Yeah I was surprised I really felt bad for him when he realized two whole days went by. That woman looked like she really liked him too. This series looks great so far
Steven is genuinely such a sweetheart throughout the whole episode. On a regular basis calls his mum, hangs out with living statues, has a pet goldfish, works a little museum job, like he's just genuinely so sweet and kind and I feel so bad for him
Like his other personality are aholes. They cant just comfort him and tell him the thruth. Hes scared and feels alone and theres just like calling him names and being mean to him.
Oscar Isaac's acting blew me away in this episode, you can tell he really shines in this role and shows the torment really well through his expressions.
Just wow, what an opening for Moonknight. Oscar's performance is more than amazing, he is the perfect cast for this character,it really hooked me up from the beginning and I'm so excited to explore this side of the MCU.
Just seen the first episode now ! It is definitely stylish in its tone & pleasant to sit through. Also, I think Gus the fish is actually Mefishto & will grow two horns
@Thesmus I think he just meant that among the choices, rare, medium rare, medium, medium-well & well-done, the closest thing to very good is well done.
Oscar Isaac's brother was the stand-in for Marc Spector in this series and he suggested it to Marvel for the Marc Spector's scenes. It's kind of like Quantum Leap between both of them.
I’m here for everything, loved all the Egyptian imagery, studied Egyptian mythology and culture in high school and I love how it’s being explored in this series
I love it too! Having some background information about Egyptian mythology is great and it makes the show even more exciting when certain things get teased
You know what more credit to Moon Knight team and MCU on looking into Egyptian culture & mythology and DID in this series. Plus, I like the concept of self contained and kinda of linear worldbuilding with Moon Knight and the fact they have bring an Egyptianology Consultant with this series and storytelling help out with the accurate on their culture and attached the DID helpline at the end credit.
Mohamed Diab went to film school in LA but decided he wanted to spend his career telling stories about Egypt. He went back home where he made some amazing movies. When Marvel got in touch with him and said they were interested in working with him, he actually said no at first. After he read the script for the first episode though he was sold. He's also been very open about being determined to get both the ancient culture but also modern Egyptian culture less exotic as well as accurate.
@@cupguin where did you hear that from? Didn’t he literally write a 200 pitch for the show? He said he normally says no (never said he told them no) but when he was presented with the project he was hooked and it was what he was looking for.
Man, I did not expect this to be as violent as it is, I love it! God I hope Marvel’s future projects aren’t too afraid of being more violent when it suits the project.
It’s all up to Disney+ to decide what kind of movies their willing to produce with darker themes. Disney+ is mostly a kids platform. But they need to change the rating. Especially for star wars shows like Boba Fett. It should’ve been as thriller as this.
As a huge fan of the moon knight comics, I love how they've handled it so far it was still surprising but also still felt like moon knight and the addition of knowing frenchie now exists is a bonus
It really only makes sense for EP2 to be Marc's perspective of what happened in EP1, then to really start pulling them all together towards the end or start of EP3 to introduce Layla, Mr. Knight and Khonshu. CANNOT WAIT!
I kind of don’t want them to do that as it may fuck up the narrative of the story. I think if they carry on keeping the narrative perspective on Steven whilst developing Marc through the eyes of Steven is a better way to go imo.
I love how camera was working. Close look to Steven, long shots, chaotic. Perfectly fits with Steven's problem. We know exactly what he knows. Humor was always fantastic, so subtle. Steven as a character is really entertaining and interesting
That was like the first hit of a new drug. That was a powerful opening episode, and it felt so much more three dimensional than other Marvel TV shows like Falcon&Winter Solider or Loki. This felt like an HBO original series. Well done 👏
Not going to lie, the other shows felt like movies made for TV especially F&WS but this show for me truly feels like a movie that's been split into a series. I can say it's got me more hooked than the other shows so far.
Yeah, I doubt Moon Knight will simp for the villain, like Falcon did: "ThEy'Re jUsT MiSuNdErsToOd" he said *innocent civilians heard screaming in the distance in a building the Flag smashers just blew up 😇
the way hes already a new fave character and this might be my fave Disney marvel show they've done so far and only after one episode I'm so excited. so excited
You know the writing of a show is good when they manage to make you fall in love with the main character in the first episode. I've seen many shows try to make you like the main character by simply stating how 'loveable' and liked by everyone they are, but in reality they just come off as annoying. But here they've done a really good job of endearing us to Steven right away. Like he's such a sweetheart who loves ancient Egypt and hangs out with his goldfish 😭
First episode was really good and the journey for Steven Grant/Mark Spector has begun with that explosive ending. F. Murray Abraham voicing Konshu the Moon God from the start of the episode was spectacular. He is like the Obi-Wan Kenobi of the Moon Knight Universe making sure Steven Grant doesn't screw it up. There's a point in this first episode where you realize this about Khonshu... "Ok now he's just being an asshole." lol
I haven't seen this episode (yet) but I hope they do Khonshu justice. I don't mind him being snarky or a jerk as long as he's basically on the side of right and not a bad guy (good doesn't automatically equal nice after all.) I hate works that straight-up villify ancient deities. They weren't all like the Olympians.
Theories: The broken glass-filled sandals is a "litmus test" for regenerative powers. The "judgement process" is a misdirect; Anubis is the one who oversees the judgement by weighting the person's heart against the feather of Ma'at, the goddess of order, truth and righteousness. If the person's heart is heavier than the feather then they will be sent to the underworld and/or Ammit will devour their hearts. The Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke) explicitly says that each person will be judge by Ammit which is incorrect since Ammit is the executioner not the judge like the feather of Ma'at was suppose to be. They also mentioned something about "speeding up " the process since Ammit can't wait to devour souls. The elevator floors is a code; 3-2-5 can refer to GH-325, one of the drugs derived from the blood of a Kree corpse ( bloody hands after transitioning in the fight scene in the Alpine village with a scarab artifact now with wings open). When administered, the drug causes rapid healing by promoting advanced cellular regeneration, healing severe and fatal wounds, and in some cases can even revive the recently deceased. Khonshu is hinting of what happened in the Alpine village where an elderly woman was drained of her life force by showing another elderly woman in the elevator. In Egyptian mythology the scarab is a symbol of renewal and regeneration. With the aforementioned theory, the artifact maybe a device that can be utilize to gain dominance over the populace through "miracles' of healing and restoration or regrow a goldfish's non-working fin or heal a broken jaw from falling from atop of a tall structure.
I love how disconnected this was from the MCU Like how Arthur was explaining what that goddess could’ve prevented You’d expect them to mention Thanos But I’m so happy they didnt
It's also kinda a DID thing as well. Other alters if they are co-conscious can influence body language and movement if they want to. I was watching a livestream of a relatively well known system online and they were having some wine while talking to chat. And they decided to stop drinking for a bit cause they were just tipsy enough for their comfort. So they put the glass down. But were co-con with another alter and so while they were chatting with the chat they absent mindedly poured another glass of wine...and then chat pointed it out because they had JUST said they were gunna take a break on the wine like 4 minutes prior...and they were like " oh shit, yeah, Jake's here too. Clearly, he wants to keep drinking lol" and so put the wine glass on the window sill behind them so it was out of sight. So...yeah, it's a thing that can happen IRL as well. Another alter that isn't fully fronting moving the body.
@@deepeaumm multiplicityandme. It wasn't a saved stream tho...so you had to be there to see it, sadly. But her RUclips videos are great. Super informative! Love Jess and her boys. Honestly miss them quite a bit. Jake was SUCH a ray of sunshine. Loved him to bits. 🥰 It was Ed talking to chat in case you look into their stuff. He loved his wine. It was a bit of a rarity because Ed and Jake weren't usually co-con with eachother.
This was the best start to all the MCU shows I’ve seen so far…Oscar Isaac was phenomenal in this…I’m hooked already next Wednesday is too long to wait 🎥👌💛
@@jankyyard5610 Kinda of agree with you. As long as the actors and actress have their MCU or DC contract that allow them to tryout different act roles in other multimedia and both studios isn't salt when one of them work neither from MCU to DC, DC to MCU, working on their own film projects and others or leaves one of them without any negative drama due to creative differences and personal reasons. That's why I wouldn't support the Sony - Marvel studio due to their toxic and bizarre behaviour with Sami Rami's Spider Man 3 by added Venom in the film and others, Venom film series and Now Jared Leto's Morbius with their own drama with their creative side and storytelling.
@@Minority_hunter.. just continuing on my statement, better to comment on my comment than making two separate comments otherwise they don’t fit together
Isaac's accent was actually surprisingly decent. Judging by the trailers alot of fans weren't sure about that, but I thought it was very good. Thoroughly enjoyable episode.
Yup. Londoner all my life and it's pretty damn good. People over the pond don't know what a true London accent is (answer: there's tonnes of em!) and if you want to see a rough one, Karl Urban in the Boys. That is a jarring accent, Oscar Isaac's isn't. Smidge wavering when talking to the little girl and some of the script doesn't help as it's also a bit out of touch vs. most Londoners' phrasing but I have heard all sorts over the years so not too far fetched I'd say.
@@TheChiraagG it's also meant to be kinda... stereotypical and not 100% stable. Because most alters who have an accent the body doesn't naturally have, and Stevens accent is an unnatural one because Marc is American, it isn't always super accurate... there's slip up and blips to the accent sometimes or a lot of stereotypical words are used. Because it's usually a person's subconscious interpretation of an accent sometimes even from when they were a traumtized child seeing whatever accent their brain replicates in the media they consumed. It's not like a DID system has a dialect coach to iron out those inconsistencies. And the actor even mentioned this in a interview, IIRC. That the accent isn't perfect and is kinda awkward on purpose. But also Steven himself is also just an awkward person so the way he says things...sounds strange and a bit off, sometimes. But yeah, it may have been intentional from a DID perspective, potentially. And the people who created the show are said to have consulted with professionals about their portrayal of DID...we will have to see if that is truly the case! Because Split...was very bad and they apparently also had consults. 🤷♀️ I'm hoping this will be GOOD rep like Mr. Robot and United States of Tara were. It's about time DID systems got some more good rep in the media.
@@obikinwinchester6235 Less than 10% of British people have anything like that accent. It's like expecting everyone from America to sound like New Yorkers. Accents in Britain change every 20-30 miles or so.
Coy should just be a Reel Reject and always be in on their reactions and analyses! Coy is amazing, loved watching him on Movie Fights and stuff but I like that these give him the spotlight to really go into a certain property and bounce opinions off everyone else without having to fight it. So fun!
It’s so rad how having a 6 episode series is like giving this character a two feature film debut. What a great intro, after just a glimpse I need to see that suit in action! Oscar was the perfect casting. Embrace the Chaos 😈
YES!! it did feel like a comic in motion, in the most not-cheesy way possible. and maybe that's because declan shalvey and greg smallwood are just fantastic artists which is why it translates so well, but its such a wonderful homage to those creative staples. especially the few shots in the trailer with the stars spinning- super reminiscent of smallwood's overvoid. love it so much
What a great 1st episode! I just hope it keeps up momentum! Also the easter egg is Nemo. Steven/Mark fish has a small fin. Even the sales associate at the fish market even mentions Finding Nemo.
This show is already shaping up to be my favorite MCU show, I love Moon Knight and I love Oscar Isaac as an actor and he is knocking it out of the park.
This is what I love about @thereelrejects episode and episode talk side, whatever they're discussing is very thorough, they definitely dissect what they react to and that in itself is great! But then you get their bits and banter and it's just amazing! This is what makes their channel the best above all others
I’m just disappointed that we didn’t have 2 Episodes drop like some were speculating! It was THAT good!! My ONLY critique would be that at times, the music was so loud that it was drowning out some of the scenes. Small thing, but enough to be noticeable.
I don't think that was unintentional, though. Those songs seemed very intentionally chosen and were supposed to paint your emotion for what you were seeing more than the individual sounds.
@@_ac39 I felt the same way and thought it was an effective use to musical storytelling. It seemed to match what the character's mind was going through.
I felt bad for Steven from the first time he calls his mom, 'cause I'm watching it like, "oh, dude, your mom doesn't exist." And then when he misses his date, he was so sad that he ordered a steak. I've never felt bad for a vegan before, so all the credit to Oscar Isaac for selling that performance.
Been a massive fan of this character for so many years and I'm so glad Feige and the MCU people had enough understanding and faith in Moon Knight to see the potential and then realize it. Oscar Isaac may just deliver the most complex and powerful performance and Moon Knight/Grant/Spector may be the most interesting and in-depth character study in all of Marvel. All of it. It's early but I'm callin' it
As much as i like Steven in this episode...I'm ready to see my boy Marc Spector the real version come out. Marvel nailed this episode i just wish they released 2 but...i can wait
@@megasauruss Marc Spector is who he was was born as, sure your point still stands but when Moon Knight released (comic book) it was Marc Spector therefore he is the real version.
@@al3xgames790 I get what you’re saying, but like I said, in a DID system, there is no “real version” because they are all their own separate person. They are all real. Marc being the first doesn’t make him more real.
That's what a marvel show is supposed to be. I am fucking intrigued for the people who are intrigued by this first episode and are loving moon knight you should definitely checkout legion another masterpiece show by Marvel
Agreed. It wasn't for FX/Marvel's Legion I don't think that current Disney + and MCU wouldn't be able to put it off with Moon Knight series when it come to bring an unreliable narrative, mature contents, unique villian's backstory, character development and themes. Included getting a good scriptwriters and director. Also, Dan Stevens is pretty good with the balance with his David Heller in Legion. Also, it show you can have a self centre, linear, mature content with good character arcs and development, humour but subtle, workdbuiling, grey or non label characters included their villians. That's why I like the Daredevil series but it have some problem with the storytelling from series 2 or 3.
the acting was phenomenal the scene when he was in the restroom talking to marc was such a believable moment where both characters have such different accent and personalities yet oscar isaac nailed the acting on both of them. Cant wait for episode 2!💯🔥
Guys it's just dawned on me... but what if Steven's 'mum' who he's been calling, isn't actually his mum? Like he's just been calling a random lady, but he doesn't know that.😭
Sorry to said this but I think Erik Voss of New Rockstars have a video about your comment on Steven's mum and his existence in the Moon Knight. So yeah, this would break Steven's heart and would lead to an actual breakdown once he would soon discovered it. 😔
I enjoyed it a lot. I’m curious to see what causes the changes in the identities? The lady in the phone said she was looking for Marc for months and she didn’t seem to know about his different identities so Steven has clearly been in control for quite a while until this episode
Triggers are different for each DID system. Some switch very frequently like multiple times a day...some can go months without a switch happening. It can depend on stress levels and what their actual triggers are. Both are valid. The frequency of switches...means nothing really, clinically. Though those with more frequent switches might be more debilitated due to the disruption depending on how long the switches take because that can vary as well. Sometimes switches take seconds, most of the time they take seconds, because it is a very covert disorder...but other times a person can be very dissociated and feel switchy for hours before actually switching. Which I have been told long switches like that are very unpleasant to experience. Because feeling so dissociated can be distressing and uncomfortable. But yeah, I'm interested to see if they go more in-depth as to what this systems triggers are...other than physical threats. Because there are positive triggers as well! Not just negative scary ones.
@@AnxietyRat I’ve noticed that every time he calls his mom, a switch soon follows. Not always but maybe she passed away and it’s his subconscious trying to hide it from him
Oh the benefits of getting to watch the show early. You guys get to prepare your reaction before hand for the moment it drops haha. I loved everything about that episode.
This show may be replacing Loki as my fav Marvel show. This was the best first episode by far!!! I could see Oscar being one of the big players int he MCU in coming years.
I'm thinking the glass unit shoes serves the similar purpose of cilice, self inflicted pain to show ones devotion to their faith. Or pain could be how he manifests his powers or strengthens them
My favorite shot was damn near the end, in the bathroom. I love that the editors removed Marc from the dual mirror visual from the repeating foreground so that Steven could only see the one right before his face and truly let him in.
When Arthur said there was chaos inside of him, my first thought was Wanda. I was wondering if this means that Moon Knight will eventually have a conflict with her? I actually felt heartbroken for Steven when he was ordering the steak. The actor nailed that emotion of pure exhaustion and defeat of what his splintered mind is doing to him. It's as if all pieces of hope was being killed within him in real time.
Agreed. I think Steven is a Nexus being, how he interacts with himself like Loki and Sylvie and the two Wandas do. More reasons the two of them should definitely meet down the road, and they both have a form of chaos in them.
Love what you guys do and having some like minded people to geek out with. Just wondering, Will the full length reaction be going onto patreon anytime soon?
I wasn't hyped for this but I like that they when hardcore into the psychology of it. I also appreciate that they didn't go for the Batman archetype right away.
love seeing you guys wait for a post credit scene just like i did😂 i fell in love with stevens character and the show really gripped me when we came back to steven after killing those group of guys i’m so excited for what it does next. i am hoping we see more of the action and fight scenes tho, i was pretty sad that we cut away from marc fighting that beast at the end. then again the character building is so well done if they choose to focus on that i’m definitely invested in whatever we see any personality do next. thank you rejects!!
I'm thinking that since Amit apparently judges people according to deeds they've done and deeds they HAVE YET TO DO, Harrow must be walking on glass every day as penance to balance out any possible future bad deeds that he might do.
Awesome reaction as always. Have to say, the slower build up works for this. Only seeing from Steven's POV, makes the build up to Mark taling over all the more powerful. Very solid start to the series 👌
I got so involved watching old Law & Order: Criminal Intent episodes that I completely spaced that it was on tonight. I’m gonna go watch it now. I just wanted to see what these guys thought real quick.
I think during the toilet scene, Steven was actually talking to both Marc and Jake. At first he heard "Steven. Steven." from the mirror to his right and then a voice overlaping with the one saying "Steven" saying "I can save us" from the mirror to his left before he heard from the mirror behind him. It could be Steven hearing Marc calling him first, Jake jammed in saying "I can save us", then it was back to Marc saying the rest.
I’ve waited all day to watch this and oh my force it was worth the wait what a awesome first ep… Oscar Isaac is amazing and as a Brit myself his accent is good !!!! Bring on next Wednesday I want more… great reaction as always guys x
Love how they’re showing the realism to having undiagnosed dissociative identity disorder. Trouble sleeping, hearing the voices of other alters, missing time (sometimes full days). I was honestly really worried we were gonna get a bunch of misinformation about the disorder, but I’m really glad they’ve done the research and are adamant about representing it accurately (minus the whole being a priest of a Moon God😅)
Yeah. That was my biggest worry because I know how people with DID feel like there's a lot of misinformation or stereotyping when it comes to TV and Film. I just really hope that they keep it up for the whole series.
OH MY GOD!! WOW! This was fantastic! Just from this first episode alone I can already tell that this show will be amazing. And I have got to say, Oscar Isaac’s performance in this episode was so amazing on every level and was definitely able to sell me on the character of Steven Grant. And the cinematography and camera work was outstanding. I was amazed by how they were able to use so many different brilliant techniques with all the reflections. Not to mention how great the soundtrack for this episode was. And right off the bat we are introduced to Arthur Harrow, and we are shown what a madman he is when he puts pieces of broken glass into his shoes and then proceeds to walk in the shoes. It was just such a crazy opening. Then we are introduced to Steven Grant, and I really liked the way how just in the few opening minutes we spent with him we were already able to get a sense of what his character is. And the scene when Steven is talking to Donna in the storage room and she says he will never become a tour guide, it was both funny and heartbreaking to see Steven’s reaction. Then we get to see the great scene where Steven is talking to the gold guy and it was a really great character building scene. And then we see all the things Steven has to do at night in order to get himself to fall asleep which was really interesting. And then there’s the huge surprise when in an instant we cut to Steven waking up in a field. And it was so chilling when Steven had to crack his jaw back into place. It was also really funny when Khonshu told Steven that he wasn’t supposed to be there and he replied “Yup, I completely agree.” Then we get the scene where they chase Steven through the city which was really tense. And then we get the super eerie scene where Arthur Harrow judges the life of a man and then the life of a woman. And I was so creepy to see her body after she had been deemed bad and had her life drained out of her. And I really liked the way Arthur was able to to identify Steven by telling everyone to kneel in the foreign language. And I loved the scene where Steven tries to give Arthur the beetle but he keeps pulling it away and Steven kind of has to fight with himself. Then we see some of the people try to take it from Steven and he phases out and we he “comes back” his hands are covered in blood and he killed all the people that tried to take the beetle. And I really liked how they did that because with us seeing the blood on his hands we are able to know what he did without us actually seeing it. And by us not seeing it, it’s like seeing things from Steven’s perspective. Then we get the awesome car chase scene which was super exciting and really tense. And I loved how we saw Steven phase out multiple times because it shows how whenever Steven is in trouble one of his other personalities will come in and save him. It was also cool to see the aftermath of things after one of the other personalities would take over. And Steven’s reaction to everything was really funny. Then we get the scene where Steven notices that his fish, Gus, has regrown his missing fin, and I’m really interested to see what’s going on with that. And then when Steven goes to his date you can tell how devastated and confused he is when he finds out that it’s Sunday and not Friday. And to watch him break down while trying to keep up his positive attitude was truly sad. You could really feel his pain in that moment. Then it was really cool to see Steven find out about the secret compartment in his apartment that had Marc’s phone in it. Then we see Steven rush to the elevator when his entire apartment shake. And then we get the creepy elevator scene. First of all, the design for Khonshu looks amazing. Second, it was both creepy and cool how every time the lights flickered out he would get closer and closer. Then Steven turns around and gets scared by Khonshu. And I really liked how when the camera spun around to show Steven‘s reaction it does a really great transition to Steven screaming on the bus. Then when Steven looks out the window, we get the horror movie style moment by him seeing Khonshu standing on the other side of the street, but when another bus passes he’s gone. And then we see that Arthur has followed Steven which was a pretty eerie moment. Then when Arthur confronts Steven in the museum, I really liked how no matter which way you turn he was surrounded by one of Arthur’s followers. And I loved the Avatar joke, it was just really funny. It was also really funny how when other people walked into the room Steven just ran away. Then we get the really creepy scene where Steven is walking through the museum in the dark and the creature is following behind him. I’ve gotta say the design for that creature was terrifying looking. Then we see Steven lock himself in the bathroom where he has his first interaction with Marc. And I really liked how protective Marc was over Steven. I also really liked how they used the mirrors for the two to communicate because not only did it look really cool but it’s as if Steven were just talking to himself, which he technically is. And I love how after he transforms into Moon Knight and started fighting the creature, it tried to escape but he pulls it back in with him. Then we get to see Moon Knight beat the creature to death which was awesome. Then he turns around and we get to see his full costume. This was an incredible first episode that far exceeded my expectations. I cannot wait to see where the show goes from here and I’m super excited for next week’s episode.
The accent is a bit off (coming from the perspective of an englishman) but its one of the best british accents coming from an american that ive seen. And his performance was great. So glad Oscar is in the MCU. This pilot was awesome.
It's seemingly meant to be a bit off from what the actor has said. In DID systems accents aren't always 100% stable and can often be stereotypical or have stereotypical language used because it is a person's subconscious (their brains) interpretation of an accent. And the interpretation can often come from the media they consumed as a traumtized child( or media as an adult if it's a recent alter split). And DID systems don't have a dialect coach to iron out and inconsistencies in accent so there can be slip ups that happen when speaking in an unnatural (from the bodys muscle memory stand point)accent. But also Steven is just very awkward as a person...so the things he says can sound off and strange.
Brilliant! As an entire episode it was nearly flawless. Come in not knowing what is going on, and finding out just enough but not revealing all. The “swap”, how for him it’s almost like a blip.
Great first episode. And as a German it's always fun to see places where you have been in a show. Even though castle Eltz miraculously teleported from the West of Germany to the Alps in the south 😂
You know what I just noticed? They referenced Avatar. A movie with Zoe Saldana. So in the MCU there is a Gamora played by Zoe Saldana, and a real Zoe Saldana. That's a real Last Action Hero situation.
What a fantastic intro for this series ! For some reason, it reminds me a little of the Mummy, in the way it was kinda a horror mystery action adventure movie set with Egyptian mythos, not unlike what Moon knight is, but crossed with Mission Impossible and Fight Club. The cinematography, art direction, score, acting, pacing, and gosh the editing (all the flashes when he slips in and out, and the What the Fish !)... THAT's how you open a series ! Really looking to see the series unravelling ! The next 5 wednesdays are gonna be awesome !
Sooo- they're 100% mocking Erik Voss from New Rockstars with the absurd and obnoxious "omg so deep" symbolism talk, right? I mean- only he can turn a dust particle into a whole thesis about the duality of man.
Something I loved is how they put us in the perspective of Steven throughout the entire episode. Because Marc is the main host body, and the one who was resurrected by Khonshu, it puts us the viewer in Steven’s shoes as if we’re experiencing his mental troubles and questioning of reality with him. Very genius imo. And I’m sure we’ll get to see Marc’s comic origin and becoming MK (or a version of it) through flashbacks. As someone who’s been a fan of Moon Knight for years, I was incredibly happy with how this first episode was, and love that they saved the suit reveal towards the end. Honestly gets a 10/10 from me
Moon Knight is finally here! Moon Knights been my number 1 fav superhero since i was like 10. This was a fine first episode and a great reaction/review for you guys. But yeah the cast picks, production, music and general feel of this first episode is what i been wanting and hoping for. Cant wait to see how this first season pans out.

What? It's obviously Donna from the museum.
LAAAAAAWL MeFISHto. OK.

Can we just take a moment to acknowledge how terrible that waiter was to select "well done" for Steven's steak. He didn't deserve that.
It kinda makes sense considering how his day was going 😄
he said 'very good' so the waiter translated it to steak language lol
i kinda hope i understand this "steak language" lol all i know is if it's steak it's food

And also its Egyptian director 😂

It’s all up to Disney+ to decide what kind of movies their willing to produce with darker themes. Disney+ is mostly a kids platform. But they need to change the rating. Especially for star wars shows like Boba Fett. It should’ve been as thriller as this.
I hope they do something for this for Daredevil whenever it's a new season or reboot
As a huge fan of the moon knight comics, I love how they've handled it so far it was still surprising but also still felt like moon knight and the addition of knowing frenchie now exists is a bonus
Duchamp, yup.
The disappointment on Steven face when he found out he was late for his date was so good. This show was so good
"This shot is a metaphor for loneliness" killed me
It really only makes sense for EP2 to be Marc's perspective of what happened in EP1, then to really start pulling them all together towards the end or start of EP3 to introduce Layla, Mr. Knight and Khonshu. CANNOT WAIT!
I think that would be great, but I hope that the story doesn't feel rushed by the end compared to the other shows
I kind of don’t want them to do that as it may fuck up the narrative of the story. I think if they carry on keeping the narrative perspective on Steven whilst developing Marc through the eyes of Steven is a better way to go imo.
I cannot wait to be introduced to Khonshu.😁

The acting is phenomenal even if it's just one episode. Really amazing
Right?! So damn good!
@@Wright805 except knoshu is straight up villainous in some instances like when he had Marc attack the avengers.
@@ILoveLuvia I'm aware of those instances, which is why I hope they aren't adapted.
Dude where's Jake Lockely.

Oscar Isaac's so good that when Steven felt distressed, I felt it too. When he missed his date and trying to keep himself composed, man I felt so bad.
Theories:
The broken glass-filled sandals is a "litmus test" for regenerative powers.
4:18 I see Oscar brought some stormtroopers over with him into Moon Knight with that aim.
I love how disconnected this was from the MCU

I got real Venom vibes from this. The interaction between them both in their bodies and him closing his hand without his own will kinda stuff

It's good to have Oscar Isaac in the MCU. At this point all the big names are coming to the MCU because MCU is relevant 💪
Yesss! Oscar is a fantastic actor! Also nice name lol
At this point, every Hollywood actors/actress will either be part of Marvel or DC films as long as they fit the narrative.

@@TheChiraagG I always thought karl urban sounded like jack sparrow hahah
@@TheChiraagG yes, my sister invited a guy from outside of London to come to us . And his english was diffrent from what I heard before .

I’ve been a Moon Knight fanboy for years, this was just an incredible opening, I’m _praying_ it retains this quality throughout.
Moon knight reminds me of skipping cutscenes in a video game and you end up straight in the action
I like the fact that just about everything that was in the trailer was in the very 1st episode. They didn't give any plot away at all, which is great.

I personally loved the loud music, it made the scenes feel a lot more chaotic

I felt bad for Steven from the first time he calls his mom, 'cause I'm watching it like, "oh, dude, your mom doesn't exist."
And then when he misses his date, he was so sad that he ordered a steak. I've never felt bad for a vegan before, so all the credit to Oscar Isaac for selling that performance.
Been a massive fan of this character for so many years and I'm so glad Feige and the MCU people had enough understanding and faith in Moon Knight to see the potential and then realize it. for the people who are intrigued by this first episode and are loving moon knight you should definitely checkout legion another masterpiece show by Marvel

Guys it's just dawned on me... but what if Steven's 'mum' who he's been calling, isn't actually his mum? Like he's just been calling a random lady, but he doesn't know that.😭
I was thinking that 😔
Noo😢
Sorry to said this but I think Erik Voss of New Rockstars have a video about your comment on Steven's mum and his existence in the Moon Knight. So yeah, this would break Steven's heart and would lead to an actual breakdown once he would soon discovered it. 😔
I think Marc Set this up for him so that Steven can talk about his day, that way Marc knows what he's been up to.
@@marbleb33s that's a really good theory and pretty plausible

Out of all the reaction videos, this is my fav bc you guys actually paid attention and appreciated Oscar Isaac’s performance! Thank you for that
My favorite shot was damn near the end, in the bathroom. I love that the editors removed Marc from the dual
mirror visual from the repeating foreground so that Steven could only see the one right before his face and truly let him in.
13:58 "it's like a universal studios ride" - 10/10 joke right there!

This is awesome and this episode 1 I will give 9.5/10 very interesting and very insane and epic 🔥
There’s a recent run in the comic that does a really good job, too
This is cinema at it's finest! love you guys and keep it up.
Let’s goooooo luv you guys 🖤
Brilliant! As an entire episode it was nearly flawless. Come in not knowing what is going on, and finding out just enough but not revealing all. The “swap”, how for him it’s almost like a blip.
Oscar Isaac a beast!! Cannot wait for the next episode!
Great first episode. And as a German it's always fun to see places where you have been in a show. Even though castle Eltz miraculously teleported from the West of Germany to the Alps in the south 😂
Moon Knight is the Marvel version of Mr.Robot
You know what I just noticed? They referenced Avatar. A movie with Zoe Saldana. So in the MCU there is a Gamora played by Zoe Saldana, and a real Zoe Saldana. That's a real Last Action Hero situation.
Same for JK Simmons with Paramount's Avatar franchise.
Watching Steven in this episode felt like watching myself from 2 years ago
Now that it's been 2 years what do you think of yourself then
What a fantastic intro for this series !
Honestly gets a 10/10 from me
As an episode 1 I thought this was a 10/10
Moon Knight is finally here! Moon Knights been my number 1 fav superhero since i was like 10. This was a fine first episode and a great reaction/review for you guys. But yeah the cast picks, production, music and general feel of this first episode is what i been wanting and hoping for. Cant wait to see how this first season pans out.
