They may have turned their planet into a toxic wasteland but their drip is immaculate
*Kriegers, covered in mud, pause their tunneling:* "Was ist das 'immaculate'?"
That's WHY their drip is immaculate. All that Hugo Boss is also CBRN/HAZMAT/MOPP gear, and Kriegers specialize in trench warfare which usually means lots of chemical weapons.

Fun fact:
The commissars are usally deployed with guard regiments to Stop people from running away from Fights, but when they are deployed with kriegsmen, they have to hold them Back so they don't Run into their own Artillerie Bombings or other Dangerous situations
and they have to be specially trained Commissars too. If they don't know how to word it right, the Commissar's soldiers might execute the Commissar for cowardice.
I remember a passage from one of the Falkenbergs Legion books, about how it took a lot of discipline to follow your artillery bombardment so closely you took some casualties, all in order to literally be on top of the enemy position as they come out of cover to fight.
And Krieg commissars are usually not deployed with krieg regiments. Why?
Because they are depressed that they lived this long and usually lead the charge ("Drive me closer, I wanna hit it with my sword") and for them, pulling back isnt an option.
Nah, read siege of Vraxx, they break and run away, killing their commissarrs to escape

I still can't get over how when the Imperium rediscovered Krieg, they thought that no one had survived. Only for an envoy ship to come from the surface. Even better that when they got over the initial surprise and suggested "okay, you guys clearly need some time to rebuild, so we only require this number of soldiers from you", the Krieg envoy basically went "the best I can give you is 100 times more than that, and we've got a ton more almost ready."

Imagine injecting geneseeds into all of these guys. You would have an army of grey knights, blank or not.
Yeah, but they're all irradiated & essentially all have a leukaemia time-bomb inside them. It's why they deploy very young.
I think the geneseed wouldn't play well, & they certainly wouldn't survive the organ-implantation operations.
@@mysterylovescompany2657 Dont Astardes have a healing factor for sht like cancer and smaller wounds?
@@pantherpopel551 Only ones recieved _after_ the transformation.
Kriegers would be considered damaged stock that might well poison the geneseed, & be a waste of resources (bc making a new Astartes is extremely expensive + time-consuming) + organs.
@@mysterylovescompany2657 Isnt the longest time of becoming an Astardes, by far, the part where they have to prove themselfes?
@@pantherpopel551 Sure, sometimes by years, but that's relatively low investment by the Chapters in a _practical_ way, so that's that's not relevant compared to the resources + _valuable_ time consumed during the operations when that time could be spent making _another_ Marine. Tbe geneseed + organs-implantation process is also tremendously physically traumatic, & many recruits in perfect shape still don't survive it, which renders each one who _doesn't_ make it a waste of that valuable medic's time, energy & the organs themselves - especially as organs in the dead can't always be harvested.
The Kriegers are at a mortal disadvantage, bc they're mentally badasses, but their bodies have an expiration date already, & it's highly unlikely that they would survive the process. And it's a process that's difficult + expensive, so the policy is that anyone with existing conditions is considered ineligible for the process.
In addition, geneseed is sufficiently precious that the Astartes always re-harvest it from the bodies of the fallen where they can, so any applicant whom there is reason for concern may _poison_ that geneseed for any reason is automatically ruled out.
This isn't my personal headcanon, it's literally the canonical explanation for the question. It''s a question that comes up a lot, bc Kriegers are v. impressive warriors w. a mindset of fanatical loyalty, so the writers eventually went to the effort of explaining the logic for it.
FWIW, I personally agree that Krieger Space Marines would be badass.
Deadliest enemy of all of warhammer shows up and kills everyone

Emperor when Krieg gets super nuked: Goddammit....
*kiregsmen charging into ork line to engage in melee*
Commisar 1: you think we should stop them?
Commisar 2: nah bro. I choose life.
Also, because they are wearing gas masks, you can never tell their true age meaning that a Kriegsman next to you could be 12 or 13 and you'll never know as they are that dedicated to serving until their deaths.
their biological age is always post-pubescent, so at least 15-16. Their actual age may be 6, because they are vat-grown and are "born" as young men already. None of them had childhood. After "birth", they train in the radioactive wasteland of their homeworld, and those who survive the training become the Kriegsmen.
They could also be heavily mutated, from the fallout from the nuclear war saturating the planet with radiation.
@@getterblakk A-a think about, the Imperium despises mutations (only very few expections like the orgyns), you'd think that one of the most fanatical planet, would let them live? Also they are vat-grown but not clones
We talking about 40K where everything that you think is good is worse than the bad you think is bad. Just because they're vat grown doesn't mean they don't mutate, just like vawl thought he cured the red thirst and other gene seed anomalies! So there's really a reason to why they fight so hard as to not bring suspicion even after all this time. But that's just my head cannon.
@@K_Balu They're not mutants, as such, but they _are_ to a man all on a clock for cancer. It's been observed & documented that even non-deployed Kriegers don't get to grow old.
Just one more element adding to their gung ho mortality complex.

The Deathcore of Krieg are so dedicated, so efficient, and so brutal, that they are the only guard regiment Space Marines have respect for. And even more so than that, the only guard regiment that Space Marines will willingly fight alongside.
Cadia stands!
That’s my boys right there. Has to be my all time favorite regiment. FOR THE EMPEROR.
You do know that upon rescuing Guard survivors from Cadia as it broke, the Astartes, especially the Space Wolves, actually saluted the Guardsmen for their valor.
"In Life, War. In Death, Peace.
In Life, Shame. In Death, Atonement."
- Death Korps of Krieg
Well Kriegsmen have a quote going "In life, war. In death, peace. In life, shame. In death, atonement." They are very dedicated to die for the Emperor and the Imperiam. Far as I know most Imperial Guards don't like being around Kriegsmen since they creep them out
That's probably because they behave and despise anything that makes a human into a human. Their name is quite fitting since they are basically walking corpses and think like they are already dead. But that's personally for me what makes them so damn bloody loveable for me
So they are Germans. Oh excuse me JERMANS
@@JJumper8888 they're the definition of "wants to die in battle or for the greater cause" which dying for the imperiam means dying for the Emperor so they accept it. Crazy dudes have the most insane plans and they usually work after a good portion of them die in the process

The ideology of Krieg is incompatible with the greater good and T’au battle doctrine is anathema to the Deathcorp
Maybe survivors of the defeated Krieg rebellion could find refuge and join the ranks of the T’au?
First.
Kriegers would never dare join, but that's a concept.

Kriegsman: We don't show mercy, we don't surrender, we only bring death!
What's crazy is that they've probably already atoned three or four times over by this point
They atoned even before they rejoined the Imperium. They killed every last traitor on their planet, it took 5 centuries but they did it. They could have chosen to relocate or rebuild their planet, but they said no, because there are no civilians on Krieg, only soldiers.
“I don’t want peace I want problems always”
Imagine providing your emperor with soldiers of such ferocity that they're considered inefficient because they try TOO HARD to die for that emperor.
There must be this combination of unvarnished glee from the higher-ups at the Munitorum and migraines from the lower-level logistics officers who actually have to coordinate things whenever Kriegers get deployed to the thick of it. Yes, they have plenty of men, shells, and vehicles and are unwaveringly loyal, but getting all that materiel to some other solar system and to the front to maintain such a high-attrition force is not an easy task.
