Man why aren't people talking about THIS! Godwin is always the truth, the most beautifully honest alto player I know of this generation. A living legend we need to celebrate forever...
Nice connection. I think his tone is slightly more rounded off than Militello’s, which has a bit more punch to me. Their consistency of tone through the different registers is definitely similar though.
I love this tune! Godwin’s playing is so inspired, always melodic and there’s so much intensity and momentum through his lines. So nice to hear the texture change drastically with the piano solo as well, kept me engaged the whole way!
Good tune and alto playing. I couldn’t do all that rocking back and forth..😐. Bird stood solid while his perfect fingers percussed the keys and notes flew out of his sax. Each to their own innit..

Yes 🙌
That Patrick Bartley guy seems pretty good too
The bassists that play with Emmet are otherworldly. Every musician is amazing, but I play bass and know how special these guys are.
I guess I am kind of off topic but do anyone know a good website to watch new tv shows online?
@Kylen Leonidas Flixportal :)
@Orlando Christopher Thank you, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I appreciate it !
@Kylen Leonidas no problem xD
Godwin Louis has one of the most unique alto tones on the scene today.
He sounds so much like Bobby Militello, but his phrasing and vocabulary is gorgeous in a way that is quite separate from Militello’s

Reminds me a bit of Ornette tone wise
his is amazing! That bass player is COLD BLOODED!

This kid has enough music in his soul for the whole damn world! Bravo, Emmet, bravo. xxx
I've just stumbled upon the channel, damn, I've been listening for nearly 2 hrs and it's 2am.. Can't stop listening. Amazing playing!
Do the neighbors ever complain? LOL the joy of making music together....thnx for reminding players and patrons how amazing that is! Blessings!!
The talent in this room is amazing!! All four gentlemen give it their all....and aren't WE lucky to get to listen in!!!
The synergy the rhythm section has is top notch

I love this over and over again!!!!
"Ah, but the horns, they blowin' that sound" :-) Magnificoooooo!!!
Rhythm section nice and locked in on this one. Keep that rhythm section right there.
Great Music a living factory for jazz musicians. All we need is more jazz clubs.
Supreme sound!
Great sounds coming from Harlem tonite to Sarasota Florida
I'd love to hear this group play "Black Nile". I can foresee some magic happening in that tune with these cats
so killin!
Oh my god.
SMOKIN'!!!
Wowwwwww !
Great performance! So based on Emmet's left foot, the tempo of this song is 197 bpm :-)
Nice tone on the Alto Sax!
Great performance. By the way, the end credit cited Bass as Russell Hall, it should be Yasushi Nakamura instead.
Who is the drummer? He sounds very nice.
Joe Saylor!
Godwin Louis is king of saund and frazes!

Someone's missing their coyboy hat 😬
Great playing. Always list players by name and when or where this recording took place. Thanks.

Nice version. I like it better than Cedar's recordings.
Godwin is the best
