Things to remember: 🌱Ratio: 1cup lentils to 2 cups water 🌱Heat: Low to Medium Heat 🌱Spread thin for wraps 🌱Leave thick for tacos 🌱Lightly Oil your skillet between each wrap
I also added spices: salt, onion powder, garlic powder, turmeric, paprika, nutritional yeast. When cooking the batter, I put vegan cheese shreds and spinach on top, immediately after pouring and tilting the frying pan, then fold and finish cooking - - it’s a vegan cheese spinach “omelette”.
I just thought about this...the lentils are cooked enough in the skillet? And you are right. Your body & feelings will tell you what it needs. And only eat when you're truly hungry. It's amazing.
Oh thank you! Just bought red lentils on sale in bulk. Need to eat gluten free so this is sooo helpful for me to have great wraps. Just found your channel😊❤
I made them today and still can't believe that it was really that easy from start to finish. Made wraps and filled them with seitan and vegetables. Delicious! Thank you!
Yes, brilliant! 😀 I added onion salt & sea salt (total 1tsp) plus 1/2tsp kashmiri chili pepper. Brushed the pan with ghee & had 3 flatbreads topped with with rajma (Suhana style seasoning - which is lamentably unavailable in Canada now 🤕). It was downright scrumptious! Thank you so much! 🙋
What a wonderful refreshingly honest video. I will definitely be trying these. They look amazing. I only came across your channel today. Keep up the great work.
@@happyJan2516 They turned out really well! I made a huge one and used it as a pizza base, didn't tell family, they just thought it was thin crust pizza lol
@@tracybaker9193 oh I will. You have inspired me. So, i a, gluten free and make amazing pizza base with natural yoghurt and flour, so i am thinking replace yoghurt with lentil batter….. oh well i do love to try new things! Watch this space lol
I heard your accent and was like ‘ok, she hadda be Trini’. Checked out your IG to confirm, hehe! Love the lentil wraps! 😍 Haven’t made these yet but next time I bubble up ah vegan curry it’s defo gonna be my side dish! 😋
I did it with normal brown lentils and didnt like the taste so i added salt and black pepper, garlic powder to the batter anf tasted better. Next time ill try the red lentils
I love making theses. I was just about to make some so your instruction was well done! I am a fellow near chubby Vegan. I love good tasty food and cooking, and will allow myself to indulge in homemade bread without feeling guilty, Thank you!
So pleased to have found your Chanel really going to give these ago as I’m on a diet so these would be perfect for me love light & Angel Blessing from 🇬🇧❤️❤️🙏🏻
Tried same recipe from another RUclipsr … didn’t like at all. Even added seasoning. Was hoping for an Indian flatbread or Naan texture/taste/feel. I guess I’m out of luck with flourless (wheat) bread.
I have made the these before with other's people recipes. But I really understand it better from your demo. you can freeze the ɓatter as well it makes great pancakes.😅
I saw so many shorts and whatnot and none gave me what I was looking for! Thank you. I accidentally cooked mine after soaking the first time😅 and we’ll I tried to fry them and they just were like mush. There was no way around it. I even added whole grain flour and nothing. So started over and I’m hoping they definitely come out as intended this time. (They’re currently soaking. I may come back to edit my comment).
OK, I must be doing something wrong! Mine came out to be a mushy mess. I followed the directions specifically. I even switched pans to see if that was the problem. It's like they need a binder or something but it was not too liquidy. It just didn't stay together. The pancake stays together and I think it's because of the egg. This did not stay together, it swirled around the pan beautifully cooked around The edges beautifully but the center even when it was cooked all the way through would not stay together when I flipped it. I was very very careful. Please suggest what I might do differently. Thank you so much for your help.
These taste amazing. I add salt to the mix because the lentils have an aftertaste that I don’t like. The salt kills that and makes the bread neutral tasting.
The possibilities are endless though! Probably grilled veggies or falafel…fresh lettuce and tomatoes…avocados…Literally anything sweet or savory goes well with these wraps!
Thank you for this video on the red lentil soft taco/wrap. You make it look easier and it seems to be. Hopefully I I can do it and flip them. Instead of coconut oil can I use a small amount olive oil for each to cook? How long will they last in the freezer? How long in refrigerator if we don’t freeze them? Also will parchment paper work well in between them if no wax paper?
Thanks for checking in! Everything is great…just that life and work keeps me out the kitchen..and when I do go in…it’s always something quick and easy. But I’m hoping to get back into it! Happy you enjoyed!
OMG I love the sign in the back, “knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad”….LOL.
I messed around and made lentil pancakes 🥞. Thank you for sharing this!!!

Wonderful! But lentils release a toxic substance when soaked so you should discard the soaking water and replace with fresh.
Loved the video. Loved the advice at end. 👍🏾 Looking forward to further recipes 😊

This is a wonderful recipe. Thank you!
🥰🥰🥰🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 sweet lady! Thank you!
Thanks for the easy instructions
Thank you for sharing! Glad I found your channel today! :-)
This looks so good. Can you use any lentil or does it have to be red lentils?
Red lentils are just easier and more pliable. Brown lentils will be more coarse but it can work as well.
Clean clear instructions
These taste amazing. I add salt to the mix because the lentils have an aftertaste that I don’t like. The salt kills that and makes the bread neutral tasting.
Can I please ask how much salt you add?
WOWWWWWWWW. This is so much easier than I thought it would be lol.
Would love to meal prep and freeze this!
I love it. Superb!
This is a really good idea! Thanks for sharing 😁👍🏾👍🏾 def gonna try this.
Thanks for sharing. What is your favorite wrap contents?
The possibilities are endless though! Probably grilled veggies or falafel…fresh lettuce and tomatoes…avocados…Literally anything sweet or savory goes well with these wraps!
"Tacos" are a dish - tortillas are an ingredient to make a taco - you made an alternative to the tortilla... Great job though!!!

They are great but PLEASE add a little seasoning to the batter! Salt and pepper at least, maybe onion or garlic salt, or celery salt.
Thank you, Sweet Lady !
You have a lovely smile.
Hello Sis just found your channel, and glad I did. I am living a keto lifestyle, is this keto friendly? Also I love your accent, where are you from?
Hi! This particular recipe is definitely Keto friendly. I’m from Trinidad and Tobago… 🇹🇹 Tobago to be exact (The smaller island)
I’m making this tomorrow! Can’t wait!
I'm making this tomorrow for our homemade gyro
Wonderful!!!
I’m wondering if you could add flaxseed meal to this batter??
Is this a non stick pan or stainless steel?
Loving this recipe
I got the green lentils. Can i use them.
Thank you SO much for this!!!
I'll try right now! Thanks 😊
Thank you looks amazing 👏
Thank-you
Why didn't you show what it looked like on the inside?
thank you
Can this mixture be refrigerated?
Yes…a couple days
Awesome
how long did you soak the lentils for?
Hi there…I soak them overnight or 8 hours in the daytime.
Definitely trying this.
Thanks for this. Will give it a go. You haven’t posted recently. I’ve just found your channel. Hope everything is ok 😊

@@kimonaeats that’s good news! Yes you’re a breath of fresh air x
How many tortilla wraps does it make?
How do you store these? Are they shelf stable, or need to be refrigerated?
Hi… Refrigerator or Freezer is best. I usually store them in a Ziplock bag. I warm them up in an oven or toaster oven.
Take a shot every time she says ok 😂
❤ them! Ty!
How long can you store the batter?
I haven’t stored it for longer than 2 days in the Fridge.
Does this not work with brown lentils?
Yes but it’s more work and not as pliable.
I tried this today and it just turned out bad. I need to get a non stick pan.
Definitely need a nonstick pan for this recipe. Really hope your next try is successful! It’s worth it! ☺️
I am happy to see this recipe for a very healthy way to make wraps.
Reggealeleletils
I tried making these. I ended up throwing it all out. They tasted awful and just didnt work
That is like a crepe
Taco is a finished dish, I think you mean tortilla.
