The art style in the movie looks more like manga but please don't try to downgrade the anime now I'm saying this to everybody first season of Chainsaw man imo was the best looking anime by Mappa ever you can see how much passion was there for the anime and also them doing 12 different endings for every episode says a lot about how much they cared for this manga it now has different director Tatsuya Yoshihara who was previously the director for Black Clover and recently Wistoria he was also the action director of Chainsaw Man in the first season the main director of the the first season was Ryu Nakayama he was also really good he had a vision and tried to do something unique and different for the anime as the author Fujimoto really loved movies he wanted the anime to look cinematic the director did that but Japanese fans didn't like it because it wasn't colorful or vibrant it didn't feel like Chainsaw man they knew the manga covers of chainsaw man are really colorful so they expected the anime to be like that but the direction in anime was more realistic, cinematic and most of the time the color palettes were muted japanese fans didn't like that so the director was harassed and now we have Yoshihara in charge as the movie director I personally love both of the art styles they are both different and unique in their own way I loved season 1 because it felt different I loved how cinematic it was but I also really love movie's direction it really looks like the manga came to life with it's new art style season 1 of CSM was a 10/10 adaptation now that this trailer dropped people see it and says this is how the anime should be or 1st season was bad like the previous director gave us some kind of Berserk 2016 or something
