I'm into old baseball magazines so this is a cool addition. But I just don't understand the massive price difference between newsstand and subscription prices. I collect comics so I know about the rarer "variant" aspect, but the price difference is sometimes astronomical.
Subscriptions were a huge chunk of their monthly sales. I imagine there's probably 10 or more sub versions( with mailing label) to 1 newsstand. Often they had slightly different covers as well
@@richardbianco9674 Yeah, I get that. But even if there were 20 subscription copies for every new stand copy I still don't see where there's such a the huge difference in price.
This was a very nice change bro!!! I have probably around 20 or so older magazines! I have the holo cover Jordan too!!! Thanks so much for sharing! You're videos are great brother!! Peace
Interesting like the new format. Have many magazines scorecards and WS. Programs including the first SI in it's original envelope, and the 1926 WS program actually scored . Will never send them for grading as once encapsulated never able to read them again. Pleasure is thumbing through them.
AWESOME JOB AS ALWAYS!! THIS SHOWS " REAL" WORLD SALES. SELLERS PUT PRICES ON THEIR MAGAZINES BUT NEVER SELL THEM. YOU ALWAYS RECEIVE A * THUMBS" FROM ME. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. YOU WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO HIT A NEW SEGMENT OF COLLECTORS TO YOUR CHANNEL.
Anyone ever saw a hardback collector edition Dale Earnhardt SI sent from SI to me that when opened the magazine inside is backwards and upside down!!!! anyone else receive theirs like this yrs ago?
I think these do so well because a lot of these covers have big moments on them. Like that Miracle on ice one for example. I found one at a thrift store the other day of the OJ "murder" cover. Don't know if that one has much re-sell value but it's definitely an infamous one. I also have a couple of McGwire/Sosa home run chase
As a kid we got Si ,kids SI ,and baseball digest(1985-1996). Had at least a decades worth.. Gramma cleaned out the garage and well them and all my starting lineups got lost to time 😮💨😮💨
This is a great video. Don’t forget to mention that the reason these SIs are selling for such high amounts is that they are all “NEWSSTAND EDITIONS” meaning they never had a mailing label on them. That’s what makes them rare. But again. Great Job. 👍👍
Love this video. Please zero in on whether these magazines were newsstand editions which never had a mailing label. Those are the rare ones that really increase the value.
Amazing vid! I have a bunch of Tuff Stuffs & Becketts from the early 90s with Jordan, Shaq, Rice etc. Plus some 60s & 70s Newsweek & Time Mags and one with Namath on the cover that all just made my "get graded" list 🙂
Can't wait for episode #2 and maybe in that episode you can include in the bonus section magazines that have cards in them you can cut out and then maybe go into some of the top prices for magazine cut cards if that's a thing which I'm not sure is but either way would be cool thanks.
Enjoyed the new content on these sports magazines. I have literally hundreds of old and newer SI mags that I have kept in magazine sleeves to keep them protected. Appreciate all of your input into all sports memorabilia. Keep bringing us such great content and information about the hobby.👍👍🙏
Loved this new content! I have a collection starting with the first publication of Beckett Football and Basketball. No idea magazines had this value... I'm hooked!
As ost wish I kept all those old sporting mags I once had. In an edition of “Sport” magazine from 77 or 78 they had a cover story of Gretzky in his Indianapolis Racers (WHA) uniform (he was 17 years old). I wonder what that is worth??
Love the new magazine addition.About 5 years ago I was lucky enough to pick up a Sports Illustrated #1 at an auction for $17 with the topps cards center fold.Maybe a sports comic book addition would be cool too. There is a ton of them going back to the 1940s at least.
Sure wish I didn't sell all those SI mags a few yrs ago... I stumbled on a guy that had a bunch of 1 year SI (minus the first couple)... should have bought that guy OUT!!!
Great series already 💯
As a graded SI collector, this is an exciting new addition to your awesome group of presentations. Thanks for the investment of time and talent!
I didn't know they graded magazines but it makes sense because comics are graded. Cool information.
Yes! Keep'em comin!! 👍
Love it!
Fantastic addition to your channel! Thank you!

@@forgerelli1 think base vs parallel. Even the most common parallel ( 1 Per pack ones) can be 5-10x the base card
@@richardbianco9674 Agreed, but some news stand copies sell for 100 times a subscription copy. And not just based on condition.
@@forgerelli1 could be a much much higher ratio, who knows
Nice!!!
Awesome addition to the channel.
Looks like it's a good thing I went SI for Kids crazy a few yrs back!
Great video keep it up.. Sports Illustrateds are the new hotness
Now, that was wicked cool. I would love to see more of this. Thank you.
This is amazingly cool. I used to just pass up programs and magazines but I won’t now!
I love your videos! I will certainly be watching out for the magazine posts as well.
Lol... that LeBron first game program makes it LOOK like he's the only one on the Cavs talking on the ENTIRE Kings team.. lol...
An outstanding video! I have learned so much from you, and your very knowledgeable viewers. It humbles me.
This was a very nice change bro!!! I have probably around 20 or so older magazines! I have the holo cover Jordan too!!! Thanks so much for sharing! You're videos are great brother!! Peace
Great info, yes definitely a good add. Never knew the market heated up for these

Did you ever find that magazine with that crazy Wayne "rc"??? I forgot what its called???
I have alll of these and no one wants to give me $3 for them! I am so angry I have tons of spit coming outta my mouth!
Did you grade them yet?
@@akin9868 no yet brother wyd?
I have a 1967 world series program from fenway Park, these things are pretty cool!
Yes, I would like to see more of these videos, I received alot of knowledge off this one.
The main grader in comics and magz is cgc . Soon they will be the major grader in cards aswell. Watch out PSA the king is coming!!!😁😁😎
Love ur channel EVEN MORE now brother, as a Michael Jordan Sports Illustrated collector this is AWESOME!!!
Purple label!!!! Ohhh no!!!!

Great Video on Sports Magazines. Huge collector of Newsstand CGC graded Sports Illustrated..Thank you
Top 15 magazines and programs is a welcome surprise. Thank you.
Maybe top 15 other kinds of memorabilia? Ticket stubs, sporting equipment, etc
Anyone ever saw a hardback collector edition Dale Earnhardt SI sent from SI to me that when opened the magazine inside is backwards and upside down!!!! anyone else receive theirs like this yrs ago?
That was an awesome video. Great content and commentary as always. Wonder if the old Beckett and Wizard price guides will ever make the top 15.

Doesn't the First SI come with a set of Topps cards (uncut)???

Were can I find this auction site need info please
I know EXACTLY where Adams and Dearborn meet!!!
Ok
Any idea why someone would sell a mag like the 1st Ali cover ungraded? Think they just don't know about grading?
Let’s go
Good to see this segment of the hobby gaming traction - they display nicely and populations are very low.
Looks like this is the best time to list my newsstand Magazines. Seems like theres more interest now. Open the floodgates!

You should have let TBG do your song!!!
Do magazines EVER grade a 10???
I have boxes of old 1990s SI . This gives me a reason to dig them out. looking forward to more of this content
I love your channel and really like the new addition to the lineup. Definitely think you should do it again.
If I started collecting MAGAZINES, which take up WAY more room than cards, my WIFE would KILL me!!!
I have boxes of Sports Illustrated covers somewhere. I moved about a year and a half ago, I'll have to get them out again. $$$$$
More great content?! Never knew there was such a robust market for these. How about auction catalogs? Thank you
Who doesn't like a bonus?
259 working days turnaround time for grading mags at CGC? roflmao i might be dead before it get it back
Sure wish I didn't sell all those SI mags a few yrs ago... I stumbled on a guy that had a bunch of 1 year SI (minus the first couple)... should have bought that guy OUT!!!
I feel like we might be getting a little too far away from the "junk wax" part.
Even as sports card collectors, it is really interesting how all our interests are similar. Lol.. keep up the great work you do for our hobby!!!!
I like seeing you show old magazines. I have a lot of them and it nice to see that they were worth saving I’d like to see more of this type stuff 👍👀
