I have seen Jimmy Buffett in concert about five times I absolutely love him and I never get tired of his music
The first concert I ever attended was a Jimmy Buffett concert, when I was about seven years old. I can still remember a LOT about that day, from my dad running up to the stage at the end of the concert thinking he would be able to ask Jimmy if he wanted to go sailing with us the next day, to his friend Cliff running to the Circle K while we waited on the ferry crossing, so that he could get a six pack of Lone Star 😂. Open containers were legal back then!
Supposedly, the restaurant on Cabbage Key in Southwest Florida is the inspiration for this song. It’s been quite some time since I’ve been there, but they have EXCELLENT Key Lime pie too!
Jimmy has quite the catalog of songs. It’s amazing that it took him doing a song with Alan Jackson for him to finally win some major hardware.. “A Pirate Looks at 40” is a must react.
He has restaurants called “Cheese burger in paradise “ and he also has the “Margaritaville”chain. Very good food
Best concert ever at the Fontainbleu in Florida ,fins every where. Thanks for the memory.
He describes his music as "drunk carribean rock and roll music" but hes a great story teller. One of my favorites is a pirate looks at forty
A Pirate Looks at 40 is one of his all time best, right up there with Come Monday. But my favorites from Jimmy are Son of a Son of a Sailor and Changes in Latitudes. It is hard to go wrong with Buffet.

Our tradition on road trips is to pop in Jimmy Buffet CD and sing to the top of our lungs!!! I live In Memphis and know about Dyer's! A big tradition for years! Jimmy Buffet has restaurants and his sister has restaurant in Orange Beach, Ala. Check out his CDs. All fun and some sad. His fans are called Parrot Heads! He is from Pascogola, Mississippi. One of his funniest songs is off color, but hilarious, " Let's Get Drunk And Screw"!!!
Our cafeteria in high school played music at lunch and this song was played alot it was the frist time I heard of jimmy buffet.

In the mid 70s before he became THE JIMMY BUFFETT, Jimmy was the free concert at the University of North Alabama in Florence Alabama. He came back to the Soals area a couple of years later and recorded the album, Coconut Telegraph, across the Tennessee River at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. Great album!
Been to several of his concerts... everyone knows all the words to all the songs - they’re very fun!!

I saw Jimmy Buffet live in Mississippi in 1978, just lots of fun. I’m not sure if that the 1st time I heard it though. It’s one of his most popular ones. One of his other great ones is Pencil Thin Moustache.
Son of a son of a sailor and sailor looks at 40 are great he's from Florida and that's where I fell in love with his music
He's actually from Mississippi, and got his musical start in New Orleans and along the Gulf Coast. But he has alot of time living in Fl for sure. I'm a life long Parrot Head and also lived in the Keys for a while.

I saw Jimmy Buffet in the 70s and he played this song. There is a place on Oahu and I think the Big Island now called Cheeseburger in Paradise. He doesn't own them but I think he gets a percentage of profits. Great burgers and they play the song often.
One of Jimmy Buffets first songs and greatest hits is Come Monday and will always be my favorite. His girlfriend, who is his wife now, helped him to video and record that song. I heard this song for the first time years ago and, for reasons I cannot describe, I was mesmerized. It was so ridiculous! Haha! But fun! And then, we ended up in one of the “Cheeseburger In Paradise” restaurants years later. I had no idea he had these restaurants! Let me tell you..the restaurant is as fun as the song.

My dad was a Parrot head so I inherited my love for Jimmy Buffett....my favorite song is not one of his more well known but I love "Pacing the Cage"

Not sure where else he has Margaritaville restaurant but at Myrtle Beach, SC his restaurant serves a “Cheeseburger in Paradise.” I have went to try to get in at a decent time, but they always have such a long wait time, I normally go elsewhere bc they have ssssssooooooo many different delicious places to eat.
There is so much to say but I'll keep it short, a good catchy song but not the best example of Buffets easy going brilliance. But fun and on the light positive side. Good choice for the current state of the world.

I don't know if you drink, but if you're ever near Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, you need to go to Margaritaville. It's such a cool place even if you don't drink. My mom, bestie, and I went for my 19th birthday several years ago and it's such a fun atmosphere.
Saw him live about 10 years ago and he puts on a very fun show. His large fan base are called parrotheads and they know how to party

I was about 10 when this song came out - another one of those fun 70's songs. They just don't make good silly songs anymore.

OK, this one definitely makes me remember riding around with friends when in high school, riding in a guy's Z-28 with T-tops, and us females standing up through the top and singing and yelling, just having a good time.
Driving around seemed to be a big pastime during my junior high and high school days. And also finding places to hide where we could drink without getting caught.

This song came out when I was 9 and I would go around singing the chorus..we moved when I was in the 6th grade and I met my best friend that I still have and talk to about everyday and we usually get together every Saturday and drink our beverages and listen to old songs and reminise (going on 40 years) well this song came on when we were in the pool and she started laughing and singing.and we were talking about how I taught her that chorus when we first met each other,we proceeded to belt it out as loud as we could(yes my kids think we are crazy) and my neighbors,oh well,lol

I am a boater. Jimmy Buffet’s music is well known on that circuit as essential boating music. That said, I CANNOT stand it!!! Im the only one I know like NO!! when it’s played amongst our fellow boaters, including my own boyfriend lol! I DO love that Jimmy B has a retirement community in FL called Margaritaville complete with tiki bars & pool bars.. i hope to wind up there lol
