      Gush, gush. Eddie's a technician that expresses little emotion, discounting the random harmonic squeals that metal guitarists use ad nauseum. Operatic and weird. Any blues from Eddie? Lotsa show...
      Stevie Ray Vaughn a one-trick pony with a couple unique constructions in songwriting, desperately trying to copy Hendrix.
      Jimi Hendrix expressed his nervous system through a guitar, made it part of his body, and invented so many unique songs and feelings, from a Royal love song in a toy store to the soundtrack of war that produced the most elegant protest song LIVE IN CONCERT that ended with the military funeral song Taps and not one single word.
      Eddie taps on strings and sound vaguely classical, inspiring modern master technicians like Nuno Bettancourt.
      Ho hum. 😊
      Closest thing to Hendrix is songwriter Jesse Reyes. Check out her homocidal hate in "Mutual Friend" at Canada's Juno Awards. & "Figures." 😢

    I always love how Ed would show up and riff whatever he was working on at the time. This “ripping” solo is a hybrid Man on a Mission solo and everything else on the FUCK album. He was the least skilled guitarist on that stage but at the end of the day, he’s Eddie freaking Van Halen! It’s kind of like inviting Einstein to your math 101 club. 😂

    • @kinkinmyslinky967
      @kinkinmyslinky967 10 месяцев назад

      @@jonholland6067 you have to look at it this way. All the other guitarists are trained musicians that can play any style, any key, any time. From a player’s standpoint they can outperform Ed all night long. Ed, when invited on stage could only play what he had done in the past or what he was currently working on. Listen to what he’s playing in this video. Licks are from man on a mission, judgement day, and a couple other tunes. He just threw them into his turn at bat. Totally out of place. There’s no dispute that Ed was groundbreaking and his contribution to guitar will go on unmatched. Ed on stage playing VH was untouchable. If you look up some old vids where Ed is a guest, you’ll hear what I’m talking about. It wasn’t disrespectful, just an observation.

      @@T.R.R.Jolkien Stevie is a one-trick pony except when he valiently and capably tries to copy Hendrix's songs.
      Stevie Is a guitar player. He, and others, most often forget Jimi's climactic end to Voodoo Chile, playing a trebly D7 chord at the octave with Flamenco strumming going into the highest E bent up off the fretboard.
      Hendrix was a musician and a creative genius. Just listen to his complete Woodstock recording with the rambling improvisations outside the confines of any song. Incredible creativity. Most of Stevie's songwriting sticks to the basic Rockin' Blues progression's I - IV - V chords from 12 bar blues. Hendrix goes there maybe three times in songwriting; Red House, some song I remember the riff and not the title, and another thrown in for good measure. The other standard compositions on Hendrix álbuns were not written by him.
