Smart idea to have your Pampers at the ready! I’d be nervous too
Great work, love the approach, very safe and elegant in it's simplicity.
bravo. reminds me of when i drug my powermatic down the hill to my shop,
great idea to put the long boards on as stabilisers, bet you were sweating going down the hill!
Excellent job. Reminds me of the difficulties and jury rigging I had to devise to get my 450 lb Table saw out of my truck, assemble it, attach it to the base, and get it into my shop. Alone, of course.
Nice work! Very clever design on turning the crate into the moving cart.
Nice work. Just moved my PCS 36 to the basement with a narrow sliding glass door.
Well done! I got mine in my basement too. It wasn’t terrible but definitely took many many hours
Thanks for the video! I’m going to be handling mine alone too so this was helpful
Good luck!
Very nice. I've got a line on a JET JJP-12HH with very little use on it (3mo). The guy wants to upgrade to a big-time machine, and doesn't mind taking the loss, given he's very well off.. It with rollers like that, for $3500, and I can't turn that down...but, I have NO IDEA how I'm going to get that thing loaded onto a truck bed, then home. I was excited at the deal, but now I'm stressed....lol. But, I digress... Great job! That gives me some great ideas if I can find a way to get it home. Congrats on a GREAT machine.
Good luck
@@MaverickMakersUSA 😂. That almost sounded facetious . Something tells me I’m going to need therapy after all this is over with. thanks again for sharing.
Thats Hilarious, I just spent a whole day just trying to get my a3 41 in the small workshop basement door.
Nicely done! I was able to lift mine onto a rolling carriage with two big straps underneath the machine, four guys lifting it with the straps over their shoulders and a fifth to put the carriage underneath. It’s my one comment: dont lift it on either side of the beds, they are likely to get out of alignment.
We’ll done! Now enjoy.
What mobile base did you use?
Glad I found this as I'm about to put a deposit down on one of these. I added their Rolling Carriage and Lifting Bar to my quote, but after seeing your Bora -- and also the PM-3550 with 4 articulating wheels -- I'm reconsidering. I think I might prefer a Bora rather than what Hammer offers.
Have you experienced any movement or shifting of the machine within the base when pushing material through the jointer? Did you consider other bases before deciding on the Bora? Thank you!
Hey Anthony, I haven't had any issues with the machine sliding in the bae while in operation. When I originally set up the base the machine would slide a bit on the base when pushing it around the room, but I resolved that by placing wood blocks between the machine and sides of the base where there were gaps. In retrospect the PM-3550 would probably have been better than the PM-3500 I purchased. Glad the video was helpful.
How's the jointer/planer treating you? video review on it coming? Also I've been thinking about moving shop to my basement, but I have a look out not a walk out so I'm looking at this..Powermate-Motorized-StairClimber-Hand-Truck-M1
Machine is fantastic. I don't plan on making a review, but there are some good ones out there.
Super job and super helpful. How hard was it to manually slide the unit down the ramp and onto the floor? I have one in my garage on the pallet. Thinking about assembling the mobile base (same as yours) on the pallet then rolling down.
It wasn't too hard to slide off the pallet. I wanted to assemble the mobile base on the pallet and roll off but the pallet was narrower than the base wheels.
@@nicholasdriscoll6537 Yeah - same issue with me. I may however just attach some 2x4s to the pallet sides to accommodate the wheel base
What is your opinion, experience on this machine so far? Would you go for it again?
It's awesome. I would definitely buy again.
Thanks for the video. Can you please provide the make and model of mobile base you used? Thanks!
Bora Portamate PM-3500 amzn.to/3NL1dYa
@@MaverickMakersUSA thank you!
I see two mobile bases in your description. Which one was the actual one you used for the a3-31?
I used the 3500. The 3550 is the same, except all 4 wheels swivel.
I hope you never have to move :).
