Julie, my Babylock Destiny2 can add a cut line indication in the machine. Then in the case of say, the Christmas tree, if there is a color stop, you can indicate that as a cutting line. Save the file and then go to the scan n cut to cut the appliqué fabric to size. I think you did do a video about this technique as well??😁 But I have not investigated all the options of just opening a plain pes file in my DX225, so loved the overview.
Oh, I can't wait to try this and cut all of my appliqué fabrics for embroidery. If this works, wow what a time saver it will be! Do you know if it cuts exactly or does it add a bit so that the appliqué gets caught in the stitching?
For the ones you can't cut you could use the pen tool, then scan to save or scan to cut data, then cut it out. How hard is it to edit this in the CanvasWorkspace software to make it into something we want to use aside from the original design?
I have a SNC SDX85 and I can't, for the life of me, figure this out. I don't think all the machines recognize PES files. It would be nice to get an answer as to which models of machines this works with.
The Brother ScanNCut SDX85 is not able to read PES applique files. You are able to check if your machine reads this file format in the settings by using the link below: help.brother-usa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/161902
