Cabinets? What cabinets? The star of the show is Kenny, he is adorable. Thanks for the video.

I love Kenny. Awesome parenting.
Thank for all the info
Aww thanks so much ❤️
Most painters I’ve dealt with don’t prep like that, no wonder my paint peels and chips!..Great Video 🤙
terrific upload All Island Applications. I broke the thumbs up on your video. Maintain up the excellent work.
Aww that makes me so happy! I really need to do more video. Clearly people love it.
Great job! Awe Kenny is
So cute
Christina thanks love!
Love your video and Kenny is the cutest. It seems you realize your most important job is to teach and train the younger generation. We need more parents like you. Great job!! W are repairing slight dings and dents in cherry cabinets before painting a creamy white. What is the purpose of the icing? Do we have to use both icing and Bondo? or can we use the Bondo to fill in the small dents?
Thanks!!!
No problem!
Sweet thank you
You bet
Excellent 👏🏼
'.....and that's called sanding!!!' OMG so cute.
Can you explain why you can't use TSP for cleaning, while using shellac based primer, if you are just going to sand off the top finish after the sanding?? TSP solution does not seep into the wood during the initial cleaning since the original finish does not allow that to happen. I have maple wood cabinets, unless that is the case with oak as seen in your video.
Cute video. Any advise for my melamine cabinets? Do I need to still stand and prime?
I'm a jack of all trades and survivor victim of some horrific stuff, so I'm Glad to say I have 5 trades, almost 50 still alive...
First off I wanted a boy to carry on a messed up life I have succumb to and give tools to succeed where I failed... God gave me 3 girls🤦🤦🤦
The parts your son said what he wanted and you carried on like it was scripted is beyond my skill level but most sought after in my book...
I use to sand for Fender guitar aa well as carry my construction trades, and using a sponge sanding pad is a step above...
But I appreciate your ability to be a dad more than what you you thought this would be 🤣🤣🤣
👍👍👍
Thank you! I think 🤔 😝
I've watched my mother murdered, and lived through lot's, and Yes it's probably me, but good job, I think I appreciate your parental ability, and as well as your reasons for video, I appreciate your father badges... Pretty darn cool .I got three girls who are haters of each other...
👍👍👍
Is the cushioned sanding pad a universal pad? Sorry for my ignorance as a women trying to reface her kitchen cabinets... just doing research
You are great at RUclips
Great video. How long to wait for primer to dry before sanding and next coat. Did you use medium or fine foam pad for sanding?
We use med for initial sanding then we prime and give it til next day to sand with fine rad pads
I wash degloss paint 2 coats stopped priming 10 years ago...never have any problems
Nice jobs :)
You’re a good dad, and your work looks like it will last. 👍
Yes it does!
And I try to be a good dad!
Hi ya guys
I was wondering what cfm compressor your using to spray please?
Great video . QUESTION. Can I use the same Airless sprayer and tip for the primer and the paint??
For professionals, they keep it separate. You could use the same equipment, but you have to make sure you clean them thoroughly when switching back and forth.
What do you guys prime your cabinets with?
Wow, that's a lot of work. That's like 6 steps before you paint. And yeah, Kenny is super cute.
Anyone know the brand of those sanding sponges?
Where can i get those foam sand papers
What primer do you use?
I washed with krud kutter, liquid deglossed, sanded, wiped with alcohol, primed with white shellac and still the paint came off within the first month. Any ideas on what went wrong?
Lot of times, it could be the wrong primer/paint combo and the environmental factors in your home.
What grit do you use when sanding mate 500 grit? Or like 120?
220. Any coarser than that, you are leaving scratches. 200 will give the primer enough surface to adhere to. Like he said in the video, just a thin coat of primer is needed, then (imo) 2 coats of painting.
Nice apron
use glue on the tee
I wonder why the boss is not the one talking? That kid is the boss, and dad is the apprentice. Sorry dad!
I cannot get denatured alcohol here in canada. Will isopropyl work or can i just vacuum and go over with tach cloth?
Just vacuum and wipe well with a damp rag. No tack clothe. Tack clothes leave a residue that may not he compatible with some products.
Thanks for the reply. Another couple questions. Looks like you do alot of cabinets, im looking at going white in kitchen. What is a better sheen.... satin or semi gloss finish? Worried about the white turning yellow after a couple years. What is the best paint to use and would you spray polyurethane to finish?
@@kerryb2061 As I understand it (as I'm researching kitchen cabinet painting and furniture restoration), polyurethane over white paint almost guarantees yellowing. Polycrylic would prolly be better, though not as durable. However if you use good enamel paint you should't need a topcoat.
The music makes it hard to focus on what you are saying.
