3:30 The car used to be held together with screws. They didn't remove those posts when they took the screws out of the kit. If you like adding things on you can take a flat piece of plastic that will cover those front posts and the gap between the radiator and the front bumper. You don't have to do that. It suits my taste to cover those posts. To each his own.
You ran into the same problems that almost everyone has had with building this kit, and yet you made it look good! I am amazed at the results you got with the Krylon paint, as I have never had any luck with that stuff. You made it look smooth and glossy!
Take a little more time with it. The picture on the box is an actual built kit, it appears. You've made a nice start, but from the picture a few more details on yours will make you happy with it. The lower body trim and the wheel details would be the first things I'd tackle. I have this kit. Haven't built it yet, because I'm planning on using it for my first use of a new air brush. If I goof up the painting while learning to use the air brush, it won't be a waste of a more expensive kit.
Thank you for your comment, I had reached the point on kit being so bad that I just said to myself this is enough and it went in the trash. I just didn’t want it because all the parts fit so poorly.
Yes that particular kit is very simplistic with it's building. A better kit is the Revell 1967 GTO, much better with detailed parts. This kit is more of a slump buster build. I very much enjoyed the sincerity of Your video with the explanation of your build plans, or rather, how You planned to build the kit, and the back story. Thank You for sharing with Us here on the tube. Looking forward to the next video! Later, Russ
Great video, so I’m currently working on this kit now and watched your vid for a few tips or things to look out for. By the quality of the plastic car mold and parts that you got, this is nice car. Put well together. I’m trimming the excess off now and I see few parts that don’t even fit correctly so I’m actually adding glue and then sanding to try to get that shape. I hope my car comes out nearly as good as yours. I’m going with a purple paint and khaki interior. Hope it works out for me
I think it came out looking great! As far as using Krylon paints, I will not give you flack, I also use Krylon. And, I dare say, I've even used rustoleom.
I busted this box open at 6:30 this morning cuz I couldn't sleep and decided it would be fun. Boy was I mistaken!. At 10 o'clock I thru it all back in the box and labeled it as a desperation build. I cant believe how crappy a kit this was. There was flash on the flash!! There are location pins but no location holes. As he showed, theres location holes for the interior tub, but no pins. The chrome loooksvlike its been triple dipped and half of the details are just flooded. Many parts don't fit even close. One day when I get tired watch paint dry on the Goodyear blimp I'll pull it out and try it again. Maybe. Maybe not. Probably... not. 😢
Sweet kit, have 1 not built yet, New Subscriber #242 and we hit the bell 👊 Turned out Sweet 😊 Cheers🍺🍻 KC Cradle Mountain Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🇳🇿🤝🇺🇸🇺🇸😎👍✌
For one thing I always paint the body last because you're going to be test fitting everything to make sure everything fits right. I don't know why everyone that I've seen so far paint the body I always paint the body last. You said the rear bumper didn't fit very well well maybe you need to sand off a little bit of the chassis rear end part. Look how small the engine looks in the engine compartment. It's an old MPC from 1967. I would have used the AMT 65 GTO it's a little bit bigger and it fills up the engine bay more. You have to have a plan of attack how you're going to build your model make sure everything fits properly. Also you didn't do any Chrome around the windshield frame or the drip rail. You can use Chrome foil that you can buy online or if your hobby shop has them. Or you can get a liquid chrome pain to paint around your windshield frame and the rear windshield frame and the drip rails just take your time. When you paint your body make sure you have a primer on the oh yeah also lightly sand your body and Hood so that the paint a here's to the plastic better
I am the guy in the video, this is my wife's channel, and you are right I could have added more detail to the body but by the time I got to that point I said what is the use and I decided to just stop there. I did test fit the bumper and grill and I talk about that in the video, but the rear bumper was too narrow, and the grill just wasn't going to work well no matter what, but I think I did make the bumper and grill fit ok. I am retired and just doing this for a hobby and by no means am I a professional. This video was just for sharing and by no means is it for showing how it is supposed to be done. Thank you for the comment.
I read in a model magazine that you have to be careful using an ordinary fan with your paint booth because a spark from the motor can ignite the fumes.
I have been bogged down with builds that I am adding ridiculous details too and Im getting tired of the hobby. So,with that being said, I pulled this kit from my stash and promised myself that I am gonna build this kit, with ONLY spark plug wires and coil. No extras. I need to get out of this funk I'm in and get a kit done.
Good job on the build, this is one that definitely needs some extra love and work to make things come together!

Make a flat piece of plastic.
I have this one, but molded in blue. I can't wait to see what you do with this one!

Nice work 👍
I have the exact same one too and had nothing but problems with it too but good job looks good
I built the 67 as well this year, about the same result as you. Thank you for posting..
Great 😊 thank you for watching

Nice Work!
Thank you for watching!
Just found your channel, dropped you a sub.....
Thank you 😊, nice to have you
Revell makes a 1966 GTO that is more detailed and is better made.
I read in a model magazine that you have to be careful using an ordinary fan with your paint booth because a spark from the motor can ignite the fumes.
Not the greatest kit… turned out nice… build on 👍 got you subbed
They all over price and very poor made. Plusa ll the material. You are looking up to $100 per model. I was done.
