Your presentation of the technique was super delightful, it feel like a time capsule of what seem to be a magical period for craftsmanship. It feel intimate and informative without the dialogue. Thanks you so much.
Awesome video.....As a artist myself I wish more people in our day and age had passion, vision, and patience like they did 500 years ago! continue to work hard and continued success!
Passion, vision, and patience are relative to the era. Many artists today are quite passionate and are visionaries. But the landscape differs today than what it was in Leo’s time. The way people patron art and even education differs. As far as patience, that would be the most relative aspect, since we have naturals readily available, so, it wouldn’t be necessary to make our own. But the number of artists to day who study modern hyperrealism, the patience one must have to learn art it that extent is great. Yet, it is looked down upon a lot of times.
This is a wonderful video on Silver Point and the historical reference! Just fantastic! I've been metalpoint drawing for two years and it never ceases to thrill me to see it done! Thank you!
Fascinating ....totally absorbing..... I too have been experimenting with Silverpoint and Gold point.... ...on paper grounds, using fine marble dust mixed with tinted acrylic primer... a modern touch that really works... ... Thank You !
Ms. Evelina, you are an incredibly patient artist, not to mention, incredibly artistically talented. I am a 75 year old, 30 year ret., combat disabled vet from 3 wars, and 4 combat tours, with my physical and psychological combat injuries, I would never have the patience to prepare everything that is required for Silverpoint, but I commend you on skill and patience. Your finished results are so beautiful in their accuracy and delicacy, thank you, MSG Leum
They make pre made grounds for silver point and silver point stylus’s if you still want to try it out. Blicks art supply sells them and so does Natural Pigments on their websites 👍🏻👍🏻
This video is beautiful. Your dedication and passion for this is even more beautiful. I've never been exposed to this side of the world where people (true craftspeople) do this much to do simple things we take for granted and it's honestly inspiring and eye opening. Thank you for exposing me to this. It was super relaxing as well. This was an experience to say the least. Take care :)
Thank you for your interesting video connecting us back to the Old Masters. Your drawings are beautiful and I appreciate all of the information you shared. I hadn’t heard of perg before but will definitely give it a try.
Looking at your video I have to admire your dedication and patience for all the research and effort you put into this project. Truly commendable. I would definitely participate in a workshop if ever you gave one and I could attend. Bravo!
i guess Im randomly asking but does someone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid lost the password. I would love any tips you can offer me.
@Devon Alfredo i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Excellent video!!! Why have I not seen this video sooner?! During the Renaissance probably the most convenient place to find chicken bones is to look under the table where hungry artists throw them. 😆 That book has a treasure of information. Excellent book!
Hello, I really loved your video, I like to learn more about the old masters, with your video it inspires me to practice more, I would ask you to put the option of subtitles, greetings from Peru.
You could use a light box to lightly trace. It’s not entirely true that you can’t erase silverpoint. Sometimes if you use light pressure you can erase it, but you’ll have to reapply the grounds after.
Do you know what is the problem with those trying to replicate leonardo art? Leonardo observed intently evey detail of the horse, where the copyist observes the art work, that is where he fails.

Their dedication to make their own materials just to make an art is incredible to be honest.

Absolutely enthralling. I: always wondered what the technique was-I'd forget about it then failed to look it up. :-( Know I know.:-)

Brava!!!
Question: is there a way to get a trace onto the paper before drawing with silverpoint? I can't handle the whole "no eraser" aspect.
You could use a light box to lightly trace. It’s not entirely true that you can’t erase silverpoint. Sometimes if you use light pressure you can erase it, but you’ll have to reapply the grounds after.
@@emelinalenorreys5194 thanks you!
Thanks a lot
Sterling silver in direct sunlight will tarnish heavily, not fade.

Wauuuw ❤

What’s the saliva?

Nowadays it's an easier way to do silverpoint , but that's how it was done .
