Dude was genuine as u could get
@@larryhaase7132 Yup, i have t-shirts and hoodie's of him and pretty much nobody recognizes the SRV logo.
These two Maestros rehearsing beats the crap out of 98% of todays junk.
Only 98%?
..er... Prodigies!! lol
98% because the 8 tone deaf thumbs fown
Don’t forget who’s on bass, the king of the bass world Mr Victor Wooten
You can't be talking about Billie Eilish though - what an amazing talent she is... or so we are constantly being told by industry people. It's now 6 years after your comment and shit sells now more than ever.
Srvs cape is frickin bad ass ha
STEVIE WAS BADASS!!

I've always wanted to be famous enough that I could wear a cape
We're all famous - wear it well
Wear your cape buddy, an don’t let anyone tell you different
Famous as Dracula?
I Don't Think It's About Fame....With Stevie Ray - It Just Fits HIS Style - Like His TAIL! SO SRV!❤🎸❤
Great footage!
Seeing these legends so happy and the mutual respect!!!
Extraordinary!
This video is a jewel!!! Greetings from Uruguay!!!
SRV so precise and fast in this -- not easy playing with Stevie Wonder's jaw-dropping synthesizer and musical timing and BrownMark's bass. They're all simply phenomenal... They have so much music in their very souls that it just pours out. I can't believe how many people are milling around to fix the tech just right. And it's the artists who make it work -- they have supernatural hearing.
MTV
SRV is always fast and precise. After all, he is the G.O.A.T. 🐐
One of (the many) great things about SRV is that he was just a huge fan who got to play along with many of his hero’s and it never changed him for the worse. He was always humble and still learning from the greats at every opportunity 💛
Thx for this video! 2 legends just jammin'!
3:34...?
Never heard Stevie Ray do a slide similiar to this and that sound is out of nowhere!
Not even finished watching this but had to timestamp that! More please! Thx Stevie's! 🤯😂🤗🥳
He was a great slide player
BB King does it often
I worked on the recording I still have the Sweat Shirt in my closet. I love you Stevie and Stevie. Jimmy "Rock N Roll" Sandweiss

Phenomenal..Stevie Ray Vaughan and Stevie Wonder are music legends..the BEST...
@@aloisemason3972+!!+ ())😅
What a thrill for a huge SRV fan find this gem tonite! Unique pairing of souls who "talk" music that tickles the ears and heart.
Cool...I almost forgot Stevie W. sat in with my band once in Nashville. Blew the roof off.
it took this vid to trigger you? lol. He must have.
Talk about Pure Musical Joy (PMJ). There's a lot of "dross" and downtime in this video with stage hands helping the musicians get their instruments prepared for recording, I think. But, wow!, when you see the two Stevies trading licks it's all worth it. I actually love the rawness of this piece. Thank you for no edits! Watching stuff like this just reminds me what a loss we suffered when SRV taken from us. God has His timing and ways, but I sure wish Stevie Ray Vaughn was still with us.
I couldn't agree more. This raw footage is stellar. I love how SRV occasionally looks over to SW with the biggest smile on his face. You can surely tell that SRV is having a blast jamming with one of his favorite artists and I love that. I sure do miss him too and I wish he were still with us.
No doubt. I agree. I was born in 1991 unfortunately and missed him being here with us but there isn’t anything I haven’t seen or read with SRV. He crosses my mind at least once a day can’t go a few hours without putting on Lenny or him jamming with Albert king. He’s why I learned to half ass play guitar. One of a kind there will never and I mean ever be another Stevie. If he’s impacted my life this much without being on earth I could only imagine going to a live show. I would cut off one of my hands no questions asked to go back in time and revel in the greatness
This is for MTV
It's "A STEVIE Thing"! So Much FUN!! So....I Guess Recording Stevie Wonders' Music Was NOT "Sacreligeous" Like You Were Told, SRV...You Were Right! And He Sure Loved You! I Can't Believe You've Been Gone From Us For SO Long😢....But You Left Us With Such Incredible Music & Collaborations....You're Right Here After All - Till We All Meet Again❤🎸
Yeah me too.
Such a loss.my brother turned me on to Stevie years ago and I can't get enough of his playing. I practice him every day. Especially Texas Flood and Pride and joy, my two favorites. All his music is great 👍🏽. Taken way too soon from us.
SRV wearing a cape like the superhero he is!
Phantom of the Guitar Opera with blues superpowers always
I love Stevie Ray's wonderful, wacky, funky sense of style!
Truly a gem of video
Gave me goosebumps…their paying is sooooo alike….either one was playing guitar licks or the other keyboard….hard to differentiate other than tone…incredible…
Epic footage, choice vid cheers.
I never got to see SRV but I saw Stevie Wonder backed up by Legendary Aussie larrikin and singer songwriter Jon Farnham band in 1981.
The power of both artists voices was astonishing.
They performed a duo singing together.
But when Stevie Wonders roadies wheeled out a drum kit on a small platform on castor wheels,we thinking what's going on?
Then they walk out Stevie Wonder to the said drum kit and he blows 8000 people's minds with incredible drumming, man what show that was.
👍🍻🦘🇦🇺
9:45 "if they don't rock, they gotta roll" (says a random guy in the background)
Stevie and Stevie! Awesome!
This is the first time seein this...Awesome! Thanks again guys
The instrumental dialogue part was fantastic!

He Lives On In All Us Who LOVE Him!
Fantastic Thank You So Much For the Chance to see My Tx Oak Cliff & MI Lansing School for the Blind Brothers Together. RIHP SRV
1:11:30 !!! How did nobody catch that Beatles reference! So cooool
Definitely caught that too
Mr Wonder, ( different. Instruments) Was Jeff Healey, Before Healey, And SRV, Played With Them BOTH!! 😁👋🎶🎵🎶😎
The Respect..They're having A Good Ol' Time
43:25 They tried turning down SRV's guitar pfft
1:27:15 Apparently, Stevie found and purchased 'Number One' in 1973!
Christopher Cross had that guitar before Stevie and had traded it to Ray Hennig at Heart for Texas in Austin.
Even Dracula can't rock a cape like Stevie Ray Vaughan!
What can i say out of this world!!
Simply badass
6 people can't let their love come down.
Wow !!!!
Awesome! I remember seeing this decades ago.
What a cool surprise to see this!!! Talk about a good band!!
57:24 lenny:,)
Srv had the coolest outfits I don’t care what anyone says
Little bit of Wall of Denial at the very end!

@@scorpichella 🤣🫶

15:41 it's pure joy
Last 3 minutes.. Stevie Ray Wonder 😁
Even these pros PRACTISE !
Can you imagine ticket prices for this show now?
❤❤❤
A Texas vampire!
Phantom of the Guitar Opera. With Blues and Love Powers
Hahahahaha WTF! At 0:09 it looks like someone picks up Stevie instead of him standing on his own! Like those hands then reached down and picked him up by the waist like a baby! Thats so weird his expression is like “huhh, up we go” and I don’t know why i can stop cracking up at it! Hahahahaha 🤘👽
só lembrando q tem victor wooten no baixo tb...
The camera work during this time was absolutely terrible but the musicians were memorable.
bet the camera operator now regrets moving around like that...
Wow. What's happened to Jody Watley? I still miss Shalamar.
jodywatley.net/shalamar-jody-watley/
Who Is That Black-Caped Wizard??🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥
Phantom of the Guitar Opera. With special Blues and Love powers.
Great photos of Jody Watley in her Shalamar days from her personal collection : jodywatley.net/shalamar-jody-watley/
15:55
i also got an ad that lined up with the countdown at 21:13
1:17:46
One thang ain't rollin and that's a clear video of this gig..Stevie Wonder is a great singer and instumentalist... Stevie Ray Vaughan is a strat stringer and singer which makes these two legends what they are..where's the Black Cat Stevie Wonder? My mother said a Black Cat is causing superstitions of allusiations..r you with me?
At 3:35 howwww
SRV and stevie so tight on that
Stevie Ray doesn't like ANYBODY playing his guitar 🎸
Stevie wonder played stevie ray's guitar, but still don't sound like SRV, or atleast have that famous "tone", but when the guitar is back to stevie ray's hand, it's the tone we all know about, tone is 97% in the hand the rest is proper amp and guitar.
That victor Wooten on the 4string bass??
@The spirit Of 76, it’s Brown Mark from The Revolution (as in Prince and the...).
Who is the bassist? Awesome.
.
1:05:56
.
Is that Victor Wooten on bass?👍
Mark Brown, aka BrownMark formerly of Prince and the Revolution...
@@TheElectricVibe thanks. Victor is a major badass as well👍
Was that Steven Segal ?
is Vicor Wooten on a bass?
Yes, he sure is!!
Eric Dufour I believe it’s BrownMark from Prince & the Revolution
I may be wrong but that looks like a young victor, always playing a 4 string. Brownmark played a 5 if I’m not mistaken
Absolutely Victor W. And pretty sure that’s his bro Techno-man with the tambourine
100% Brownmark, 'cause Victor isn't as tall and there are enough close ups to prove that. Also, this entire MTV special was to promote Stevie's Characters Album (1988) which as usual was released through Motown. Brownmark too was one of Motown's new artists with his latest album being Good Feeling (1989) So, it's high possibility that was the main reason for him being on that stage with Stevie. Also, who wouldn't want one of the most funkiest bassplayers to back them up. Trust me everyone should checkout Brownmark's RUclips channel. He is spilling some nasty funk for his fans on bass these days.
The end just proves that in the wrong (right?) hands, even Stevie's rig sounds like shit lol
Wonders talent is unquestionable but, that cheezy synth sounds HORRIBLE and doesn't go with Vaughns beautiful, timeless tone at all!
Srvs cape is frickin bad ass ha
But it was too frickin hot to keep on.
the best thing i've ever seen on youtube. Thanks!
