Oh my gosh Pippa I loved watching this come together - it looks so whimsically woodlandy, just wonderful. I am definitely inspired to try it, thank you! 🍄x
This is lovely! I love how you demonstrated using various yarns to get those cool effects for the tree bark and grass. The mushroom pictures together look super sweet. Thanks for sharing this and for explaining your process 😊
Love it thank you for sharing. I love 2d work. I can’t paint or draw either, but somehow I can make it work in wool. Attempting a green man. Keep up the great work
I read somewhere that felting was more than just crafting because the crafter becomes the artist by using felt to draw, paint, or sculpt. How true that is.
This is adorable!! 😍 I really love all the texture you've created with all the different yarns, that's so inspiring!! I definitely will have a go at this! I was just thinking "oh no, now I have to go and buy all these different yarns with the interesting variegation and the different constructions, as I don't think I have any like that", and then I remembered, I have a bunch of wools and I have drop spindles, so I can literally make my own! In fact, I already have some yarn I made when I first learned that's way too lumpy & bumpy to use for knitting, so it's just been lurking in the bottom of a drawer, but it would be perfect for something like this! 😃 Now I just need to look up how to spin beehive yarns... 🤔😅
Thank you and glad you liked it. Yes, this is perfect for any types of wool you have and the beehive yarn looks so nice all done, hope you can spin it xx
Thank you for your series of videos. I bought a kit from different company that you never mentioned months ago with having no clue what wool felting was. It had directions but not great ones and all black and white. Your description here and on website helped me understand what I was supposed to do to finish the project. I won't do this again, not my cup of tea, I will go back to painting and paper crafting! AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!
This was an amazing process to watch, step by step and you can really visualize it all because you explain the details as you do them. I think the finished product was stunning and so natural looking. Thanks for sharing with us.
I love how this turned out! I've had it in mind recently to be on the lookout for lovely textured yarn to start incorporating into my felt pieces so it was wonderful to see an example of that! I just love the dimensional look of these. For the future though I would perhaps caution against gluing your art to that pressboard backing that comes with frames. Just thinking in the long term here it's quite acidic and can damage pieces over time. We also frequently have people who bring in artwork to have it reframed after acquiring it and it's always unfortunate to open it up and find it's been heavily adhered to a component of the frame. Maybe if there's space in the back you can glue it down to a panel of thicker ply mat or a similar material? I always love listening to your videos as I felt along on my own projects - great inspiration as always!
Great idea, I will definitely look at that, thank you! This is the perfect way to use yarn and other materials and it really does pop out of the frame, glad you like it and thanks for watching xx
Im in love with this! Could you recommend a price range for selling these? I have some ideas to make it different ,but I have such a difficult time pricing my work for market
Lovely! I cannot draw or paint, either. I do love creating pictures with wool, though. Gonna have it in my next course as well. Last course was all 3D, I want to show what is possible with 2D next. Already bought the frames. I need to create more pictures to promote that part of the course first, though. I'll let my students bring their own pictures they want to create. (I know I'm too adventurous for my own good...)
I'm waiting for a wool delivery that'll have white wool for me to wet felt the backgrounds. (I know you can take any colour, but I think it will look nicer and feel more like painting for the next course.) I did get a delivery with 38 Merino tops (different microns) today. I even filmed myself unpacking and then packing them into my "system". Still need to finish clearing the wall for my next shelf. Can't wait to finally have everything in order. (I do live in chaos in my rooms, but wool, needles and other work supplies need to be orderly for efficiency^^) @@feltsbyphilippa I think probably all I know about texture and working with "knitting wool" for felting I learned from you (or developed(tried from there). Always looking forward to your videos, even if I don't learn anything new.
You can get needles in lots of different sizes, use a thick needle to start a project and especially if the wool is quite thick and ruff. A thinner needle helps with finishing projects and getting a smooth finish, thanks so much and hope you understand this xx
Oh my gosh Pippa I loved watching this come together - it looks so whimsically woodlandy, just wonderful. I am definitely inspired to try it, thank you! 🍄x
That is so beautiful and creative! I learned a lot about using wool like yarns vs just carded wools. Love how this turned out. You have a great eye!
Thank you! That is very kind xx
Love this! I never thought of doing something like this! Now I am thinking I might want to try! I always get so much from your videos!
Glad you like them, thanks for watching xx

Love it thank you for sharing. I love 2d work. I can’t paint or draw either, but somehow I can make it work in wool. Attempting a green man. Keep up the great work
It's funny how it's much easier with wool, thanks for watching xx
What a lovely picture, I love the different yarns it give the picture depth. Good work I like to see you work. Thank you.
Thank you so much! xx
So cute, and all of those lovely yarns!
I read somewhere that felting was more than just crafting because the crafter becomes the artist by using felt to draw, paint, or sculpt. How true that is.
I feel it's completely up to your and your opinion of what is a craft and what is art, there are huge crossovers in my opinion xx

Glad my channel helped, having good wool and needles really helps in the beginning, hope you give it another try one day xx
Love the different textures you have achieved with the yarns. It really brings it to life
Yes, they really make it stand out xx
I just got some textured yarns and I am glad for this video to show some ways I can use it.
Yes, it's such a fun and easy way to use yarn, hope it goes well xx
What a fantastic piece! Are all the yarns you use 100% wool? Is it possible to use a wool/acrylic blend or pure acrylic yarn instead?
I do use some blends but if 100% acrylic it might not felt that well, thanks for watching xx

Absolutely gorgeous, love doing 2d felts, so effective 🤩 x
Thanks so much 😊
I made both of these. Can’t wait for more like this!
Fantastic, they are really easy and fun to felt xx
Amazing work - love the te three created.

Wow, this has given me a new avenue to explore, thank you. 😊
Have fun with it xx
I absolutely love it! I definitely am going to try 2d/3d felting.... once I've got Christmas out of the way 😂 Thank you so much as always Philippa xx
Glad you like it, I think it's a nice effect with the 2D/3D feel xx
Im in love with this! Could you recommend a price range for selling these? I have some ideas to make it different ,but I have such a difficult time pricing my work for market
So, it's tricky, I am going for around 50 English pounds, depends on where I would sell it and the commission charges etc.
@feltsbyphilippa, hello from Alaska and thankyou for your response. That is a reasonable cost. Thanks for the advice and inspiration.
Lovely!
