degrom going at it like he never left praying he stays healthy
Sorry it was late today! Had to do my Peacock TV segment this morning
bro apologizing for being the goat
no need to apologize as long as i'm getting my pitching ninja content i don't care
Thank you! It stresses me out being late. :)
Thank you!
Whatre you covering on peacock? Been considering getting it but havnt justified it with any great shows.
deGrom is what happens when you mix elite physical levers with perfect mechanics. He generates so much separation and I think he is basically what happens when you create the perfect pitcher.
I can't wait until we see a lefty deGrom.
We did, he was 1998-2002 Randy Johnson
@@pranavarora9976 Yeah. I am wondering if we can even push past that lol. Mechanics and understanding of the science of pitching has improved alot since then. I think we can push even farther past with the right athletic profile.
@@pranavarora9976 haha love it. people forget how unhittable that guy became in the middle of his career.
@@pranavarora9976 Randy wasn't really known for his control tbh
There might be a touch of Icarus in deGrom. Pitching right on the razor’s edge of what a human arm is capable of.
The Diaz black-and-white to color transition was awesome! 🙂
I love the overlays. It really shows the art of pitching and also helps viewers at home understand pitching better. Great video once again and thanks for what you do!
Really makes you re-think every time you say "How could someone swing at that!?" before realizing the same motion looks like a high 90's fastball or a high 80's breaking pitch.
@@aaronwhite1786 I’m 60 years old and can’t remember another time in my life when there was unanimous agreement on the best pitcher in baseball. Maybe because Pedro and Johnson’s best years overlapped.
Absolutely deGrominating folks
Great to see McCullers back in there
Uncle Charlie still throws some pretty Uncle Charlies
Trevor May getting recognized two appearances in a row and it warms my heart, he came back from the IL with fire in his eyes!
He SUCKS
There needs to be a second channel called the “Hitting Ninja”
DeGoat truly
That Chapman slider was ridiculously nasty
Gotta say I love the Giolito Rockette K strut
You should show the Texas Rangers rally pigeon for the next moment of zen!
My roommate overheard me watching this, and said ‘Filthiest B*tches!!??’
Ha! Love it.
Love the vids
Thanks for the vids ninja
Noting like a little pitcher on pitcher crime.
I was waiting for this
Pitching ninja let’s go
I've been saying it all season I think burnes is the cy young winner, he's just too nasty... His location is the best in mlb to me. Now if Degrom was healthy all year... he might be most untouchable when his slider is on.
Edit am I only person who remembers when chapman had that knuckleball splitter thing earlier in season? Maybe that's what injured his arm but man that was nightmare fuel I can't get out of my head. lol
Mcclanahan got a split two seem splitter change up grip lol
Is the slider or the curve better at the pro level?
Good question. Depends whose slider or curve. Typically a slider, but it really depends on the overall arsenal and the particular slider or curve
@@PitchingNinjaVideos thank you!
Wow I’m never this early
Mariano rivera only had one pitch, a cutter. He was a first ballot unanimous hall of famer. I would say he had the perfect cutter.
Why do all of the content creators for baseball have to have betting in there videos?
sheeesh
Didn’t Rivera Throw his cutter 94% of the time and also threw it in the same spot (top left) extremely often and yet it was basically unhitable?
Bro Wainwright is insane. He barely breaks 90 with a fastball. But can no hit the Brewers through more than half a game and throw a complete game with 8 strikeouts. He out pitch Corbin Burnes.
Could u imagine if the cards never gave away gallen and sandy
Burnes is elite, don't get me wrong. But last year and this years true Cy Young in the NL is Degrom. And it's not close.
Sandy Alcántara seeing deGrom throw a 92-mph changeup: "Amateur"
deGrom seeing Alcántara throw a 90 MPH slider: “Amateur.”
Drew Rasmussen will be the most dominant pitcher for you Ninja
Burned might be in the NL cycle young race but no way anybody wins but alcantra
Karl Malone. Malone.
Please stop saying 'such-and-such' doing 'such-and-such' stuff.
It was old a year ago.
The Nola vs Degrom game may have been the best pitching match of the season. Both pitchers retired 16 batter in a row and pitched absolutely lights out. Nola went a complete game giving up only one run in the first, but Degrom was just on another level and picked apart the Phillies offense.
Nola went 8 but there was no opportunity to pitch the 9th, is that still a CG?
@@Daniel-ox1sb yeah, but he still gets the lost
It may be the best pitching matchup of the year. But did you see the Mariners v Yankees game last week with Luis Castillo vs Garret Cole both pitching shutouts plus the bullpens held until the M's walked it off in the 13th!
The 1964 Koufax/Drysdale to 2022 deGrom/Scherzer comparison continues. Admittedly its not a fair comparison in that Drysdale pitched 321 innings with 21 complete games. Koufax 223 innings 15 complete games. Numbers that deGrom/Scherzer won't come anywhere near. But it's fun any way. In 1964 Koufax's ERA was 1.74 2022 deGrom's is 1.62. 1964 Drysdale's ERA was 2.18, Scherzer's is 1.93. It's worth noting that Koufax had exactly 223 KO's in 223 innings.
The mound was 6 inches higher too, which apparently is a big deal.
I got 6 or more ks for kevin gausman shane beiber zach wheeler braxton garrett and chris bassitt
Thank you ninja
Pitching ninja is a routine
Not subscribing to a channel that is sponsored by gambling...love the video's though.
Hey, Rob, I'm just curious. Who's your favorite rookie pitchers this year, reliever or otherwise? Greene, Duran, Detmers and others are all making great debuts this year.
Spencer Strider & Jhoan Duran would be my favorites (With a nod to both Greene and Detmers who will be studs for years)
Aroldis Chapman;s slider should have a Biohazard warning flash up on it. That thing is filthy.
Wheeler 5 K's. Bassitt 5 K's. Ouch.
I know. 1 K from winning with each. And of course, I was wrong on both.
@@PitchingNinjaVideos Betting on sports is a quick trip to the poor house.
If you ask my wrists. I've had the best Cutters of all time
Cant do JRam like that 😂
W
Waino is insane. He barely break 90 with a 4 seam but yet he no hits the Brewers through more than half the game and throws a complete game with 8 Ks and barely over a hundred pitches our pitching Corbin Burnes
Out pitching Corbin Burnes
