- This video shows how easy Casting Resin Skulls using an ice cube mold can be. I wanted to test whether you could use ice cube molds for casting resin and I saw this one and thought it was ideal. I love how the resin skulls have come out and I think they would make great gifts at Halloween. Some of the casting resin skulls molds are expensive and this method didnt cost much. The skull mold is really strong as well. As well as casting resin skulls, I also have a small screw lid pot that I cast with resin here. The pot isn't a great success, although it will be useful for putting small amounts of alcohol ink in when painting with it. Unfortunately, the lid does not fit well, but you cant win them all.

I have a similar skull mold, I filled the top section with sand to weigh it down.

I use very similar ice cube molds for my art & these are perfect for polymyer clay too.
Those are so freaking cool. I just love them I got a black mold like that but only has the one design in it. So neat with the head phones on it.
I've got that same little pot mold. I found that if I left it for 48 - 62 hours that the lid did screw on to just hold nicely. Certainly wouldn't hold liquid, but would do for other things.

You can fill one with dried babys breath flowers. maybe with colored ones too.
Really like the sculls, how would you polish them? Would you use a dremel?

Have you ever tried an agitator or Shaker plate to work bubbles out of molds

You ladies could hold your vibrator against the mold for a minute or so!!!
Is it possible to use UV resin in this mold??
Why don't you pluck the bubbles out with your hand or get a shaker?

How do you get your skull to be clear. I have tried them a few times and they come out not clear. I know they won’t be shiny
Thank you for replying I will keep trying I don’t have big bubbles just some of those very tiny ones. The resin is ok on other moulds.but the outcome on the skulls is cloudy, but the same resin in another mould is fine.will keep persevering.
