the pano-roof a few weeks ago and was well taken back, its a very attractive package and l also agree a X2 M would be a cracking comprise over the M140i

I never understood why the keys aren't updated more often by car manufacturers. My dad had a 1998 vw passat back in the day and my current shape audi a3 uses the same key? Wtf

I went to the dealership to see it this weekend. They had a pretty much identical to that, X2 20d xDrive M-sport, and I couldn't help but notice that there was a 520d xDrive luxury line next to it, and the 520 was cheaper!! With white comfort seats and everything. I truly cannot fathom who would buy this car over any of the existing models in the lineup, furthermore I can't imagine who would buy this over a mercedes benz GLA if you really need a lifted C-segment hatchback...
VidyaBoutCars what goes through peoples brains when they spend 36k on this rather than an approved used M car. Less practical but for that much money, you want a car that won’t bore you within 2 months.

Good review, nice to see Joe in it. I wouldn't want to break your dreams but no way you will see B58 (inline-6) in X2. The engine would have to be mounted tranversely. I know that at least Volvo has done it in the past but they specifically designed their engine to be fitted like that. BMW would have to modify B58 severely which is highly unlikely. Rumours point to hotter version which will have B48 i.e. inline-4 with ~300hp.

The collaborations with Joe are great. You know, even though my E91 320D sounds like a delivery van at low RPM it does have a fairly pleasing growl from about 3500rpm.
This is a gorgeous car.

Like the collaboration with Joe. Not a fan of the car, although the M-Light would make sense. Pleased to see proper exhausts (cough Audi).
I'm happy that BMW have stopped speccing everything with Dakota leather as standard, I'd much rather have the seats as shown in this video.
Pazza_M140i trust me you wouldnt after a couple of years. They wear horribly. There is a RUclips vid of a guy doing a comparison and it’s frightening.
What ever your spec choice is do not go for the 20 inch wheels. The road noise is so bad, after living with for 4 weeks I am already looking at getting rid.

Yes it does look like a Hyundai. I also have the Hyundai Elantra Gt aka i30. I prefer the Hyundai to the X2.

Why did they provide BMW LOGO on C Pillar ? it looks Ugly like , they wanted to show this is BMW !
Absolutely love th exterior of the car but the interior is so disappointing, so basic and boring, its really not as exciting as the exterior!

Prefer the X1 Msport over the X2. An X2 with less room and flattened roof is not better. The grey class plastic trim is not aesthetically pleasing, especially with gold. All monochrome Msport style coloring is better. Upside down grille looks out of place. BMW must really be hard up for cash trying to pawn off Less is More Styling in the X2, the Edsel of the X series. Perhaps, They should have patiently waited for an X1 redesign in the next year or two and then try to offer some of the styling in a Gen 3 X1. An epic fail in my book compared to the X1. The glass roof on the X2 is smaller than the X1. X2 does not make a real distinguishing difference from the X1. Stick with the X1.

Fashion victim car, honestly you could put Renault or Nissan badges on it and I'd not suspect a thing. Kinda sad how BMW are pimping out their brand heritage to sell pointless tat to gullible urban trendies who will lap up anything with a premium German badge..... I used to admire the BMW marque but not anymore.

I know but I think you can do that without having to completely abandon your brand values just to sell more and more and more to all and sundry. I think they are just greedy and cynical nowadays. Even driving schools are buying BMWs (1 series, X1 and soon probably this X2 as well) to run as fleet cars. How are you supposed to covet the brand when even 17-years-old kids doing their L test are driving round in them? lol Saying that Mercedes and Audi are no better. I just think BMW have strayed the most from their "ultimate driving machine" motto toward trendy tat that only sells because of the badge. Rumor has it the next 1 series will even be FWD :-( Sad times indeed.
soundseeker63 people like you also criticised Porsche when they released Cayenne, Panamera, Macan etc. even though Porsche was about to go bankrupt as they were running at a loss on their core model sports cars. Those same criticised cars are the reason Porsche still exists today. It’s the same for BMW, they need to sell these smaller cars so they have money to build sportier M cars. The Ultimate Driving Machine is still very much alive. Get a BMW car with inline 6 engine or M Performance or M car if you can and you’ll understand.
The difference with Porsche was that 1: Prior to the Cayenne they only had 2 models in their lineup and 2: The Cayenne set new standards in handling and performance for SUVs when it came out. Neither is the case for this BMW. It doesn't set new standards in anything except badge exploitation. BMW have consistently been in the top 10 best selling brands for years now so I'm not buying the necessity of these silly crossover SUVs for their survival.
