Born in 1978 and lived in fatima mansions, great times as a kid, football afterschool on the dry canal, the smell of guinesses brewing the hops, it was a tough place to grow up, especially when the drugs ravaged the area, luckily enough most of our gang got a life for ourselves and some decent careers, heating engineer,a detective,an IT engineer,a builder,an electrician a carpenter and fortunately all have continued to work through the recession. keep plugging away boys. ya know who you are..

Born 1960 in UK. Spent many a wonderful school holiday in Oliver Bond House flats, Absolutly great times had. Are the flats still there now ? Marina Duggan.
I'm looking to find a documentary on chamber street flats, I'm not sure if it was the only flats in it but I think prime time or something like that done it
Anyway, what a disaster, we moved to Tallaght, yes it was a nice new house and I guess that's what my Mother wanted, we didn't trash the place and my parents bought it from the corpo. I had just started my mechanical plumbing apprenticeship and was catching two buses to get to the city and then to stillorgan. Like wadk 78 I also had a great time growing up in the flats, I am glad I didn't get stuck in the kids having kids trap of flat life.
@1878keni I grew up in Dolphin House. Living out North Co Dublin now and I miss the life in the flats. Seems to be no community spirit anywhere anymore or else it's just out this way.
I'm now far away from that great life I had in Dublin and living an even better one now. You could fry an egg on the stones here, but a pint of Harp ah a pint of Harp. Bang Bang ???
Christ! It looks like a run down part of post war Moscow! My Wife and I have enjoyed an 8 day coach trip to Ireland... but the sight and smell of Dublin, was not a highlight!
Love this tune bought many a dove from the flats
