Thank you very much for watching.
Åkerfelt is a master of melody. Truly.
Thanks for this comment man .. should be written on everest mountain with capital leters.
This is one of my favorites by Opeth. So so good.
One of the best for sure!
Very good song.
The drumming is amazing.
Steven Wilson is all over this track. You can hear him in the harmonies during the bridge.
I love Axe, their new drummer-but Lopez is just...when I taught myself how to play the entirety of Ghost Reveries on drums, I transformed not just as a drummer but a multi-instrumentalist. He got into my soul ‘n never left
yes, Lopez is just flawless on the album and this song particular. idk, maybe I just love ghost notes so much, he is doing it great..
P.S Axe is not "new" really, he is part of the band for more than a decade now.
The outro is amazing. One of my favourites.
This is a masterpiece
This album was written as it was recorded. They were booked yet had no material and had to write parts as they went along!
PS plz do the title track from this album. They always close concerts with it. It even has some Meshuggah influence to the outro
Reprehensible Meshuggah most of this was simply not true.
Thanks, I will do that song soon.
Bohemen I got all of that info from Mikael himself:

You’re welcome
Thank you so much for finally listening to it Joe! My last request from you would be Dream Theater - As I am
I'll do that soon. Thanks for watching!
There is a recording of this song from Moshcam, when they play it live in Sidney. It's such a great live band. And how they do the ending part...
Always loved this one
Alto tema !!!
I don't know why but I always thought the ending of this song sounds similar to I want you (she's so heavy) from the beatles
Opeth-Wreath
I will soon
A lot of people don't care for Wreath but I personally love that track, its definitely a tone setter for a very dark & bleak sounding album.
That song is so good live! They opened with it when I saw them in ‘11
Easily the best Opeth song in my opinion
Very good song.
there is waaay to much good material for me to pick a favorite album , much less a favorite song....lol same for A7x, Epica, Trivium , etc
burden also, but i agree
You need to start watching some live performances of these songs .
Yes I should.
@@sonicallydisruptive Get yourself a copy of The Roundhouse Tapes DVD! and if you get the chance see them live. I've seen them on the last 6 tours (at a venue 10 mins walk from my home...very handy :) ) and they blow me away every time.
Maybe one of the most epic Opeth solos? even if they have alot of them
cant waitt
That riff tho.
In mist she was standing has one of the most epic outros in their catalogue. Why does no other fan back me on this? If enough people did then maybe he'd do it instead of ignoring my request
I'm with you , he didn't react to their first album and In the mist she was standing is one of my favorites songs from Opeth
I'm not ignoring your requests. Don't know if you saw it, but I tried Black Rose Immortal and didn't like the production. I may do Mist, but so far I like the newer stuff more. Many Opeth songs I've done and many more I will still be doing.
great song
@@sonicallydisruptive first off the production on the first album is totally fine and even if it wasn't, you want to miss out on some great compositions b'cause of bad production that's your loss. Btw To Bid you Farewell was from the same album as black rose immortal. So maybe you're just not being open minded cause you didn't like one song.
Does In the Mist She was Standing have a part where the bass plays by itself and is awesome, or am I thinking of Under a Weeping Moon.
Joe check out, the human abstract- horizon to zenith. Kind of a between the buried and me type.
Sound good to me, thanks!
If you haven’t seen Opeth live, it’s as if you have no perception of what true musicianship is...simply attend one of their gigs and you’ll never listen to any other band live...OPETHOMANIA is the best incurable disease.
another comment for the youtube algorithm (:
would love to see you check out Epica , possibly something off their debut album, maybe the title track...."the phantom agony" studio version please (:
I have heard a few of there songs, but not much. Thanks, I'll check them out.
Opeth, just a swedish pink floyd band
Never felt like that ending fit right on this song. One of my only musical complaints with this band. Still love this song so much tho
I have to agree with you on that, and I am a huge Opeth fan. That is one of the reasons I never cared that much about this song. Also the song feels a bit "hitty" and the outro is, once again, unnecessary. Still a decent song though, but really bad when it comes to Opeth.
The outro is perfect. It's one of their best, just cause it's not syncopated rythms like deliverance doesn't make it bad. Y'all nuts
It’s not the change of pace I question it’s the abrupt end to the mood they set throughout the song. Honestly I think if they went straight from the last word into masters apprentice it would’ve been gold. But it’s not bad by any means just being picky
@@joshwietzke3845 The solo and the riffs encompassing it warrant the outro imo. But opinions yeah. Top 3 for me with Bleak and Harlequin Forest this is.
The outro fits 100% especially when you hear this song along with deliverance as a combo.
