what makes solas to preserve cole as a spirit makes me personally decide to make him a human. when cole came from the fade it changed him. he grew to understand people, to build relationships, to enjoy the world. when you make him a spirit again, he basically leaves all of that behind only as a memory of a person he no longer is and isnt able to feel for others as he learned to do. solas is personally projecting on cole because he hated that he had the same choice and he hated the outcome and still wishes he didnt lose what made him a spirit and thats why he thinks cole will also be happier that way although experiencing the world as a human is what cole wants

Omg, I did not realize Bianca was voiced by Laura Bailey D: Despite being a Critter since early Campaign 1. But Bianca forgiven? ... Nah.

I love that there's no "right" choice, both have advantages and disadvantages. Making Cole more spirit allows him to help people more effectively, but sacrifices his desire to be more human. Conversely, making him more human lets him become what he actually desired to be, but his ability to help others is somewhat reduced.
In my case, i made him more spirit in my first playthrough, but after that i've always made him more human. As you said, the epilogue tells us that Cole is still able to help people while he wanders around the world as a human with Maryden (maybe not to his full spirit potential, but he's still able to). What could be better than that??
(the spirit route is also veri interesting tho! just not the one I prefer)

I decided to make Cassandra my Divine only cause I can’t remember if I started to soften Lelianna in my current playthrough. Though after watching what happens with Spirit Cole, I think I might make Cole human

I'm placing bets now that the skeleton we'll get to hold in Veilguard is (Spoilers!) a certain undead by the name of Audric from Tevinter Nights

I like cole more human route, because making the templar guy forget, isn't good to me.
he needs to live with that regret because he was the one who hurt the original cole.
if he really wants to no longer feel that pain, he needs to come to terms with it and maybe make amends.
forgetting doesn't undo what's already been done, and it doesn't make him a better person either.
making peace with what he's done and doing something to actually help people, would be best.
I feel the same for cole, you cannot undo what's already been done, and just because a person is hurting, doesn't mean they want to forget why they hurt.
sometimes it's someone's loved one who passed, they don't want to forget, and the pain will pass, it just takes time and cole needs to understand that whispering words ain't enough sometimes.
maybe a widowed wife just needs someone to cook her a fresh meal so she doesn't have to that day.
there's so much more nuance to being a human than just pain and there's so many ways to help.
erasing pain sometimes just isn't helpful.
also as a spirit he can feel so many people's pain all at once and I can't imagine how that might affect him.
but as a human he doesn't have to hear so much pain all the time, he still can, but it's not as loud.
I also feel that letting cole angrily kill that guy, makes him not a spirit of compassion but of vengeance and I worry about that.
I understand that compassion can come in many forms, and maybe that templar does deserve it, but cole doesn't have to be the one to do it.
also when he's a spirit he forgets about the mortal cole and I think that cole deserves to be remembered by someone who knew him.
also being human protects him and he won't need a losable amulet to protect him from being corrupted.

Hi there, really enjoy your vidoes. However I just wanted to point out unfortunately you are incorrect with voice actors there.
Cole is voice by James Norton, who was in Grant Chaster, McMafia and Happy Valley.
Scratch in BG3 was voiced by Shaun Mendum.

i prefer the spirit cole route personally
him thanking you for not changing him if he stays a spirit always makes me tear up (also i prefer krem and maryden) my only problem with spirit cole isn't with cole but with the inquisitor, they feel a bit more distanced which makes me sad ... they don't really comfort him or anything.
i don't see why he needs to be human? i don't get why that's better and it didn't really seem like what he wanted to me idk
i really connect strongly with his character and story as someone who is autistic, he has autistic traits and was written with that in mind in inquisition (patrick weekes talks about this)
so i kinda view making him more human as sorta making him mask?

also i think he just shows his happiness differently ? which i also relate to
i agree though it is one of the hardest choices 😭😭

I see what you mean. Spirit-Cole accepts his original intentions and interests, the whole reason he was able to come here was to help. Human-Cole is just a mirror to what others show him is 'normal'. And even though Human-Cole gets to explore the world for himself and feel what those he helped feel, he still wants to help. It is his nature, his essence.
What if he can't help enough as a human? Does that forever lurk over him as a shadow, that thought of 'I could have done more if I had chosen differently'? Spirit-Cole doesn't have that shadow. He does what he believes is necessary, and can still be reasoned and taught how to help even better. Which is why I ultimately chose this route for him. Let him be purely him, and not force him into a mold.
