    I’m late to the party, but I’ve been an Opeth fan for 15 years. I learned this song on piano and played it as my senior solo in hs. So glad you liked it!!

    It's always great when I see someone understand just how soulful Mikael's solos are.
    I love how even when the song slaps you in the face with a sudden change, almost immediately you feel how this new sound fits in to the overall context of the piece.
    The use of dissonant intervals, downward movement, and slow deliberate drums definitely gives that riff a really heavy feel.

      Heavy, draggy aka laid back kind of feel

    Glad to see you enjoy Opeth brother. You can check out some of their newer stuff which is more prog rock, I recommend Moon Above, Sun Below.

      How different are they from their old style?

    • @ivandraginov134
      @ivandraginov134 2 года назад

      @@PJAlphaMusic Way different, I'd say. They have added more prog elements and removed the harsh vocals all together.

      So weird how so many people go to auto evil/despair on that outro. Been a fan for years. Never got that. Makes me feel empowered personally but to each their own.

      @@ameliaward7429it's depressing for me.. 🙂 so damn sad , like you fought all this long just to gain so very little, now you keep walking as you have no other choice, that's all you have known..

    🔥🔥❤Opeth❤🔥🔥
    I don't understand chords or those things, so I wouldn't know what to suggest as far as that goes. I do know Opeth is music to the ears though, so:
    Hessian Peel
    Harvest
    Coil/Heir Apparent
    Benighted
    and the list goes on...😁

      Chords are important to musicians and people who know about it. I hear beautiful unusual things happening in Opeth's music. Thumbs up to your suggestions 👍😀
