  • Some high-percentage Knee on Belly attacks and setups. There are so many options from this versatile, transitional position, and these are some of my favorites I find to be useful against a variety of common energies.

    I’m a 150 lb purple belt. I use knee on belly all the time. It’s my favorite way to control big guys especially. I usually setup a darce or an arm bar. Thanks for all the great ideas and reminders of submissions I’ve forgotten to use.

    Your videos, especially the ones like this with various submissions from the more common positions, have vastly jump-started my game. As an early white belt I notice so many holes in my game where I just blank from not knowing what to do but just watching these videos slowly, pausing after each demonstration and practicing with a partner, has really given me some structure and a game plan for when I roll. Then testing things out in the gym, getting some fine tuning from my coach and other upper belts helps me iron out my mistakes. And now I have my first stripe! Your videos are super helpful, thanks for the knowledge!

    I just wanted to let you know that your videos played a part in me taking first place in the SouthWest NAGA tournament held in Phoenix a few months ago. I competed in the white belt adult 168lb weight division and took gold...I also competed in the open weight division and took 2nd and I had to defeat some absolutely massive opponents!! After that tournament I was given my blue belt, thanks for your dedication to these videos. However the main point of this post is directed at one of the moves you showed on this video of which I have been trying to pull off when rolling for the past few months. The move where you go for a kimura and then transition into the leg scissors across the neck choke. I have been trying for months during Gi BJJ and never got it to work, tonight I decided to try it during no Gi and I got it to work 2 times on separate opponents!! They never saw it coming and were like WTF was that? Thanks again, your vids are super teaching tools!!!

      Thank you very much! And yes, something like that is very possible. In fact, I’m working on putting together a more comprehensive learning portal where I break down more basics. It would be more helpful of a training companion for people needing an online resource of that nature instead of these RUclips videos where I rush through several techniques.

    3:53 - Question: on the spinning far side armbar, is it possible for the training partner to roll out of that if the top person lets go of the pant material around the outside knee too soon? I also might be missing some details in your application, like knees connecting tightly and such, so that it may not matter.
    Thanks in advance.

    • @KnightJiuJitsu
      @KnightJiuJitsu  5 лет назад +4

      It’s definitely possible. That’s why I think grabbing the pant leg is such an important detail.

      My kids learned pass guard to knee on belly last week. And this week opposite side armbar was added. They were surprised when I tapped. They asked if it hurt and I told them no
      Matter the size of your opponent. You can hurt them with good technique. B to always go easy on joint locks. They could really
      Hurt someone. But they were happy they made dad hurt.

    I'm a white belt and I had experience today the knee on belly my opponent was a brown belt but what bothered me about him was he wasn't going for anything just riding it and he wasn't going for a mount or submission he was driving his knee into my belly which is okay,but God damn it's annoying as hell it's one of the most frustrating things I dealt with in Jiu-Jitsu besides collar chokes I was expecting him to take full mount or arm bar or something but no he just sits there riding it I'm just bitching because it sucked ass that pressure sucks yeah you get used to it but a knee on belly is the worst just my opinion white belts are people too lol
