Pallid Bone looks like the perfect match for the classic B1 battle droid colors, but crusader skin also looks good if you want them to look more like the ones from episode 2 on Geonosis. Also might try holy white for my clones.
Great video! This is very useful for me as I will be painting my droids in the near future. I love the base because it is simple, yet very effective. They look great and I am definitely going to use a similar scheme for my desert base.
Yea either one would give you that Geonosis look. I think hardened leather could work well as a first coat for a rust effect but I haven't tried it yet.
I literally just try those with OPR Robot legions to give them a droid look... I swear, every time I try something the next day you drop a video of the exact same thing, same happened with the Alien Hives. It's scary, haha! As usual, great video, cheers man!

The best part of the sepi army is the easy paint jobs. You literally used one color for the droid and one for the gun and the B1s are perfect. Clones take 9 years to paint up and are the final units im painting up atm to be done (for the moment with all my Legion models) Currently scratch building 2 3x3 battlemaps and i love the texture paint you used for the bases. Need to buy some. The battlefield is a wet, rain, muddy, trenchfilled mess with canyons and cliffs surrounding a large base on both ends.
Thanks! I am going to be painting a clone army as well and am not looking forward to it lol At least there aren't as many models to paint. And that sounds pretty cool! You should make a video of them or something :p
@@hauntswargaming i only own a phone so the video quality would be booty lol. I did post the pics to a deleted reddit account in the past. You can still see it on google

Thanks for checking my stuff out By the way i think that white speedpaint with a light nuln oil wash will help you out with your clones. They are cool but really do suck to paint haha
@@stephenchristiansen I haven't tried it with a zenithal base coat yet. Seems like it can work sometimes but not for droids :p But yea the pallid bone over white looks great!
Very useful video! How is pallid bone compared to skeleton horde? Is it not as bad with the pooling/staining? It doesn't seem to be as bad but i just wanted a heads up before I use it. I subbed btw!
Thanks for the sub! I haven't tried skeleton horde so I can't say if it's better. Army painter is reworking the SpeedPaint line to fix the reactivation issues so I'd say hold off if you are considering buying them.
I have a question regarding the guns, do you prime/paint them separately before glueing them to the body? I found it a nightmare to paint the backside of the weapons

My second guess was Hardened Leather
Definitely liking the Pallid Bone best for these units. They all look pretty sharp though.
Yea, it's probably my favorite SpeedPaint color honestly. It's perfect for B1s
@@hauntswargamingdid ypu find it too light compared to wraithbone from citadel?

Thanks! Glad I could help :) Agrellan Earth is definitely worth the investment if you want to add some cracked earth effects
The Sand golem and hardened leather ones remind me of the droids on geonosis also the dark wook one fells like a standard b1 but very filthy

Plan to use these for my Alien Hive army as well. Just need to actually be able to get a hold of Purple Academy :c
Thanks! You helped me a lot! All others are painting with GW colors. Now i know to take Pallid Bone.
They all came out great and I dig the bases, too👍👍
Thanks! I was going for "slightly geonosian but could be any desert"

Curious about the pallid bone / sand golem mix, subbed to see it!

I used Pallid Bone on my droids for my Persuader tank. It looks outstanding. Just don’t use a zenithal coat. That’s the only thing I found

No I fully assembled them before painting. I could see doing sub assembly with the bazooka weapon (whatever it's called)

I don't own any BXs but I have a squad of b2s. I used the thinned down runic grey over silver for them and that worked pretty well

Great video, but the music distracts, in my humble opinion.
