This is absolutely amazing!
Layne was a beast in this!
it’s impossible to overpraise Voiceplay they are stupendous and there doesn’t seem to be any genre they can’t do ❤🏴
She did join them for the post sing off tour! I can't remember if you've seen it already, but she did a video with VP a couple years back called "The Bones." It's beautiful and one I still listen to often. Definitely would enjoy a reaction to that (if you haven't already). ❤
I haven't see the show either but it didn't spoil or affect my enjoyment of this amazing medley. I just enjoy it for what it is, a stand alone presentation. And it's wonderful.
Geoff called it his beast of arrangement. It took 2 years to get them all together to finally film it, obstacles, obstacles.
I read the book when it made its tremendous debut, but never saw the production. Neither do I have familiarity with the sound track. But VP's medley is certainly great. I enjoyed the video and he reaction! Thanks for sharing.
Every time I hear this I get goosebumps.
If I got the chance to see “Wicked” on Broadway, I would absolutely compare it to Voiceplay’s version!!
Rachel was also suffering from laryngytis at time of filming the video. Geoff worked years on this arrangement and they knocked it out of the park.
I was all set to go from the Tallahassee area to Tampa to see the Broadway cast of Wicked. I unfortunately came down with covid and stayed home. I owe myself for that one. I truly love the group here with these lyrics and voices. Just amazing. Emoni was with them for the tours. I'd love see the comparison.
Even if you don't do a reaction to it, you should watch/see Wicked. It's worth it.
I'm not familiar with the original, but it doesn't diminish my appreciation for their rendition. I love both of the ladies joining in this, they are fantastic. Enjoyed your reaction, thanks!!
Yes, Emoni joined VoicePlay for the Sing Off Tour, and they sound great together! There are some fan made clips from the tour floating around, but also one compilation of ”Love on Top” on VoicePlay’s own RUclips page (I’m not sure if it’s actually live audio recording though, or if it’s studio): ruclips.net/video/SCyMt2XN9lc/видео.htmlsi=A0cEKeaavzcnoXWV
Not familiar with "Wicked" or the music. Love what VoicePlay did with this. Thanks, Cole, for the reaction.
Just a little info on Wicked....it is the back story of the Wicked Witch of the East & the Galinda the Good Witch of Oz.I could go on, but its more enjoyable to experience it all on your own. Just thought you'd like to why there were two guest vocalists & what the musical is about. Hope you had a wonderful Labor Day!
I've never seen Wicked, wasn't familiar with the music, but it didn't matter. Voiceplay is amazing! I've heard from other reactors that there was at least one, maybe two iconic moments of harmony that Geoff kept exactly the way it was written, so they got all the warm fuzzies from that. For the rest of it, that Voiceplay spin was fantastic. The transitions are seamless, the characterizations they were able to do without costumes and makeup were a joy to watch!
Thanx for the reaction!!
Did you catch Eli singing bass when Geoff had the lead?
Great reaction (don't tell but I actually like this better than the music from the production). You don't need the story to enjoy this , but it is an interesting take. Yes Emoni was on the Sing Off Tour with VP as well as a few videos
I Love Me, Can't believe It, The Bones (my favorite).
Good music and exellent performance is what it is, just good. Comparison is not nessesary. Nice job!
