I've got another Voiceplay video coming at you today on the Creative Channel!!!!
This is their Wicked Medley which was just released here recently. As I mentioned in the video, this was my first reaction video with my new Airpod Pros and mannnnnn was it so much better!!! Loved every bit and the sound quality helped! They did an amazing job with this song, and I could hear some deeper techniques and intricacies that I couldn't hear before because of the Airpods. AMAZING!!!! I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did, and thanks for watching! :)

It's actually a C# and not a C...but STILL impressive nonetheless. Just want to clarify that for anyone who has been saying that haha
Geoff is on fire with his arrangements right now. This is one he worked on for a long time (years, I understand), and wow, the payoff is well worth the time spent. I've seen Wicked on stage before, but with as great a spectacle as that was, and with talented performers in the cast, I still find this to be more moving. VoicePlay has a real skill at connecting emotionally with their listeners, both through arrangements and performances. But since it 'tis the season, and we were just talking about Geoff, I ought to mention that his cover of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen dropped this past Friday and it's just as incredible as you'd imagine it to be. Another seasonally appropriate tune to check out, if you're so inclined, is VoicePlay's cover of You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch. Considering you love theater, you will definitely appreciate what they put into the video in terms of makeup and staging. Plus, it is just soooo much fun!

They get the best guest singers. Rachel performed that role on stage before. Emoni (E-Mahon-ee) sang with VoicePlay before on tour. The 2 ladies plus Eli’s high belting notes, Layne’s astonishing vocal percussion, Cesar’s wonderful harmonies and comic relief and Geoff’s bass below the basement and blend make this a fabulous medley. Thanks for your reaction I wish you would react to Little Mermaid Medley or Moana Medley next.
Emoni was in TEN, the group that came in second to Home Free on The Sing Off. Rachel was on Broadway in Wicked.
Geoff's arrangement was simply outstanding, especially those transitions. I have to admit, it took me a few listens to fully appreciate the amazing harmonies in defying gravity because I couldn't wrap my mind around what Layne and Geoff were doing. They were simply flawless. Layne's beat was out of this world. Especially whatever it was that he did at 9:23 in your video. I still haven't heard a reactor comment on that part which is understandable given the amazing harmonies going on in the background at the time.
Geoff is not only a great singer but with his last two VP arrangements he is one of the best at arranging also. And is it just me or does Geoff need to arrange a VP version of Carol of the Bells?

He did an awesome version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
When Caesar says "Kill the witch," and Geoff looks at him like, "Bring it down a notch."
Every one of them had several great moments in this.

I jumped in late, so I had to run it back to see the whole reaction. I really love your reactions. I think you said you will be doing Geoff’s latest release, and I’m looking forward to that.
Although you can’t go wrong with any of their music, I would like to suggest one in particular - True Colors. It’s an older video, and a departure from what you’ve seen so far. No makeup or costumes. No beatboxing (Layne sings in his beautiful baritone!). When Layne did the arrangement, he very much wanted people to really listen to the words. But the words are wrapped in a beautiful arrangement and filmed creatively. I think you’ll love it.

If you remember the little mermaid medley, you might understand why Geoff was so concerned at how excited Cesar was to kill the witch! 😂

Perhaps Voiceplay’s Phantom of the Opera with Rachel???? The Phantom is played by Tony Wakim a former member of Voiceplay. He has a wonderful voice 🤓

Geoff also does a cover of 16 Tons....mostly known as one of Tennessee Ernie Ford's songs!!! The Theatrics are Great!!! And "House of The Rising Sun"!!!

Great reaction! You definitely should listen to Geoff’s God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen as well. I’m not a fan of Christmas carols (long story), but that one is now in my iTunes library.

The arrangement is amazing - years in the works. There is such a chemistry between them all. You are saying Emoni correctly. She also sang with them in The Bones. Her voice has that R & B tone that is a contrast to Rachel’s princess voice. Each of them sounds so different. It shouldn’t work but it does. At the start of Good News, Cesar riffs up and Eli comes in riffing back on down. I don’t know why but I just really like that. They all did such an amazing job.
Whether you react to it on your channel or not, I have to recommend one of my favorite performances of “Defying Gravity,” which was done by Scott and Mitch of Pentatonix under their joint project called “Superfruit.” And yeah, they’re fooling around and having a bit of a lark with it, but holy cow, Mitch blew the roof off with the notes he hit.
Yeah.... That last note Geoff hit was a C1. Welcome to the Drama Club of a cappella. Emoni sang with VoicePlay when the group competed on The Sing Off, lo so many years ago.
It was Honey LaRochelle that sang with them in the show. Emoni did I Love Me with them later. She's also done The Bones and Bubble Yum with them.

If you want to hear some seasonal music. My favorite Christmas Voiceplay songs are: you’re a mean one mr. grinch & mission jingle bells. They are so creative with their storytelling.

Chris, You'll also Love 'Home Free' as they cover songs like "I Fell In To A Ring of Fire" and "Folsom Prison Blues" both originally done by Country Music Legend and Hall of Famer, Johnny Cash!!!
They also do a song cover from 'Oh Brother, Where Are Thou' called "Man of Constant Sorrow"

Layne's beatboxing is almost in the category of black magic/mind f*kery
May I recommend Sixteen Tons amd Blackbirds for Geoff, Boy Bands in 5 Minutes for the transitions and theatrics, and Voctave's Mashup of I Put A Spell On You/Poor Unfortunate Souls that has Rachel in it? I think you'd enjoy those quite a bit.
Earlier in VP career they did Phantom of the Opera arrangement with Rachel. It is beyond awesome. You should check it out. It as been a hot minute since I have seen it, but it has Geoff, Lane, Elle, Earl, Toni and Rachel. It’s a must see. You will love 💕 it!! Thanks for your videos.

If you love musical theatre (and we'd love to see more!) than might I recommend Cynthia Erivo? Her oscars performance of "Stand UP" (which she also wrote) is incredible. Equally stellar is "I'm Here" from The Color Purple (she won a Tony for that).

Ok. If you like this then you NEED to check out the collaboration between Peter Hollens and Nick Pitera on their Wicked Medley. Be warned though. There are two different ones. One on each channel. Depending on whose channel you pull up depends on who sings the ending. The rest is the same. I recommend listening to Nick’s.

I believe Rachel played Elphaba in one of the Wicked touring companies. She's also worked at Disney and has sung several of the princess roles. As a side note, if you don't mind sharing, are you from North Carolina? You sound like me and my relatives!
