So you'd say the bose is the best sounding? I know the soundlink isnt waterproof like the Mars, which is whats awesome bc im pretty sure its a perfect beach & outdoors device
I think they pretty much sound the same. The Bose is a little 'woolly' sounding in comparison. Tbh I think the Mars is let down by the current eq presets rather than the physical speaker. If crazybaby change their app so you're able to to adjust the eq to your liking then I think the Mars would sound great.
How would you rate the mars system against the sonos play 1? I had a bose soundtouch bluetooth speaker but it sounded awful, so I took it back in exchange for the play 1. It sounds amazing for its size but it doesnt support bluetooth. Im still in the market for a decent sounding bluetooth speaker that I can pack into a bag and take with me.
Hi there. Can't compare to the Sonos speakers as I don't have any. But one thing I can says is this. Since the past 4-5 months I have a B&O Beolit 15 bluetooth speaker. This COMPLETELY blows away the Mars (which I sold quite a while ago). So after now owning the B&O speaker my rating for the Mars speakers still stay at 10 for design and novelty factor but now drops down to about 0.5 out of 10 for sound quality. They're pretty bad once you experience how a bluetooth speaker should sound. Pity really as the Mars look pretty good.
Also maybe you should give the B&O A2 or A1 a try if you want a portable speaker. Yes their stuff is expensive, but once you hear the quality you will do whatever you need to do to buy their stuff. I take my hat off to the B&O sound engineers. Simply magnificent! Their sound not only defies their size but defies physics IMHO!!
Thanks :) I'll pop in to the b&o shop in town and see if I can get a demo. Id be more than happy to pay if they can just match the play 1. If you ever get the chance to listen to a sonos system it would be interesting to hear your opinion. Just dont buy one to use as a portable speaker, they are small but they are heavy and they need mains power and wifi to work.
Marc McCabe DON'T go to the B&O shop!! Your wallet will regret it!! Only kidding! Enjoy. They also have an update to mine (Beolit 17) which goes down to 35hz!!! Amazing :-)
Soundwise I wouldn't recommend any of them. If you're heavily into sound quality you won't like any of them. However, If I had to pick one for its sound it would probably be the Bose. But for overall design, quality of materials and innovation, the Mars blows everything else out of the water. It's simply, hands down, a stunning product.
I got the sb400 it is the best soundbar in its price range and I rate it highly especially for its bass plus you need to set it up properly, which you probably haven't
Hi Nathan. I was only comparing between the Bose and Mars when I gave my recommendation on which Bluetooth (portable) Speaker to get. But yes I agree. If I was to include the SB400 then it destroys both the Mars & Bose hands down.
Mars wins in my book. I do love Bose. But two Mars systems, nice!
Have you been using the Crazybaby App for Your Smarphone?
Hi there. Sorry for the late reply. Yes I was using the app on my android phone and iPad. Not using it any longer as I've sold both speakers!
