    Indeed the choices of the most popular rackets. Out of all five most of the people that I played with men or women . They play with 1 out of 5 you have mentioned. They are all happy with theirs racket. So my man you are definitely correct here. I prefer going down to less expensive markets brand because I wouldn’t overpay them. The others brand do just as good as the jobs. As long you put in the right strings and tension with. Great job you.

    Well, guess what! I really needed to buy new racquet and was really confused about buying which one, aero, aero rafa or pure drive, but, as soon as I picked up the pure drive and took a swing from it, I instantly realized the type or control it has as compared to others + pure drive series always famous for its power and aggressive nature. The weight balance and he feel of the racquet is totally exceptional! And now, as you mentioned, bolstered my decision of buying this racquet.
    I'm an advanced player and yes I can say that it's really a go racquet! Totally worth the investment.

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  11 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks for the positive feedback! Always nice to hear. Weight is more so based off the skill of the player and speed of their stroke. Better players who have a fast stroke will prefer heavy rackets. Women do tend to prefer slightly lighter rackets than men (10-15 grams on average) but the Pure Drive and EZONE are only 300 grams so they should be ok. If you do want something lighter, both have "light" versions weighing 285 grams.

    I enjoy your reviews but have to call out a gaff here: At 7:00, your text graphic ID's the Pure Aero 2023 as the "Pure Aero 100." As an update of the 2020 Pure Aero VS, it's actually a 98.

      I'm talking about the Pure Aero 100 there, which came out in 2022 but is technically called the Pure Aero 2023 Standard. I really don't understand why it's the 2023 when it came out in 2022 (very confusing) but I should have been more clear about which one I was talking about especially since I kind of just made up a name for it.

    Great video as always. I'm a 40y/o beginner/intermediate player and have always used Wilson so love their racquets. Currently using the Wilson Clash V2 and Prostaff V13 RF97. I got the RF97 cos I love Roger but it's too difficult and heavy to use so got the Clash as was told it was a lot more arm friendly. However, I'm finding the Clash to feel too light and pingy and much rather the feel of the RF97 but I know I'm not good enough to use the RF97 on a consistent level. If you like the RF97 but find it too heavy, give the regular Pro Staff a try, especially the V13 (315 gram). After many years playing the RF97 I recently switched to the V13 and prefer it for its better feel. For my preference I found I needed to add some weight to the hoop. Yes the V13 gives up a bit of stability and slice ability, but makes up for it in feel and manoeuvrability.

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  Год назад +3

      I've never tried the Blade 100 so I can't really comment on it but if I were to guess, it would be like a more solid/consistent and better feeling Clash. The Shift is an amazing racket, and definitely worth trying for yourself, but yes, I would always recommend trying to the Pure Drive. It's an amazing racket that doesn't get talked about as much in the "advanced" circles because it's so mainstream, but a lot of people could do with at least trying it.

Now ive got medical clearance to knock myself out on the court again ( two artificial hips) and my Prince racquets are starting to give me arm trouble. Honestly, I dont think Im as quick as I was 20 years ago so my setting up for a shot is a little slower and im just not hitting the sweet spot like I used to. Unfortunately I've never played with any of the lower priced Wilson rackets so can't make a recommendation. Looking to replace it with a new racket because it's too loose in my hands (I've grown quite a bit) and I don't feel like I have much control over the ball (feels too easy to swing, and I often hit the ball too hard which goes out of bounds).
    I don't know what I should look for when deciding on a racket, but I do prefer to have more control with spin potential (to keep it within the field when hitting hard).

    I play with 360+ Radical MP but I am liking 360+ Gravity feel and precision a lot. The only issue is that GP seems to be “weaker” on the second serve and it does not seem to give me the “edge” on ground strokes like Radical MP.

      The Auxetic Gravity is significantly less powerful than the Radical, so you will have to work more for that depth. The Radical is still 100% viable, even in stock form, for competitive advanced/intermediate players. It's much more forgiving than the Gravity (not as precise either), but still has great stability, control, and that extra pop it sounds that you are looking for.

      I think it's the perfect update for players that haven't been able to move on from the 2013 APD. It's the closest Aero to that racket in a decade so you should be totally fine switching to it and I think it's actually a slight improvement overall.

      As the other comment mentions, adding weight to the hoop would be ideal to get more depth. Just so happens the Blade is an amazing platform racket; check out this video if you want to learn a little more: ruclips.net/video/iHDUlFDl-uY/видео.html
      I don't specifically talk about a 1 handed BH, but add the weight to 3/9 for stability or 12 for plough through and you should be onto a winner. Of course, the Pro Staff 97 v14 is probably better in stock form for a 1 handed BH if you do want to switch!

    At what stage should a beginner upgrade their racket from a cheap one? You mentioned the blade is an advanced players racket so does this mean someone who’s only playing a few months shouldn’t get one?

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  10 месяцев назад

      A beginner should only look into updating their racket when they feel limited by their current frame. The Blade is a tough racket to use and requires a full/fast stroke so probably not best to use after just a few months.

    The Pure Drive is a guilty pleasure. I can't control the power on my groundstrokes, but I was serving faster than ever without even trying.
    As expected, the Pro Staff is no longer popular now that Fed has retired. They should have made a true mid sized Pro Staff instead of the 100sqi X version.

      The Pure Drive is such a good racket. Get's a slightly bad rap in the tenist purist communities that I don't think it deserves.
      The X is a weird one for me. Being so sluggish, it just isn't really a Pro Staff to me, I think you're right it would have been great to get a proper mid sized but I don't think it would have sold much better.

      I know, I was very surprised too considering the V1 broke the Aero/Drive stranglehold. I don't know about other stores, but our Clash sales have definitely gone down. It could be because everyone who liked the idea and playability behind a Clash already has one, or because people don't like this one as much (which I would be surprised by because IMO, it's better). It also could be that because there is a Pro, 98 and the L is also so popular, it dilutes the 100's sales.

    I also think that when you describe a racket as being good at “power, spin and control” you’re essentially telling me nothing because no racket is going to be perfect at all 3 things so highlighting that the power is “ok but not it’s main feature” is more useful than saying “it has power”.
    Just some feedback and as a new player I find the tennis industries very confusing and reviews should be objective and not another marketing video.
