    Great video!
    Pilot: By far he best job in the world. You have a moving office in the clouds. What can be any better than that? In my 40s now. Since a kid I have always loved flying and really wanted to become a pilot. My only regret is that there wasn't youtube and gopros and so many great videos like this. I am sure I would have pursued my dream and taken it more seriously. I am fortunate to make a lot of dollars and work in an office and all, but pilot was and still is my dream.

      According to EASA Rules, it is allowed to fly such a flight without rest, so they don't need a real break. On EW Flights to Bangkok or Las Vegas for example, they are enlarged by one more SFO

      CraZy291 only for very long haul flights is there a legal requirement for more than 2 pilots. There is a great article with all the details here : www.flightdeckfriend.com/how-many-hours-can-pilots-work-in-one-day/

    Why all pilots uses of word "rotate" for takeoff?
    During the landing - master work with the thrust levers. :)

    • @gasbejargasbejar846
      @gasbejargasbejar846 5 лет назад +1

      Rotate= just when you have to Up your nose.
      The advice during take off are:
      V1= velocity when you can not reject the take off becase you have not enough Runaway to stop the plane safetily.
      Rotate= velocity when you have to rise the airplane nose so you have to push down the jostick
      V2= velocity when you have enough speed yo climb With only one engine.

      They say rotate because it's like an instruction. It means pull in your direction the yoke/stick.

    • @hd4870x2
      @hd4870x2 5 лет назад +1

      The Condor acft behind was most likely a B767. Simple mixup, happens all the time. Important info is that theres an acft on the rwy. Nobody cares if its a B777, A340 etc...

  • @rumco

    Why did the captain land as well as take off?

    • @gerardciurans5373
      @gerardciurans5373 5 лет назад +2

      rumco because every flight is performed by one pilot flying (one who’s taking off n landing and the other just monitoring and asisting the flying one) and the roles are the same for the entire flight. Then, they normaly switch the roles in the next leg.

    • @MisterBukkit
      @MisterBukkit 5 лет назад

      Because one of both is always doing T/O and LDG for one flight, they swap roles in the return flight back to Cologne

    • @calvinbartel
      @calvinbartel 5 лет назад

      rumco they usually have the same pilot fly the entire distance. The first officer will probably take off and land on the way back :-)

    • @nielsturegroenlund
      @nielsturegroenlund 5 лет назад

      Usually the pilots (Captain and First Officer) share the duties between them, meaning that on one flight the Captain will fly the plane, and on another the First Officer will.
      In that way, both of them gets to fly, and maintain their handflying skills.

    • @aeblelagret
      @aeblelagret 5 лет назад

      rumco that’s how it works. The first officer will take off and land when flying the other way.

    One or two pilot crews - 8 hours max
    Two pilots and one additional flight crewmember: 12 hours max

    • @MisterBukkit
      @MisterBukkit 5 лет назад +2

      Nope thats wrong. It depends on a lot of facts like the time of departure, the rest time after the flight, the time difference between destination and origin, etc. It is allowed to have a two man cockpit on such a flight. But for flights from Cologne to Bangkok, Seattle or Las Vegas for example, they need a 3rd man and a crew rest.
