The overlays of deGrom's mechanics are absolute insanity. The ability to have nearly identical mechanics on every pitch is just beyond words. Just wish that his body would cooperate more and allow him to be healthier

He could probably take 3-5 ticks off his velo and still be nails and be out there way more consistently

Heaney also slightly lowered his arm slot (he’s now got a very similar slot to Sean Manaea), which gives his fastball a much better “rising” effect. It has a very flat VAA with the new arm slot, which is basically the same thing Paul Sewald did to turn his fastball into a weapon

You mentioned Fried's 2 earned runs but not Degrom's 3 earned runs. Also, Degrom was the losing pitcher and Fried was the winning pitcher. I understand 'pitcher of the day' is subjective, but how can Degrom be the ' pitcher of the day' when he lost the pitching dual?

Ninj focuses more on the quality of the pitches, not the game. As a biased Braves fan, however, I agree with you.

Some generous pitch placement by the pitch tracker on DeGrom, credited him with strikes that were never strikes.

He was the losing pitcher... 3 ERs... I'm unsure why didn't mention those when he mentioned Fried's ERs.

0:59 Striking a guy out on 3 pitches looking should be called a “customer service special.”
    “How may I help you?”
    “Oh, I’m just looking.”

It’s nice to see Heaney having success. I didn’t think it was right that the Yankees only acquired him to be the trash man, or the “hey we give up, here’s free BP” guy

Burnes for cy young... even the mighty dodgers struggled vs him. Honestly I think the pirates pitcher was super impressive, you've featured him a few times now and his 2 seamer is super legit. No clue about him but I gotta pay more attention to him
edit - DeGrom 's slider is just not fair period. A good fastball that has that movement is just broken. If every pitcher was DeGrom Baseball would be forced to change the game... lol

I think what’s most beautiful about the curveball is that the hand slot and mvmt can at times be very obvious it is going to be a curballs but it moves so much u dk where it’s going to be when u swing even if u know lol

I think another thing with Heaney is that he also scrapped the weird glove torque thing that he used to do before his stride, instead just having a little tap. Could have helped his timing and helped keep his shoulders in line
