    You are a legend! Everyone goes over all the components, and glosses over how much actually fits. Thank you for this much needed perspective!

      The fridge really helps to provide a great variety of meals we would not likely pack in a cooler. It’s hard to beat a great meal while camping.

    So cool. Thank you. 💕💕 So amazing how much food you fit in that. I have a Subaru outback 2015 Limited. I think it’ll fit perfect in the trunk left-hand side. Great video thanks again. Hoping you both have lots of fun.

      Renea Dooserider I love this fridge. It’s pretty much the size of a standard ice chest and can fit under the bed cover of my Tacoma. We are hitting the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands Utah this weekend. I stuffed the fridge with so much food. My wife is coming along this time and I’m sure we’ll come home with most of what that fridge can hold. 😁

    great video! I too was struggling to find an example of what real things fit and how. Aaand, you have given me some good ideas for next weekends meal plans! I've never camped with salad, and am looking forward to it.

    That holds a lot more than what I think people really think... I seriously looking at this one but I haven't been able to see it IRL. I wish others would do this type of review of this model because this is what you really need to know... Do you think this would also be good for a Costco run? I'm about an hour away from my nearest Costco and during the summer I feel like I have to rush home so everything doesn't melt...

    • @benjaminmarkmartin
      @benjaminmarkmartin  3 года назад

      It would be perfect for a Costco run...depending on how much you purchase. Have the fridge cooling on your way into town and while you're shopping so that when you check out and get back to your car it will be cold and ready for your frozen or cold items.

      @@benjaminmarkmartin thanks so much! I made the road trip to the nearest REI (who had these in stock) and picked it up. Was a little nervous since they didn't have one out and wouldn't open the box (understandable) but looking and testing it out when I got home I think this is really going to do the trick. Your video REALLY helped Mark!

      @@DSD that’s awesome. I got mine from REI too. The dividend is 10% and if you end up not liking it... you can return it for a full refund. I also bought a thermometer to keep inside.

    The only interesting thing about the size of these boxes is if they can take a standing 1liter, 1.5 liter or 2 liter PET bottle. Everything else can be fitted in at different angles.

    • @benjaminmarkmartin
      @benjaminmarkmartin  2 года назад +1

      This particular refrigerator is deep enough to hold a 2 liter bottle standing upright with plenty of room to spare in order for the lid to close completely.

    Are you powering the Dometic exclusively with the Jackery 500?

    • @benjaminmarkmartin
      @benjaminmarkmartin  4 года назад +3

      bikedogtaco when we are driving, I either plug the fridge into the 12 volt (cigarette lighter plug) in the truck or I plug the jackery into the AC outlet in the bed of the truck and then I plug the fridge into the 12 volt plug on the jackery. This set up is great because the truck can charge the Jackery at 80 watts while the fridge is only pulling a few watts. This allows the jackery to charge while driving and keep the fridge powered at the same time.

      @@benjaminmarkmartin This is the exact set up I am looking to get in the back of my Tacoma underneath my Diamondback cover. Do you ever have any issues with the 12v plug working loose from the Jackery or any other connections coming loose while driving?

    • @benjaminmarkmartin
      @benjaminmarkmartin  3 года назад

      @@leighgibson3623 I’ve never had any issues with the 12 volt connection working itself loose. I suppose it can happen over time however, my trips are primarily short weekend trips. I think it’s a great setup for weekend trips. If I was spending much more time on the backroads, I would look for other options. Have Fun!
