The battle against aldrich and foremost pontiff makes me realise how easly this Desaster could have been avoided if the nameless King just stayed with his family
I feel so good seeing how much damage Aldrich did against Nameless, Aldrich was THE hardest in the game for me, even harder the NK himself. I feel justified in my anger.

@@jordanmahony4268 yes but in fact this is pretty acurate to the Lore, Aldritch isn't Weak ans Nameless is extremely strong but not invincible, the Two of them can battle on the same category. PS : sorry for the possible mistakes, i'm only learning english
It makes sense that Aldrich almost won that as the nameless king is Gwynn son but he stilled pulled it off, now if only he could have rescued our sun queen, his sister, Gwynnovere, the best chest of dark souls 1.
@@dreaminal188 Lore-wise, Aldrich would wreck the Nameless King. It is because of his ability to dream. He conjured NITO'S Gravelord greatsword and he can conjure the lifehunt scythe of priscilla, a weapon that THE GOD'S FEARED to the point that they locked her up in the painted world. What more if he had fully devoured gwyndolin? He would've been able to dream about every gods gwyndolin has ever seen, gods like gwynevere, the nameless king, and even gwyn himself.
Ocierus: “All my life, I’ve devoted myself to becoming a dragon, and spawning a dragon to rule all others!” Nameless King: “You know what happened to the dragons, right?”
Even ignoring his higher stats, his biggest advantage is that he's so agile and aggressive. He's one of the most agile bosses in the game and you can see it even in this video where it almost seems like he *knows* how to avoid certain attacks by enemies. And his wide-sweeping attacks make him good for clearing out groups of enemies, too.
I understand the reaction, but my counterpoint for it is this. If Yhorm could be fought with regular weapons, the Nameless King would destroy him. Mechanically, Yhorm doesn’t have much health, he’s just incredibly resistant to all types of damage. I still would have liked to see it, but I don’t think it would have been a fair test.
I love the end of the Soul of Cinder fight, because the Soul lightning stakes him and the Nameless King is just like: "That's not a lightning stake, THIS is a lightning stake!"
And it's even more impressive when you think about the fact that he is beating every one of them in their own arena, despite him being one of the bosses that have an advantage in their arena
@@Daniel-fi7jp His dragon riding phase, which would already be enough to kill a good amount of them, and also the fact that his arena is both flat, which means there's nothing that can get in the way of his two wave attacks or the times when he quickly gets behind you, and opened to the sky, so he has no problem with his lightning attack.

In honor of the father who expunged him, The Nameless King put his brother out of his misery.”
@@Nazvern That's not the point. The Soul of Cinder carries the soul of every Lord of Cinder including Gwen. Gwen is the SOC's final form so of course you could say his father is the SOC since his soul is used as it's main source of power.
So is nobody going to point out how the story feels a little more meaningful with NK? Because Sulyvahn and Aldritch are responsible for the death of Gwyndolyn, and then the SoC uses NK's father's power to try to beat him.
Thought it was insane how close Aldrich got to beating him, and more disturbing was the location yeah, fighting a monster who consumed and used his little brothers body like a puppet
I was sittin here looking for a comment like this. Especially soul of cinder, kinda like father vs son in a way. NK becomes the chosen undead and has to face SoC and when comes to he realizes his fathers soul through the fire. Then has to defeat him and decide to link the flame or let it fade.. 🤯
While not entirely lore accurate, this is a reminder of just how powerful gwyn and the gods were before the events of dark souls took place. Gwyn's firstborn here was his son, not even as great as gwyn WAS, and even after having survived for so damn long is still way more powerful than any of the other bosses we face (and way more powerful than most players, too). Not only does this do justice to show how mighty the gods were previously, but it also goes to show just how much of a scorched, weakened husk gwyn really was by the time we fought him in DS1 at the kiln. He'd burned so much of his power away that he was chump change compared to the player, and by extension, the nameless king.
@@D_.-00 Well not going to go too much into the lore because plenty of peoples have already made very good videos on it already, but Gwyn was one of the first 4 Lords of Fire that fought a war with the eternal dragons and won, thus bringing on the "age of fire" and making the world not gray anymore, building civilization, etc. Gwyn was, actually, out of the 4 lords, called "The Great Lord," aka, the de facto leader of the 4 Lords. This video is important because Gwyn had 4 children, but one was systematically eliminated from records and monuments. This child was Gwyn's first child, and became what we now know as "The Nameless King." I made this comment to show like...how The Nameless King is Gwyn's child, and hasnt lost much of his original power, and so looking at just how strong his CHILD is, Gwyn must've been truely, massively deserving of his title as "The Great Lord," and all we see left of him as the final boss of Dark Souls 1 is a literal actual husk, having lost almost every bit his once astonishing power burning his soul to keep the first flame lit. Sorry if thats too long of an explanation, but that tends to be how dark souls lore is
That Dragonslayer Armour vs Nameless King fight was bloody epic! I thought Dragonslayer was gonna win for most of it, especially when he got his charged lightning slam off on him right after Nameless got his and it did much more damage. But Nameless fought hard and got the day. And leave it to Gwyn's son to give such a flashy show off ending, nailing him to the ground with a lightning stake as the final move. Much applause
As well as seeing his younger brother getting half eaten and manipulated around like a puppet by some disgusting looking slug made up of flesh and bones. He would’ve been pissed.
@@wowitsfrostygames155 It's pretty clear that Gwyn disowned him after he took up an allegiance with the dragons. I'm pretty sure vaati or some other lore master has talked about it. Gwyn hated dragons, after fighting the war against them, but somehow (I personally can't remember why), the Nameless King ends up on Archdragon Peak, where he resides with the dragon cult and many full and half-dragons. I'm pretty sure it's also implied that Ornstein went searching for him after a long time of waiting in Anor Londo, only to give up his armor and join his old comrade in the path of the dragon.
@@postgibson4160 right i know all that, but we dont know the nameless kings own feelings on the situation. if he hated his father and everyone who sided with him with no remorse i see no reason for him to care about his families death. i doubt its that extreme but we just dont know. we also dont know under what circumstance he decided to join the dragons. maybe he realized their crusade against them was unjust or... something its hard to say what. obviously we have like a slideshow of the story, but theres key slides missing.
Basically NK's revenge story. He released his niece from her torment, and avenged her by slaying her tormentor Pontiff. He avenged his younger brother by killing the one who had consumed him, Aldritch. He put an end to the madness that Seath started by killing Oceiros. He finally got to put his old man in place and settle their dispute, once and for all.
@@Charles-A also got to remember DS Armour has by far the highest lightning resist and some of the best armor stats to go with it. I'm actually surprised NK won it

I like that he immediately squared up to Pontiff and the other bosses he hesitates for a second.
Wait who is gwyn?
@@D_.-00 ....You played dark souls, right?
@@Salamandra40k not dark souls 1

@@wowitsfrostygames155 It's pretty clear that Gwyn disowned him after he took up an allegiance with the dragons. I'm pretty sure vaati or some other lore master has talked about it.
