“Scout: A Star Wars Story” tells the tale of Dax Orrell, a soldier on The Forest Moon of Endor, during Return of the Jedi. Dax wakes up in a daze, unaware of where he is or where his battalion has gone. He radios for assistance but is greeted by ghastly silence, so, he decides to make his way toward the sounds of distant blaster fire. Along this path Dax encounters his nemisis, an Imperial Biker Scout, dead-set on stopping Dax in his tracks. The two square off in an epic, gritty, dirt and bark filled conflict, and… well you’re gonna have to wait and see how it ends.

Paul Grimes I'm dead very funny
Lol
Good ol' Grimey!
@@murtedaa8004 No, you mean "you're" fat
That simple bit of emotion near the end. Two sides who are tired of fighting, tired of killing, tired of spilling blood. Two sides who are emotionally scarred from everything they've seen. For the breif moment, they were no longer rebel and imperial. They were human.
Filthy rebels, killing an imperial scout that was very clearly avoiding killing, to spare as much life as possible. We lost one of our finest that day.
How would you know?
@@johnypauly14 hes That Guy. he knows all

Long live the empire
I’m proud that I know all the sound affects in the beginning from the AT-ST walking and it’s blasters to the E-11s of the Empire and the A280C from the Rebels. Yeah, I’m a nerd.
Also a Wilhelm scream :)

L. Watson God keep us nerds!
L. Watson I remember these sound effects from SW BF (2015)
Matthew Macius I think it is a A280
Everybody knows that
Watching again, the facial expressions of the actors at confrontation is exquisitely done.
@@renomuren It's well done to be sure, but I wish there was just a bit more story behind it.

Christian Gamer Jolee the person over you is fat
Christian Gamer Jolee nobody in this fan film is from the 501st, sry.
@@cle_brendan8631 i think he's refering to the fact that this was made in association with the 501st (they're a worldwide costuming group btw)

He litteraly knocked the heck outta her... I hate rebels.... and the rebels friend could clearly see she wasn't attacking him...
Stormtrooper Slade
Yea i agree fu*k rebels.
He only saw an Enemy, that what happens in these situations sadly.
Rebels destroyed more lives than the empire ever did on alderaan
She didn't die scout trooper armor can withtand up to 2-3 shots
@@ratking7383 It is my understanding that the armor isn't meant to deflect direct shots but rather to absorb and dissipate the impact and force of the impact, rather like crumple zones on a car, instead of your body taking the full on impact. Given the angle of the shot and where it hit, it probably put her down but not completely out. Might be some lung damage. I'd argue its not necessarily a fatal shot.
Finally! I've been looking all over #RUclips for a Star Wars fan film that doesn't involve Jedi. Also, amazing work on this film! Bravo!
Better yet if you're into the ground combat. TK-436 a Stormtrooper Story!
Christopher Botcheos I want to see one about the tatooine spy from episode 4
Christopher Botcheos jakku: first wave, personally one of my favorites

This is so good! Really shows that Imperial forces are just humans too after all (I know there are also aliens but you get what I mean). Also I love Scouts so it's really great to see one with character on screen!
Yeah that is one part in Star Wars that always bothers me. Most of the empire military are just normal people. Especially the death stars had an incredibly high kill count on the support part of the military. Engineers and workers who kept the thing going, who likely never fired a weapon outside of training and were only following orders.
I get your point, but, in canon the empire hates aliens, so all are human. With RARE exceptions. Not trying to prove anything, just sayin' therefore, no alien troopers or officers. Other than like, Thrawn.
@@theexchipmunk If i remember correctly some even had families stationed on the death star, granted i might be miss remembering smthing
@@Erikson564 I am not sure how it was called, but there was a book that told the story of a stormtrooper coming to terms and deciding to desert, only to be blown up when the first death star was destroyed.
Probably over 98% humans, very few of the imperial forces were alien
Very simple story, but very interesting implications!
Stormtroopers with a human face... and a pretty one, too.
Return of the Jedi would have been so much better if the Rebels would have encountered some sort of an internal resistance cell on Endor.
It would have been a much more believable and better film.
RotJ is a film about redemption after all.
So, just as Vader was redeemed by his encounter with his son on the Death Star.
Perhaps, there were also Imperial troops and personnel stationed on Endor, who were hoping for a chance to end the terror and madness they were involved in.
I wouldn't want to replace the Ewoks! I like the Ewoks. Make them a bit more fierce. Maybe they used to hunt and feed on Imperial troops all along...
But the Rebels must have had at least some help from within the Imperial troops.
It's too much of a stretch to believe that only a handful of Rebel soldiers with the help of teddy bears managed to defeat some of the Emperors best troops on Endor.
Greatest power of the Jedi=Plot Armour!
great work to all involved..
but 1minute 40secs intro credits of a 10 minute video good god!
Actually its a 5 min video, first 2 min and last 3 min are All credits lol
Seems fair since that's about the standard ratio in Hollywood films these days ;-)
I agree long intro sheesh. Still a great film. Love it! I feel this film needs a little touch of Cobra Kai in the mix so the Scout Trooper will sweep the leg next time she encounters the enemy...Strike First, Strike Hard, No Mercy. Then she wouldn't have gotten shot in the left breast. lol A+++ Awesome Pawsome! : ))
5:50 there was no hand-to-hand combat needed. The scout trooper had a blaster of her own- don’t know why she tackled him instead, and she had an ankle holstered blaster that both her and the rebel could have used
I thought during the fight when the rebel grabbed the Scout's boots, that he was going to grab the pistol on her leg and try to shoot her or something
I have always liked the Scout troopers.
wow, very good fan film. loved the ending.
I love how it shows the personal side of Star Wars and the horrors of war.
Good production quality and acting. Disappointed when it ended... wanted to see more. Keep it up!
Jack Daniels Oh come on. Let me guess wrong boot lace?
Well done nephew. Love every second of it. Screw all the haters down grading this
Heath Julie Ofstead It's amazing
Its lit
Beatifully done intro. Gives just enough context that long time fans know exactly what's going on, even with no visual.
I also love that the battle of Endor was actually replicated very well, even using the actual redwood forest.
this had better characterization in a 10 minute video than the entire star wars battlefront 2 campaign did from EA
Or the Disney trilogy for that matter...
That was amazing!! Anyone can tell you guys worked really hard and it def paid off!
Oh man, what'd you guys do to that poor Biker Scout Helmet?!?
Excellent! Top quality, too. Thanks for sharing this.
Maybe some ideas For An Off shoot movie (Lol.. no pun intended ) A rebel in the wilderness
A star wars story
Dang this was sad.. I don't understand the dislikes.. You guys did an outstanding job making this Fan Film! Deserves a lot more credit! Frigging nice work :)_
You know, the first time I watched this I was like, “what the heck? That was super weird” I was expecting something more. But then I watched it a second time (because I loved the scenery and the overall feel of the filming) and I was really struck by this film. When both the rebel and the scout trooper were facing each other you could just see them connecting over their humanity. Both of them have been fighting this faceless enemy but now they see each other. Also, after the trama of hand to hand combat (almost choking the life out of someone and bashing in the face mask of another person with your own helmet! I mean sheesh that’s rough) I could just see the relief of both of them as they realize that they don’t have to fight or kill anymore. And then the sad ending with the reality of war being that people are going to die. Sorry for rambling on but man this was powerful.
runner5 You captured damn near perfectly the essence of our story. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you guys for your awesome creativity! I was blown away. You should definitely make more.
I hate it when the good guy and bad guy arent shooting each other and the outta no where the bad guy gets shot
Location, camera shots, sound, and costumes were all top-notch.
This is a really good representation of what that war was like.
I love the humanizing of the soldiers. I think that's part of the reason I love the clone wars cartoon so much.
Good job all in all. I think the rebel commando acted more like a scared rabbit than a commando though
Rebels are rebels they don't have mutch training etc
This deserves so much more love ... Man it hit me like a rock .... Just incredible you can really see the love for the franchise tks for that magnificent fan made short !
Great movie but cannot believe how many people were involved in such a short... respect to you all
100k views ? You need 1 million ! In all star wars fan movies that i seen, this is the best, good use of musics and sound effects, special effects ... Good work ! And the final scene is beautiful
Wow !
Ah, I'm so excited! Fabulous short film guys! You all did such a great job.
The star wars sounds are so unique and interesting, they could almost be a movie just on their own with a black screen the entire time lol.
This is probably one of my favorite Star Wars fan films
Goddamn, that was unexpectedly good! My chest clenched up. Bravo to all of you!
Very well done. Professional.
Superb acting on your actors' parts! Sound design and cinematography were on point as well! Well done!
While the characters had ample opportunity to just shoot each other, I'm glad you guys went with a more dramatic, emotional route. This is a great fan film.
Great quality of costumes and picture!
I actually screamed at the end. Wow. Well done.
Epically portrays the human side of war, bravo! The acting was champion!
That's some upbeat music for such an ending
This was freaking brilliant!!!!! Well done!!
I love that the fans now make better films than the producers
This was very well executed. Best Star Wars fan film that I have ever seen!
Taojas, “Did you ever hear the tragedy of The Last Jedi? I thought not. It's not a story George would tell you. It's a Rian legend. The Last Jedi was a dark piece of political and cultural subversion, so powerful and so wise it thought it could use the Franchise to influence the fandom to create everlasting riches… It had such knowledge of the dark side that it could even make the iconic characters they so cared about easily die. The dark, subversive side of the Franchise is a pathway to many narratives some consider to be unnatural. It became so powerfully hated … the only thing it was afraid of was losing money, which eventually, of course, Solo did. Unfortunately, George gave his apprentice everything he created, and then his apprentice killed it in his sleep. Ironic. George spent 40 years breeding a Golden Goose then sold it to a butcher.” Younger Generation, "Is it possible to learn this power?" "No!"
Awesome film! Action packed, intense emotions, struggling to survive and great story. Loved it! The ending was a little heartbreaking and that’s not a bad thing. That moment made you feel for the scout trooper.
The cinematography and acting are great, but the music in this one feels especially Star Warsy. Good job guys.
This is why soldiers carry knives
The film was great and I like that we see the scouts face
Fan films are more faithful, and creative than the official releases.
That’s was so powerful it was amazing! Fantastic work!
Cinematography is very good and colors as well as props everything flowed better then most fan films
Well done Preston and team! Looking forward to watching what you do next.
Scout trooper boy - died by one punch of any rebels
Scout trooper girl - can fight 1v1 vs rebels and even win
Amazing
Bravo!!! Great acting, cinamatography, and story line!
Excellent job! Just wish it was longer! I hope to see more!
They need to start making movies more like this, not based around a Jedi or important character, introduce something new to the star wars universe like this, this is great
Wow this was so well made!
great attention to practical details, and EDITING! (sound and picture editing, and VFX so good!)
Fan films often can look the most polished when you keep it simple and don't bite off more than you can chew with full reveals of ship battles and multiple planet locations etc.... but in this case, I'd like to see this team tackle a next level of epic scope, since they did this 3 actor self contained sequence so perfectly.
(just in case critique is useful...)
I just was made a little skeptical at the end about the reluctance in both the soldiers to shoot, especially in the particular situation with him having just bludgeoned the trooper's face, and then she jumped up and surprised him... it made me feel it was a bit unbelievable that he wouldn't defensively whirl around blasting like he just did moments before when he fell. Though the actors played it so well that it mostly made up for my skepticism about the script in that moment.
It did make my imagination have to try to make up excuses for each of their motivations though... maybe they're too tired -- traumatized by fighting a moment before... except I'd think the trooper should be seeing red in kill mode from being so savagely beaten an left for dead a second ago... is she suddenly weak and merciful because she took her helmet off and remembered she's a woman?? is He unwilling to defend his life now that he sees that trooper is female?? (was her gender significant somehow?)
and Then the music turned romantic... I'm wondering are they feeling some chemistry in the climax of this bloody fight to the death??? do humans switch emotions like that when in fight or flight mode? Maybe the rebel had some extreme bias in favor of women, or hadn't seen a woman in years and was stunned... But she totally got a good look at his face already while strangling him, so IDK why she'd give a shit about his life now he's pounded her face into the ground a bit... maybe she's got a brain injury and all that blood is making her see him through rose tinted vision. lol
Just a few of my distracting thoughts because the rationale for that (well acted) moment wasn't really set up or supported by the rest of the story, as far as I could tell.
Obviously this is a finished short and is quite impressive regardless. it's just good enough it deserves a higher level of critique same as I have for the studio Star Wars movies. Just could be improved by a little more story work (for the next one?) -- i.e. maybe a rebel soldier could've narrowly escaped a trooper, perhaps jumped off a SPEEDER right before she shot it down, then he could Secretly get in position to ambush her while she catches up to investigate the crash, and she's in his line of fire, but failing to find his body she removes her helmet to express her frustration in some way, and the rebel who's clearly never considered the emotive humans under the helmets hesitates.... and she turns and spots him (2nd!) but also is hesitating Because he's got a blaster trained on her, and Also because he's hesitating and she's unsure of the dynamic since she's never been vulnerable with her helmet off and face to face with an possibly empathetic rebel (?)...... And then she gets abruptly sniped by the other rebels.
Just a little set up change, something like that I think could help better deliver the emotional conclusion you want. in my opinion.
hope this detail suggestion for future work is received well. :) I really enjoyed this short
O yeah, and those minute and 40 seconds of intro credits over black....
people don't even have patience for that in a movie theater with popcorn. I skipped a bit... but luckily the first real shots immediately won back my attention. I just went back and listened through the little radio drama of sound FX, but probably would've had more patience with Some titles if I saw a bit of that pro cinematography up front first. and maybe that epilogue of epic sound design could've been heard over some creatively obscured long shot (like from a hiding position, or just boots running on the ground and clods of dirt falling until the scout's body fell in frame... ) anything but credits!
That sound design is KILLER!! From the woodland critters chirping and hooting in the backgrounds to the punchy impact of the blaster shots-great work all ‘round, folks!! 👍🏽
Great job Louie and the crew! Looking forward to what's next
Well done everybody. Congrats!!
This is the best Fan Film ever Made!
God i love these kinds of fan films
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!, A true pice of art...
And that kids, is why you never hesitate.
Keep your bayonets sharp, your powder dry and some hate in your hearts.
It's pretty revealing how fan films like this are superior to what Disney has produced.
Every Star Wars fan film-
-Rebel gets stranded
-Stormtrooper finds Rebel
-They duel
-Stormtrooper is unmasked
-Stormtrooper is a woman
-Rebel kills stormtrooper
I'm joking, great video.
Defintely deserves a plce on the list if my favorite Star Wars fan films👌🏻👌🏻
Yo wow give these guys & that good lookin' gal, an Emmy & Oscars, just enough action & tension, not too little not too much, plus the human emotion touch, top-level acting, equipment, camera work, scenery, audio everything.
This is one of the best fan films I have seen, in fact the only thing I would improve is adding another hour and forty minutes, That would teach some of the new darksiders HOW star wars is done!
Great work!!!!
I'm loving these fan-made films more than I enjoy the canon movies. Keep 'em coming, for the love of the fans!
Well this doesn't have the views it deserves, this was great! I loved the effects.
Best sw short film I have ever seen
Despite the fact that half of that was credits, that was awesome!!
Best fan film ive seen thus far
Does anyone find this convenient that the second Star Wars fan film has the imperial being a female and being killed in the most head ass way possible! Also the DLT 19 that the rebel soldier shoots at the school trooper with has a very low penetration her arm or should be more than capable of absorbing the blast or at least spread the blast across her armor to minimize the impact
This was very moving. I felt very sad at the end. In just
ten minutes you really engaged me with this story.
great job !! I'm fan of the old trilogy and specially of the scout trooper of the empire, and enjoy this short film.
Only just come acoss this, bloody hell. Excellent quality and awesome story, very well done :D
I love a minute and a half of words!
Very good job , love the sounds and the story. Was good !
To anyone saying the scout trooper survived, believe what you want but she’s dead as shit XD. Sure their armour can withstand shots but only small arms fire and maybe less powerful blaster rifles from medium range. She took a direct hit to the heart from a sniper rifle from less than 20 metres lol. Pretty sure she’s dead 😂
It was over before it really began but enjoyed it.Great work.
All I have to say is AMAZING!!!!
Wtf
I mean I like and it basically symbolizes how in every Star Wars movie "if you wear the armor you deserve to die."
That moment when the fans are telling better stories with better acting than the multi-million-dollar studios that own the franchise.
Farkin' awesome ! Great work !
That was very well done!
Excellent job, this is one of my favorite Fan films. The Scout troopers are so cool!
Sad when fan films are better with a story, acting, stunts than the new garbage
That was really well done!
Yours was better than the real movie. Awesome.
Awesome effects and camera angles! One of the best starwars fan films I’ve seen.
That was one of the best fan films I think I ever saw
Funny Gruny why? There wasn’t any good acting, it was generic, nothing was special about any of this
that sound-over was a hell of a cold open. o__o
