- This is a 15 mm project, representing the Fantasy army of the empire, using the rules warmaster. It’s just a fantasy representation of the Warhammer universe where various fictitious armies are depicted. This army has figures from blue moon, forest dragon and RalPartha.
What a beautiful army!
Thanks Gary. I love this little army
Nobody really ever does it in 15 mm mostly you find them in 10 mm or of course the 28mm. But everything I own is 15. It was quite challenging as there are no ranges out there. But I’m glad that you liked it. I thought the printed figures turned out fantastic and if I had my druthers, I would do it all over with that. But I had all of these extra Swiss, and they seem to work perfectly for it.
@@thekrausecollection15mmmin53 To me, 15 mm is much better for this kind of models. I want to be able to see the evocative details in a fantasy miniature (crazy helmets, scepters, fangs, magic swords etc...), without sacrificing the big army look that is harder to achieve in 28mm. Your efford has paid off, it's amazing.
Really nice Kevin 👍
You pre-empted me, I was looking at that army as you described it and the thought came that you could use other armies with the odd fantasy elements chucked in to make a human fantasy force - Landsknects, high gothic armour late medievals ( the old tin soldier ones come to mind (only because I have some) also Polish winged lancers would look great.
I don’t have as many 15mm figures as you and it’s seems this may be a viable option. I do have 15mm Ork figures to oppose such an army with.
So thanks Kevin you have given me food for thought and your beautiful figures are certainly an inspiration to do it.
Thanks again Kevin

You know that’s exactly what my thought. I wanted to have various fantasy armies because I think they’re fun. And thought the human armies are easy you just use exactly what you have available. Landknechts, gothic knights, Swiss etc. polish or Russian Cossacks. Mix them all up. Fun. Add a steam tank, funky printed artillery and then you have it. Italian wars works great. Leonardo da Vinci thinking.
Great video now following
Hi Gary. Glad you like the videos
Great work! Great inspiration to keep me painting. Temporarily have put aside my 15mm to paint 28mm stuff for DnD for my kids, but I need to paint a unit or to for my 15mm Empire . Just received a couple orders from Demonworld from their last sale, that I need to start gluing onto bases.
Do you have a Bretonian army?
Nice job Kevin. 👍🏻
Thank you very much. I’m glad that you enjoyed it. I love the tank the steam tank that’s my favorite.
Great paint job. They look great all together. The dragons look pretty cool where are they from?
You know, I think that the lead leader is on a griffin, and that was printed from Forest dragon, I believe the other dragon is from Demon world, and the rest of the figures are predominantly either from a printer, which I really liked mini rat and for dragon. Mini rat is by far the cooler. All of the foot soldiers however, the Hidir etc. are from blue moon altogether they fit well in a group and I think they look good.
@@thekrausecollection15mmmin53 Oh that is sweet they do look like a great army. Will have to look into them when i start working on my 15mm again.
If you need more help or details please let me know
@@thekrausecollection15mmmin53 Thank you will do.
Looks great. I'm working on an Orc army right now. I 3d print mine, just get any 10mm STLs (there's lots of great sculptors out there), resize by 140% and print. I've based them on the 'big base DBA' method so I can use each base as unit in Warmaster or for To The Strongest Fantasy.
Do you know that sounds like a great set of rules. I should try those. I always had a hard time getting the printed armies to match my 15’s. But I don’t have a printer. I just order them. Are used to have one for about a month, but it kept breaking on me and I thought geez I almost need to be an engineer to run this thing. You should send me some pic of your orcs. I did an orc video I think sometime early this year that way you can see what I’ve done.
So much passion for the models. Very good. Thx for sharing 😊
You’re welcome I think anybody who does this hobby has a little bit of passion for what they do. I had lots of fun painting it. Painting watching movies that’s the relaxation in the evening.
Excellent again, you are making me think about rebasing my Medievals for Fantasy using your basing technique. Can you post the sizes you use at all for Inf, Cav and Artillery please?
Hi Paul basin is relatively easy to be honest. I found a method that goes pretty fast. People say they like my basin but in reality I feel like I’m cheating.😂🫣🫣 all of my armies are based on a 40 mm frontage as a basis, or at least in multiples of 40. My infantry bases if it’s going to be a small unit or I think it could be then it’s on 40 mm infantry units are generally 80 mm frontage cab 80 mm frontage so two stands of 40s or just one big large 80 mm stand. I found that to be the easiest you’ll see all my armies are based the same infantry is 40 so 80 x 40. My cavalry are on 80 x 60. Even my artillery are based on 40 x 40 stands or 80 x 40. What I have learned is it really doesn’t matter what the depth is it’s all about the frontage so if I want a very large unit then I put two stands together and now the frontage is 160 mm. But with the fantasy armies, we play war which is a lot of fun so most of my fantasy armies I’ve passed them on 40 x 40 mm stands. I know that sounds like I’m rambling a bit but if you watch the video again you’ll see everything on 40 by 40s.
@@thekrausecollection15mmmin53Thanks for the detail, do you have any videos of your painting or basing method on the channel?
@@thekrausecollection15mmmin53 Sorry I forgot to ask why do you sometimes bases 6 to a base and sometimes 8, does it donate anything of just what looks best?
@@paulmahoney6365 it’s just what looks best. Sometimes the figures are a bit smaller. The base is the most important. Lt cavalry I put less figures on naturally. Heavy cav I fit as many as it looks pleasing.
@@thekrausecollection15mmmin53 So fantasy all on 40x40 :)
