As a gaming indystry pro here is my answer: Learn one. Doesn't matter what it is as it is a good one, The studios want the artist, they don't care about software. It is cheaper for them to get the software for the artist. The engines use all the same, compatible files, thus the tool doesn't matter. Artist is the one that matters. We don't talk about what paints, canvas or such Da Vinci and other artists used, we talk about the ARTISTS.
thank you for the feedback.
Jaani Kääpä dude that was some great advice here , thanks
Hud Adnan Thank you. In the beginning it is good to know how to do animations and skinning and so on, but in the large studios there are full time skinners, riggers, animators and surface artist.
Now things change if you transition to film and TV CGI. Both industries are all about the talent and where it is better for game studios to hold multiple licenses, film and TV industry tend to have their own inhouse software for things. For example Blender started as one and hence it is a lot of things, including a full animation suite as well as a video editor. Pixar has their own proprietory system, etc. Again as a talent pick the tool you like the most, in games you get to use it, in CGI/VFX the studio you work for will train you to use their own.
Now, there are a couple free or semi free mocap software for smart devices. For animators these are important. Learn to use them and incorporate those animation files into their art. You get better and more fluent animations and you have a rudimentary knowledge of using mocap and this will make you very interesting for all studios. However mocap isn't all be all is all. Learn to do 2D animation and such too. The exact same rules and knowledge are gold here.
Yes! But artists need tools and some tools you can arrive more faster than others....And this make totaly diference.
@@jaanikaapa6925 thanks so much , actually I'm starting my journey with Blender now and I practice it slowly so I don't get bored , but please if you have any tip for me as a beginner please tell me I need it . thanks again
Thumbs up. Hope you'll also do videos looking into; breakdowns of the programs once they've been setup and how they're started once user boot'em up for the first time or so. Rather than have a video as if the user been working with the programs for ages and so on.
That's what I'm just thinking about. I've seen many awesome masterpieces doing with Blender and so for Maya etc. The artist is the most important.
Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much!!💙
What about quixel mixer? Which has a new texture painting tool not to mention the megascan library and unreal integration.
I agree with you. Making game is getting hard
im a beginer but want to be a pro, so which one should i use in the list? i think maybe blender is a good choice... any advice?
as a hobby, part time, would blender be more frustrating and limited than Maya, like Gimp vs Photoshop, or can I get to achieve good results in either?
Saif Addin I have been in the industry for the last 6 years and in my opinion I would say pre Blender 2.8, Blender’s old UI and logic was frustrating and really confusing. Blender has actually been better for game development as it has more versatile tools. Now that 2.8 is out Blender is quite a lot more powerful than Maya when it comes to game content development
your voice motivates me to go towards animation
Hello. I can’t watch your video because the RUclips algorithm puts automatic Korean subtitles on your video (
Nice☺☺

Hallo
My question is quixel mixer and bridge is good

Haven’t you made a video exactly like this before
If you dream of a pro, don't take the tool's price seriously. Most of the tools are provided by the company.
If you are likely to turn freelance, then learn free tools. Because of the small possibilities, do not miss the most important. The most important thing is to use the tools provided by the company. If you reject it, the company will reject you(for teamwork, etc.)
Emphasize the 'advantages' of low or free programs to freelance aspirants. For those who want to work for the company, that's not a big advantage.
'It has a slightly lower performance, but OOO is much better because it is free', it was
'Your $5 chocolate is really delicious, but the shit that I have on the side of the road is free that it's so amazing!' It is not different from the word. If the functionality of the free tool is good, please introduce the function without the price
Is this the WorldOfLevelDesign guy? Sounds the same!

help, what does he say at 5. 36? "it is an excelent program for ...????" viedmax???
i just use blender to model them then free version of unity to code them and do other stuff
What is the cheapest besides blender
I would say Houidini is cheap the indie version by the way the indie version of Maya is cheap as well like about $300 per year or so. I don't why people aren't talking about it.
Modo
i think maya and 3ds max is much powerful
You forgot Notepad. It helps creating games too.
why the hell 3ds Max competes with Maya? they are from the same company
They were originally developed by other companies and then bought by AutoDesk, who continues to support both.
I think #MarvelDesigner is missing.
I'm trying to avoid blender because it runs 1.01 fps for me lmfao
There’s barely any free
Blender is best for modeling
How can we learn this when we are in lockdown?
That's the best time to learn it. There are a shit ton of free tutorial around on the internet, especially here on RUclips.
What do you mean? You dont need to go outside to learn...
Seriously?
Oh yeah, we forgot to tell you! You never needed school to create this stuff. You can literally make a full video game or film with just a single laptop. Take advantage of the knowledge the internet is giving you for free. If it sounds like too much work and you need a teacher to teach you everything, consider to learn how to achieve motivation through large workloads. 3D is not a walk in the park unless you've mastered the art of persistence.
The title of this video is so wrong. It should be 'what software is used for video games'. You covered sculpting and texturing softwares too, not just modeling tools. Also how come you forgot substance designer if you added substance painter! Designer is also used a lot. And softwares like C4D, 3D Coat are not used for games. Think twice before you make an action.
what the hell is your problem huh?
BLENDER SUCKS! As a beginner, stay away from Blender, it cannot bend a simple object the way you want it. No I know why it's free.
