    I like the review because he explains how a racquet gets certain features. For example, some people just say a racquet is spin friendly without saying what parts of the racquet design that provide that feature.

    This year I moved to a Gravity MP beefed up to be 322g strung with a swingweight of 328 and its the best racket I have ever used. It feels stable yet manoeuvrable, has put-away power and yet is controlled and feels consistent, I can hit with loads of spin and hit angles but also play flat and aggressive, and when I get pulled out wide under pressure I can get loads of height and depth on my shots. Volleys feel very solid and the feel is great for me. Even slices feel nice! I was coming from a Pure Drive and I wanted more control and this ticks all the boxes.

    You are spot on that what makes gravity pro great is the feel. And compared to prior version, the lower swing weight helps tremendously. I wonder if they were to make a 99 version and lower the swing weight a tad more but leave the same beam width - it may be the greatest stick ever created.

    I bought the 2023 vcore 98 and I COULD NOT hit with that thing. The hoop has SOO much flex that it rendered unpredictable results. I thought about trying the 95 since a smaller head should be more stable (and you confirmed). However i went with the Percept 97H, and I love the balance of flex in the throat and firmness in the hoop. When people ask me what i think of it, I tell them it's what i would call a point and shoot racquet. All that said, you have gained a subscriber, seeing how we have the same feelings on all the racquets we have both tried. Thanks for the content.

      I think the 98 would be great for you since it's less of a transition from the 100 (even the 2019). The Shift is unique in it's flex and feel (and very nice) but it will take much more time to get used to it.

I'll try to find out some demo here in Rome and as you state in the other video I need to select no more than 2-3 options of modern Classic racquets but easier to use to faster a bit my technique evolution on groundstrokes (1HBH) to start adding spins. I'll take a look at Gravity Pro but I like very much the feedback you provide on Boom Pro. From my understanding a Classic reinvented with some fundamental likes HL, heavy flat serve, manouvrabilty at net but with "Easy" pace on groundstroke with a more than average spin capability.

      Babolat is stiff but also depends on strings. I find a soft string strung on the tighter side (55+) has a nice crisp feel and doesn't hurt. Also helps if you grip light and use your body for power. I love the pure aero 2023 rafa (not the origin, it's too heavy)

      @bigrobsydney I've been experimenting a bit with multifiliments (solinco x natutal) as they are easier on the arm, but I still prefer how polys play. A hybrid of poly main and multi cross gives a nice mix of power and softness, but I think I still prefer all poly as it's what I'm used to. I normally like rpm blast (it's what I'm used to, but it's a stiffer string) or luxilon alu power is a great string. Most modern poly strings are good and comes down to preference. I'd recommend watching some videos on the best poly steings to get some ideas. Everyone says natural gut is the best. I haven't tried it yet (waiting for springtime as it's not good to play when wet or let it sit in your bag for a couple months) and you can even do gut main and poly cross to save money.

    One thing to keep in mind when demoing….some rackets may have more use on their strings, which means different characteristics like feeling less stiff. So something strung at 53lbs poly, maybe more around 48lbs if heavily demoed. I just learned this after buying a pure drive with the stiffest strings.

      If it was strung at 53 with poly, it probably has 35 left when it’s in your hands.

      I once demoed a Gravity Pro, it was strung like crap. Not really enjoyable.
      Next racquet I demo will come unstrung or I will restring it myself.
      A bad string bed can really ruin your day.

    Educate me please…are spin and control not the same?

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  6 месяцев назад

      This is a question that's probably worth its own video because, yes, the primary way to control your ball nowadays is with spin. However, what we mean by "traditional" control is a a feeling of total control over where your ball is going to go. You could call it "consistency" as well and generally you'll find it best in rackets with a small sweet spot and soft flex.

    I wish Head would give us a 305g Gravity MP, like the blade 98, there should be a Gravity MP 18/20 (now called Tour) and a Gravity MP 16/20, both 305g.

      I would suggest to try the yonex percept or the new Wilson blade v9
      Both of them are pretty balanced, perfect for baseliners 👍🏼

    Geez Luca I'm about to tear up you sound bored now year end and all. FEAR NOT I have an assignment for you if Kevin will spring for it. This racquet will make you the Yonex afficianado. Don't worry I'll buy it off you as a demo after your play test. As long as it's the Yonex Regna 98. Hard as hell too find outside of Japan because they're only sold in Japan. But tell Kevin I thought you deserved this assignment so you can be that much more objective about the Yonex line. (I hear you're selling a couple?) 🤫... kidneys

    Why is your head gravity Pro so much greener than the ones on tennis Warehouse... Is yours a different model year?... They're 23 model does not have that much green on it... Or bluish green whatever... Plus there's no auxetic technology in the 23 model they say...wtf?

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  5 месяцев назад

      I think it's just the lighting in the studio that's bringing out more colour. There is Auxetic in every 2023 Gravity Pro, though.
