Yeah the entire Deliverance album is pushed by the drumming of Lopez🔥 Altho you could say that for his entire career with Opeth to an extent. He’s so good
Lopez had the best chemistry with them of any drummer they had, IMO
@@slay8217 nah dude axe was top notch. Plus we still haven't seen what this new drummer can do with Opeth 🤘🤘
@@colinclark1981 Lopez was better with Opeth on clean and heavy stuffs. I never liked Axe drumming except on Watershed
@@nassium66 not even pale communion? That record had god tier drumming
It's not like it's very easy to impress me or something, I heard all sorts of metal but 15 years later I still think that the section from 6:09, especially 6:15-6:19 just hits different. It's just great, it's not super technical, but it hits every fucking damn time. Actually the whole track is amongst Opeth's best for sure, mainly thanks to Lopez.
🔥🔥❤Opeth❤🔥🔥
Weak in the knees. ✔
Heart melting. ✔
Opeth is the Goat. ✔
Their music just takes your breath away.
Meh, I’ve heard better 😉
hello darkness my old friend 😋
@@bryanmack5410 😂
👋
@@scottspears9347 You got that right!
👋
That was a fair judgment of Opeth. Also a fair judgment to A Fair Judgment. Also a fair reaction to A Fair Judgment. Sorry if I'm judging this unfairly, or fairly. I like.
8:36 is some of the hardest shit that has ever be laid down.
Martin Lopez is a legend! His work in ghost reveries, deliverance damnation and black water park albums is just sheer brilliance! I don't think anything can replace his work.
Actually the harmonized vocals are michael and steven wilson together, amazing
One of my favourite clean vocal parts. That bit where Steven comes in ("Lost track of time...") is just so beautifully mixed and harmonised.
@@Brotacon absolutely
Agreed. ❤
That ending riff is menacing and evil. Thats why its so good.
It's almost cartoonishly evil :D absolutely delicious
Only if your intent is bent that way. It also works for love and compassion.
This is one of those Opeth tracks where they deliberately induce an undercurrent of discomfort by keeping you guessing. You never quite know when the transitions are coming, or what they will transition to. The drum patterns have an unpredictable punctuation. And even the doom-laden outro riff doesn't resolve in a way the listener might expect. More evidence as if it were needed that there is something different about Opeth.
The more you listen to the song, the more you notice the irregularities in the drums. It almost feels like Lopez is playing it wrong, creating that edgy, unsettling feeling.
This is my first hear, but not my last. I love unpredictability and balance, at the same time.
Opeth - Porcelain Heart anyone?
Great Reaction! The ending is one of my favorite parts🤘😃
Thanks man! That ending sealed it for us on this one. Hope all is good with you and the fam 🤘
I worked at a medical factory that you could listen to music at your station when I heard this album. It was as loud as I could get it and I couldn’t hear myself saying “HOLY SHIT- THIS IS AWESOME” but everyone else did. Blown away. My first Opeth experience.
Just some trivia: In the album's "making of" documentary, when Mikael is demonstrating the "Leave it be, it was meant for me" (5:00) part to Steven Wilson, he says he stole the riff from Leonard Cohen's song Famous Blue Raincoat :)
The end where it gets all doomy sounds like something like what Candlemass or what Sabbath would do
A drop so heavy, that when it hits, the floor gives in, and the drop just keeps going. \m/
Drums are in the pocket. I've said many times this album is Martin Lopez's best, I refer to the album as a drumming tutorial
Martin Lopez is the man! 🔥
Those syncopated fills are crazy
Let's boost this Chanel to 50k
Been a long time coming.
Thanks Steven!
The outro to this song is THE outro to an Opeth song. Good on y'all recognizing that. Game recognizes.
I was actually thinking the title was referring to the guitar solo, that's actually my favorite part
But your reactions, as always, bring me such a pure feeling
Steven Wilson sang the harmony parts in the song, one of my favorite opeth songs.
YAY so glad you chose this one. I’m 23, got into opeth at 15. This song (and album) will hit for life :)
If anyone in lower mainland BC (Surrey/Van) wants to be Opeth-friends let me know!
I haven't lived Before Christ, I live in Anno Domini allegria Mikaela
Do the song Black Rose Immortal
Someday Black rose immortal will be reacted to…. Someday 😢
The ending riff is pure doom metal. They have a live recording from Sydney where they slow down the riff at every bar in place of the album's fade-out ending.
Yup, the only time I personally saw them play this was on the Heritage tour and the ending was so damn epic live. Highlight of the show for me.
They also slow it down at the live recording from Shepherd's Bush
One of my favorite guitar solos and endings ever...so good! And so moody😭
you might give it a go to "For absent friends" beautiful short instrumental interlude...
You have to listen to the live version from the Lamentations concert. The ending is even better. 🤘
Gorgeous guitar solo , one of the best of their career and discography
Martin Lopez is really good and creative!
Check out any live version, the outro is even more amazing.
When the album dropped and I saw them live for that tour, the outro was so slow lead by the drums was insane!! Like 5 seconds gap between the snare and kick for minutes....so crazy but intense! Even slower than the Roundhouse tapes video version. I wish I filmed it...
The oh shit right before the outro drops 😂
I’m happy these guys still make you feel like that, even after a few years of your deep-dive ❤
You guys are on a helluva run lately, keep em coming!! I'm here for it all!!!
Great reaction as always guys! I think Steven Wilson played all the piano parts in this album, along with the mixing and engineering stuff 👌
Once again produced by Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree :D Coming full circle on your channel once again! :D
In My time of need
8:40 mi reacción cada que escucho la gloriosa música de Opeth
Well said 👏🏻
Perfect song from start to finish
I want this song as one of the songs played at my funeral, along with a few of my bands songs I did. This song has all of the stages of grief in it especially at the outro, it goes from sorrow to elation to anger to acceptance etc! So perfect.....
Love this reaction. Keep listen to 0peth guys
Bringing the heat this winter!
Can you return to Mastodon, or try Rivers of Nihil for the first time? Silent Life is probably perfect to start
Love you Both! we need a reaction for windowpane!!!!
fantastic reaction!!
opeth is God tier !!
Great Reaction, more Opeth reaction Please
7:30 and 8:36 🥰
“Loathe- is it really you?”
I play this track as loud as I can, AND I WANT MORE!!
So did we 👍
Finally.
What a fkn banger of a song!!! Damn, they are so fucking good.
Great reaction guys, I love that one! The only thing that could follow that is some Mastodon! Did you guys hear Teardrinker? Thank you for the quality entertainment!
Katatonia has a new album out... Minds will blow up...just pick any song. Its that good.
I haven't listened to them in a long time. They opened for opeth in Santa Cruz when I saw them live. I always felt their songs all kinda sounded like the same song.. idk they still are great tho
such a great song
Yeah, that outro riff! Sounds to me like Satan's entrance theme.
Pretty much my fav opeth track
Awesome ♥️♥️
Evil outro. Top 6 Opeth outros
For Next reacts: "Famine"; "Eternal Rain Will Come" "The Lotus Eater"
YES!!
the night and the silent water!!!
I love your reactions :)
This album produced by Steven Wilson. About Opeth I like his old albums are better than new albums after watershed.
Favorite song by my favorite band
The breakdowns on this one
Finally😊
A nice song for sure, think we should all agree that listening to Opeth can be mentally demanding at first times, but that just shows us how great that band is. Also even if you listen to a single song the 50th time you find something interesting, something new... F*ck this band is the best!!!
You should check Under The Weeping Moon, but the live version, it's a bit less blackened in sound.
Every time i go back, i know, those works of Opeth can never be touched by anything
This band.... ❤️
React to Entombment of a machine - Job for a Cowboy 🤘❤
Waiting anxiety.. a fair judgment deserved
You guys are wonderful ❤
I'm glad you like the song 😊
Happy Easter 🐣
Never talk or pause on a Solo guys
Have you listened to anything from Damnation yet ? Just do the whole album.
Yes I'm am The Nathaniel, but I changed my name to match my channel tag
beneath the mire reaction please
Many people seem to think Lopez was the best opeth drummer. I strongly disagree, but i do think he is an AMAZING drummer that truly fitted opeth. Axe fitted opeth even more. He was far more tight when playing live and as creative in the studio (if you disagree on this, seriously go back and listen to all the newpeth albums). Axe did not have the latin inspiration many miss, but still as good drumming without that exact inspiration.
Martin Lopez's best work. I refere to this album as a Drimming tutorial.
Time to veg!
Reaction Opeth = The Mob song plis
She cannot fully relax listening to Opeth.
New Metallica????
Opeth is not a metal band, Opeth is a metal genre
