The overlays of deGrom's mechanics are absolute insanity. The ability to have nearly identical mechanics on every pitch is just beyond words. Just wish that his body would cooperate more and allow him to be healthier
Heaney also slightly lowered his arm slot (he’s now got a very similar slot to Sean Manaea), which gives his fastball a much better “rising” effect. It has a very flat VAA with the new arm slot, which is basically the same thing Paul Sewald did to turn his fastball into a weapon
You mentioned Fried's 2 earned runs but not Degrom's 3 earned runs. Also, Degrom was the losing pitcher and Fried was the winning pitcher. I understand 'pitcher of the day' is subjective, but how can Degrom be the ' pitcher of the day' when he lost the pitching dual?
It’s nice to see Heaney having success. I didn’t think it was right that the Yankees only acquired him to be the trash man, or the “hey we give up, here’s free BP” guy
Burnes for cy young... even the mighty dodgers struggled vs him. Honestly I think the pirates pitcher was super impressive, you've featured him a few times now and his 2 seamer is super legit. No clue about him but I gotta pay more attention to him edit - DeGrom 's slider is just not fair period. A good fastball that has that movement is just broken. If every pitcher was DeGrom Baseball would be forced to change the game... lol
I think what’s most beautiful about the curveball is that the hand slot and mvmt can at times be very obvious it is going to be a curballs but it moves so much u dk where it’s going to be when u swing even if u know lol
I think another thing with Heaney is that he also scrapped the weird glove torque thing that he used to do before his stride, instead just having a little tap. Could have helped his timing and helped keep his shoulders in line
Wait ... that's not a foul ball ... ????? And the runner at the plate was safe. Personally think there was more than enough evidence, that's a terrible replay decision.

He could probably take 3-5 ticks off his velo and still be nails and be out there way more consistently

Yep--I was gonna use the Manaea example!
Brubaker baffles Boston's big boppers

Right?
Ninj focuses more on the quality of the pitches, not the game. As a biased Braves fan, however, I agree with you.
Some generous pitch placement by the pitch tracker on DeGrom, credited him with strikes that were never strikes.
Jacob Dgoat back at it again
Back to taking L's against the Braves
He was the losing pitcher... 3 ERs... I'm unsure why didn't mention those when he mentioned Fried's ERs.
0:59 Striking a guy out on 3 pitches looking should be called a “customer service special.”
“How may I help you?”
“Oh, I’m just looking.”
Pitching is such a beautiful form of Art!!
Brady Singer vs Shane McClanahan today 🔥
He was safe on Sampsons glove flip
May have been. Not enough evidence to overturn the out call. But yeah, I think so too.
I was noticing that also haha ...still, the flip was nice
Your videos have helped me develope mentally as a pitchers so much this summer love the videos!!!
deGrom isn't human
Daniel Vogelbach (Mets #32) is a thicc boy. There's a special place in my heart for husky baseball players. Lol

0:09 Exactly...WHAT ARE YOU DOIN'?
MLB pitchers love this channel you gotta subscribe if you are constant here 🔥

That stuck-in-the-dirt foul ball must've had some serious tack on it!
Fried vs degrom was what Verlander vs cease should've been
Hot take: max fried is the most underrated pitcher in the geme
10000000000% agree

Another observation on Heaney, maybe a silly one, is that he stopped moving his glove during his mechanics.
we (the braves) go to him early tho
Going today with young studs all of them on the road:
. Aschcraft QS + W vs PIT
. Crawford QS & 5Ks+ vs BAL
. Ashby 6+ Ks vs CHC
I think another thing with Heaney is that he also scrapped the weird glove torque thing that he used to do before his stride, instead just having a little tap. Could have helped his timing and helped keep his shoulders in line
The fact people can hit off deGrom is still mind boggling, given how often he switches his mechanics up
Jacob Degrom and Nacho Libre: But we lost
That Gallen curveball is just unfair 3:40
there must be nothing harder to hit than a backdoor cutter. it looks out of the zone for 40ft
Strider > DeGrom
Boston has really fallen apart, 59-60, talk about a meltdown
Redsox haven’t had pitching all year
Hot take: Max Fried is the best lefty in the NL
Clayton kershaw though
Rodon
Kershaw or Rodon
Fried is objectively better than Kershaw and Rodon this year
@@SandraTelep remember I said “Hot take” I don’t care what you think

Karl Malone. Malone.

too bad your picks are wrong like 90% of the time.
I've noticed he picks pitchers that are pitching in Colorado quite a bit. Hard for pitchers to dominate there.
Everybody's a critic
Good thing then that he's the Pitching Ninja, not the Gambling Ninja.
Pitching to be fair is a pretty damn hard thing to predict outcomes
