So I have an Idea.. what about building a tv/portable stereo using a 17 inch laptop screen and a hdmi video kit for a raspberry pi, portable karaoke boom box!
I am ex-military, worked on microwave radios and radar systems for the last 25 years and beyond anally retentive when it comes to detail and workmanship. I also had a job building kitchen, speaker and sub-woofer cabinets for 2 years in my younger days. In most cases, I almost always find something to critique when watching others work on electronics (anything really? I have issues according to my wife and family, Lol?). The person making this unit has been totally proactive from a quality control standpoint. Loose wires, screws and components from vibration are the death of any electronic device and it is obvious this individual is a professional. It is my opinion that the construction and craftsmanship of this boom box matches the Stradivarius violin? Just like the price of the latter, I doubt many could afford one of these were it offered for sale? Anyways, that was a very long winded way of saying this thing rocks!
The build quality has improved since the last one I saw you build and better materiel. The speakers however cheap and not very good. But it looks way more refined.
Hey, awesome video Btw How much battery life are you getting out of that battery pack? Cause alot of people are making portable speakers with this TDA3116D2 amplifier but no body is mentioning its current draw, or the battery life with their battery setup I am planning to make a portable speaker with the same Amplifier, but not sure how big battery ill need can you help me plz?
Good old glue and screw. But I recommend you invest in proper screwdrivers with long handles. Make sure you get Pozi/Supadrive and cr4ppy Philips. Most folk don't know the difference.
Once again an awesome speaker I love the way it looks I love the light show and the sounds amazing tough this is really good quality speaker wow I enjoy all of your content it's amazing well-crafted amazing really good high-quality speakers man
It's good that you made separate rooms to isolate the speakers from the rest of components that needs to breathe otherwise they will be fried... you just need some holes in the upper section's back side!
There isn't a problem with mounting hardware such as a display in the same compartment as speakers. Nothing will get fried, as you put it. It is most likely to prevent leaks therefore taking off the hassle of trying to seal everything up.
Also just a suggestion can you also show a sound demonstration where the camera is kept away from the speaker like 6-10 meters So then we'll have a good idea on its bass and loudness through your video Cause right now its hard to feel the bass as the camera is kept so close that the microphone is just muting most of the sound
Can this work with 2 1000w subs ?, got them laying around made a mediocre schematic base on one of ur previous videos. But saw this one and like the idea better.
It can be for many reasons. In my case, for example, I like the final results, making and finishing the cabinet is fine, but fixing the electronics with hot glue and the speakers with sealer give all his work a seedy and messy look.
Insane attention to detail in this build. Some questions tho: Did you calculate the box volume for each of the sub chassis? And shouldn't the passive membranes be bigger? Usually 1.5 to 2 times the size of the chassis, if I remember right. And how long will the battery last for, approximately?
Thanks, i want to use it has a portable speaker, because of that sizes need to be reduced, if i was going to use the optimal sizes for the speakers i will ended up with a 2 or 3 times bigger speaker, at medium volumes it will last 7 or 8 hours.
@@DTeK Thanks for the answer! So you think using smaller chassis, so the volume would be optimal could be benificial to sound quality? It obviously gets really loud with chassis of this size, but I can't really judge quality from a video. And that battery live seems good. But how easy could it be expanded in this build?
Back in 2010 i tried building one for myself but failed considerably and most of the reasons have been addressed on this video. Ill redo that project soon
can you make a diy tutorial on how to connect parallel, series or seires parallel 18650 batteries. Also ive got no clue why to connect 4 side of a safety board or something
I used mid woofers and they are good for this aplication, the bateries in full volume will last 2 or 3 hours, depends the music, in mid volume around 7 or 8.
Man please, electric screw driver..... be modern also you should put more support in corners. And only thing I will add here is a metal protection for speakers
besides aliexpress where can i get the same? Aiyima 50W*2 TPA3116 Digital Power Amplifier Board HIFI 2.0 Dual Channel Stereo Audio Amplifier Board Amplificador
@DTeK that would be surpreme to build something similar on a budget. i mean with xlr input, better akku capcity and like you said improved loudness and sound. soundsboks are so expensive 😰. currently i own a jbl charge 3.
Check video description for parts list, music names and additional infos.
Thank you for watching :)

So I have an Idea.. what about building a tv/portable stereo using a 17 inch laptop screen and a hdmi video kit for a raspberry pi, portable karaoke boom box!
Btw DTeK What was the total cost of the build at the end super premium looking came out amazing was wondering how much something like that runs for?

That is one sexy boom box if I do say so myself, and the passive radiators are a nice touch
The build quality has improved since the last one I saw you build and better materiel. The speakers however cheap and not very good. But it looks way more refined.

The best build of this kind I've seen.
Nice project friend, just constructive criticism. It would be better if you use a router to make the hole and recess for the speakers.
thanks, i simply hate routers and circular saws :)

Thank you for making such an amazing video. Lots of detail. I am truly impressed by your work and video quality.
Hello, very appreciated for your comment, thank you.
Very clean and thoughtful build. You literally have planned and thought through everything.
It's good that you made separate rooms to isolate the speakers from the rest of components that needs to breathe otherwise they will be fried... you just need some holes in the upper section's back side!

From which country are you bro?
I liked it Love From India
Exceptional! Congrarutations!

Thanks
Cool form of woofers 😀👍
Very nice and clean wark.
creative hands at its best
Hi, the column is super. Please tell, what glues were used in video 14:19, 14:56
Thanks, instant glue and silicone sealler

Bro, I've answered this question on my channel ❤
Buen proyecto !! Alguien me podría decir cuánto tiempo durara esas 6 pilas ?
I like it... Sir... You are work is great.... 👏👏👏👏👏👏👍🙏
You‘ve got a like just for using 18650 cells and not lead acid batteries like most.
lithium power

WE HAVE A PRETTY COOL ONE!

I'm not understanding how videos like this gets thumb downs 🤷🏾♂️
It can be for many reasons. In my case, for example, I like the final results, making and finishing the cabinet is fine, but fixing the electronics with hot glue and the speakers with sealer give all his work a seedy and messy look.
Yeah men I agree atleast we can do a thumbs up for him.
Or for his editing , assembling , purchasing modules for us.
One could forgive this shoddy workmanship to a 4th grader but from a grown man you'd expect a lot better
How much many?
Bro look at the soldering. All cold joints. I've seen people with Parkinson's do a better job.

Fantástico, meus parabéns!!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
What can we use instead of the charging board? It is sold out and I could n find a replacement excepting a pre made battery.
you can search on aliexpress, its avaliable there :)
Found it 🙃
Just out of curiosity, do you sell these, are these requests, or is it just from your creativity on deciding what to build?
Hi, how did you new the "Vas" of these speakers? Lg
What is the power of sound? And what is the battery life?
Good job!
Very nice. One question can you use the crossover that comes with the component speakers? Or do you have to use the other crossover filters.
Depends the crossovers, in this case the crossovers that i used were better than the "tweeter crossover/filter" that came with the speakers.
Thats really good a work... but that much silicon on the speakers are look funny :D
It looks funny but it's there to seal it properly and he have added a string so he can remove silicon with a pull of string
exactly ;)
I could use less silicon for sealing the speakers but in reality it does not matter if i use a little bit more just to have sure it has a good seal
@@DTeK yes absolutely right but some people don't use their brain and just make compliments
Keep growing 💗
@@DTeK Thank you for replying to me
You do very well . great product
Thanks
Sounds great 👍👍

Hello, in all of my videos i put a wiring diagram in the video, check the video description for more info.
Cuánto te dura la batería al máximo?
nice bit and bass to )
Po mano ficou linda queria saber fazer uma assim tou aprendendo a inda uma perfeição parabéns 👏
Which of your Speakers would you recommend for a small outdoor rave with about 20 people?
JBL Xtreme 2
I have a few with a bigger sound output including the one in this video.
Hello, can you tell me how did you cut the slits in the wood for the leds to shine through?
Hello, i used a jigsaw and a small wood file
Thank you for your reply. Your work is greatly admired. Looking forward to all your inventions.
Thanks, glad you liked
How is the deep bass performance? I am listening deep house. And how long is the battery time in the last volume?
I used mid woofers and they are good for this aplication, the bateries in full volume will last 2 or 3 hours, depends the music, in mid volume around 7 or 8.
Hey mate, I can’t find that blue board in your parts list. The one to adjust volume. By the way killer job
The little amp board
Thanks, its the second on the list
Man please, electric screw driver..... be modern also you should put more support in corners. And only thing I will add here is a metal protection for speakers
The protections are easy to add in the future, about the electric screw driver i prefer to use a manual one for the black screws

Where did you find the buttons to control the leds?
I did them myself using a piece of round plastic

Please try with the tweeter, sqacker, woofer 🔥🔥
I did it already in two of my other videos ;)
did you twist the soldering iron yourself or?
yes, accidentally :)

Amazing love it Masterpiece

What sealer you use before painting?
water based wood sealler from a local shop
Franchement nickel
Do you calculate the capacity of your enclosures?
No, its a portable speaker, if i used the "ideal" specs for the box it will be 3 or 4 times bigger
Good job
Can you put the link for the cables (audio + power) ?
Hello, audio cables are just normal ones, you can find them easyly, for the charger it uses an 25v lithium charger
ESPECTACULAR AMIGO!!!
Brilliant!
Wouldve been alot easier to add an 1/8th" piece instead of chiseling out all that. Great job tho.
